News Flash … 9th “Főzdefeszt” – Street Food Show – June, 5-7. 2015. – Budapest

unnamed

Venue … Városliget – City Park – Olof Palme promenade.

In just less than a week Hungary’s famous craft-beer festival is rolling along its way again between  at the Városliget – Budapest’s City Park,  which is the second largest public park in the District XIV. The total area is situated on 100 hectares. It has actually about 81 hectares of rich park  with approx. 6500 tree stands with shady canopies. The most elegant historical park where the open-air beer garden will take place.

More to it … probably not on my own by saying one of the biggest periodically arranged open-air beer-garden in the world.

Hungary’s craft-beer scene has seen an incredible growth in the last few years and even gaining more-and-more speed-up! The Főzdefeszt – Craft Beer Festival has grown from being an average festival of attracting 10.000 visitors to a mass-celebration with 40-50000 individuals twice a year. Főzdefeszt is the greatest gastronomical event of Hungary.

Despite the huge growth the Főzdefeszt is not an average beer festival, had managed to preserve its original peaceful and amiable character … no roaring music, nor second-hand pop stars, nor grunting pig gangs,  nor quantitative drinking,  nor short drinks, nor binge-drinking and most importantly neither crappy beer.

binge-drinking. Főzdefeszt is just becoming a professionally organized quality event. This is the first time to deploy the branded glasses ruling out the ugly, inappropriate and pollutant plastic-mugs.

A must-visit venue, … if wish to know where Hungarian beer is heading … if you want to taste several new breweries sprung up throughout the winter, or  … if  interested to check out how the old favors had improved and kept their qualities.

For the third time, they organize the festival together within their twin-festival, Street Food Show, the best and original street-food fare in Budapest. Also managed to pull the scenes together just like a few years ago the Főzdefeszt did it with the breweries.

On the spot there will be 50 beer-stands showcasing around 200 brews,  as well as 30 food-vendors, that will offer everything that will surely catch the eyes and taste.

Opening hours: Friday, June, 5.,   3 p.m.  June, 6. 2 a.m.
Saturday, June, 6. Noon  – June, 7., 2 a.m.
Sunday, June, 7., Noon  – Midnight

Free entry … just to buy a “Főzdefest” glass for beer drinking.

Budapest 3D Printing Days, organized for the 3rd. time this year and brings 40 exhibitors on hand. The visitors will also be offered have a chance to explore and try out the latest 3D printers and software.  The aim is to showcase the very best of this technology to the audience – returning visitors will be awarded by the rapid nature of development in this field, which is also observable in the local markets as well.  It is about so much more than printing plastic trinkets … less spectacular but all the more relevant production technology and product development integration will slowly reshape the industrial background behind our object culture.

The concept of 3D printing is unbelievably broad and when we  … mistakenly … reduce it to action figure printers, we likely are forgetting all of the of the technical, scientific or medical the advances which would have been impossible without the additive manufacturing process. Shapes that have had been previously impossible to manufacture, structures which were before too complex to mass produce with the 3D printing has made its way to be a part of our reality and in many fields to be used not in the future but to-day as well.

At the 3 days event visitors may see many awesome ideas placed into force and there is nothing strange in it, cause if just thinking of the invention of steel-bar  made fence in the 19th century was an unimaginable novelty and now-a-days  it does not trigger  anybody’s mind.

In the meantime here is one of the exhibitors, worthwhile to see and talk to the creators, Calin Brandabur and Mihai Soare who will be there to answer any of your questions and to present technical live demonstrationsTheir Symme3D is being showcased for the first time internationally here in  Budapest  at the 3D Printing Days.

In brief a little background of  the … “ Symme3D is the first multifunctional delta platform 100% designed, engineered and manufactured in Romania. It was designed by Calin Brandabur to be used as a manufacturing tool for modules developed for personal use. The public interest was high so now Symme3D became a product on its ownThe platform features 10 interchangeable tool heads for 3D printing, Laser etching, CNC milling and will be the first desktop sized pick and place machine worldwide. With Symme3D a DIY maker, engineer, hardware startup or even established company can control the full life-cycle of a hardware product development from PCB milling, for the electronics, Stencil laser cutting to easily apply the solder paste on the PCB to 3D printing  cases / boxes or frames for the final product. Also coming later this year, the first fully automated, desktop sized, Pick And Place machine! The Symme3D will be available to purchase in Summer 2015. … “

Soon spicing up with more 3D exhibitors.

New hangar constructing works began at Budapest Airport.

Wizz hangar visual

Heavy machines once again started to roar at Ferenc Liszt Airport  in the area between the two large maintenance and repair hangars. Budapest Airport is building a brand-new hangar for Wizz Air which commences operation of its maintenance base in Budapest from September this year. The general contractor of the new hangar construction is Market Építő Zrt.  No fewer than 68 reinforced concrete piles have been put down into the ground in the area of the new hangar to be built at Budapest Airport – the Wizz Air maintenance/repair hangar project has officially entered the construction phase. The new hangar directly opening to the maintenance apron will be erected by Market Építő Zrt between the existing maintenance hangars operated by Lufthansa Technik and Aeroplex by August, and Wizz Air is expected to move into the new facility already in September. The 15-year lease contract for the new hangar was signed by the airline and Budapest Airport last June.

The 2000-square-meter hangar and 200 square meter service facility will accommodate a single aircraft. In the course of designing the hangar, it was also took into consideration that in the years ahead the Wizz Air fleet may be extended with Airbus A 321 neo aircraft already featuring ‘sharklets’, with a body that is almost 7 meters longer than that of the currently operated A 320 variety. From this spring onwards, Wizz Air is using Budapest Airport as a base for a fleet of 9 aircraft, and line maintenance and minor repairs required in the course of daily operation will be performed in the new hangar.

“This year, one of our largest development projects is the new hangar to be built for Wizz Air with a total investment of close to 1 billion HUF. Wizz Air is the biggest airline partner of Budapest Airport in terms of passenger traffic, and the new hangar is another step towards further strengthening the presence of Wizz on-airport, and the aircraft maintenance business in general.” said René Droese, property director of Budapest Airport. He added, “They operate their aviation unit, their Crew Center, their flight simulator, and their training center at our airport already. The current project shows that we are committed to continued growth and creating new jobs at Ferenc Liszt International Airport . The new hangar makes it possible for Wizz Air to run an even smoother operation here enabling it to perform high-quality line maintenance activities in Budapest.”
