Hungarian Breweries huge recognition of the high quality of artisanal beers – Dublin Craft Beer Cup 2017

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

No Mistake … it is clear by now that in addition or should be said beside the already great Hungarian wines, great beers homeland became Hungary!

Humans are equipped with the ability to taste, smell and scent, the mouthfeel of foods and beverages. These senses work in combination to give an overall impression of what is being consumed. There are also other factors that play influence whether we find a taste desirable or not.  When it comes to tasting beer, what constitutes a „good beer” and a „bad’ beer”? Firstly, there are many different beer types and people will gravitate to what suits their palate. In breweries and ciders across the world, no matter how much testing and measuring goes on during production, not a single batch is released unless it is tasted by competent people to ensure that it is of the right quality and has the right flavour attributes for that drink type … isn’t that good to know!?!

The Alltech Craft Brews & Food Fair Ireland’s largest craft brews fair, opened its doors for the three-day festival at The Convention Centre Dublin. This year gold medals were awarded to outstanding brews from Hungary, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Spain New-Zealand and so forth.

During the 3 days it was more than just a craft beer festival, having craft cider, craft spirits and craft wine whereas was more than something to tempt all taste buds.

Now getting to the point to this year’s Dublin Craft Beer Cup competing out of 370 craft beers.Twenty-three Hungarian beers in Ireland were awarded at the craft beer festival.

Hungary participated within 44 beers from 11 breweries which also out came with prizes. This year the Hungarian beers received a huge recognition of the high quality of artisanal beers produced in Hungary.  The big winner at the Alltech Craft Brews & Food Fair was produced by Ádám Dudok and Máté Ábrahám  the Horizont Saison Witbier – „Fűtőház” namely 327-139 stout brewery beer received the gold medal from the 28-strong international jury. The award was presented by Dr. Pearse Lyons – founderpresident of Alltech, and Dr. Gearoid Cahill – director of brewing science at Alltech in Dublin, Ireland.

Other Hungarian breweries as: HeatingHouse, Hopfanatic the HopTop, Mad Scientists, Maecenas Beer Brewing Co., Synthesis Workshop also received silver and bronze medalist for their boasts beers. The Etyeki Beer Manufactory, a Monyo Brewing co., RothBeer beers were rewarded with a bronze medal.

The grand prize was handed over on last Thursday evening in Dublin. The gold, silver and bronze medals were collected by the prize-winning breweries and those not present in Dublin at the ceremony were handled over at the Krak’n Town Steampunk SaloonBudapest (By-the-way an excellent Irish food place to have a bite or two…!)

Should like draw the forthcoming organizers attention and would like to recommend that in the future the charters hold the name of the “Country”  which the beer received the award … Thus, the beer lovers find information about which part of the world’s favorite straight draw they are enjoying.

Many may know by heart, as beer experts say… „Some ciders can be thin, dry, fruity and acidic. Which do you prefer – that’s up to your own personal taste. That’s the great thing about beers and ciders – you can find many that suit your palate. Pilsen beers can be thin on mouthfeel, taste quite bitter with no sweetness from the malt, giving a crisp clean bitterness with some fruity from the esters produced by the yeast naturally during fermentation. Some ales have body with a creamy mouthfeel, sweetness from the malt, bitterness from hops and also a great hop aroma from other hop types. Now ain’t that a hug variety when it come to have a pint of beer.”
