Rolling their running feet across two prettiest bridges on the River Danube will surely be a superb sight of the capital.

Needn’t have to introduce UNICEF mission, which is well-known all around the World, as no children should suffer of dehydration, of starvation, either should die of violence, exploitation or abuse causes. This time the flashes of its mission in Budapest,Hungary definitely worth to mention. Based on the idea of Mr. David Szántó, TV sports reporter is important to spread the news …

For the first time in the history of Marathon circuit, the „KIDS on the RUN”, Children’s Relay, will be held  together with the regular Marathon on Sunday, October, 13. 2013. in Budapest, Hungary.

This kind of run had not ever been held anywhere in the World, whereas a run takes off in a noble cause as to awaken the attention to the vulnerable children around the world. This date will most probably be mentioned in the History Book of Marathon, as the 42 kms. full course relay Marathon with 60 children from 42 different nationalities.  An awesome sporty day, where the „cacophony of languages” will surely fill the air, yet  in act all participants will be as one as to reach within their run their main goal to be the first to cross the finish line, in time and body at the end of  their sweaty run. The day is holding so much fun for young and old, if not as a runner, then be there to cheer the runners.  They will surely appreciate all the smiling faces and give them energy for the kms. to come. Those who wish to see a bunch of children getting ready for their „make my day” can be met at the UNICEF Hungary team’s tent at the ’56s Square beside the Heroes’ Square, next to the Race Center. The venue of the Kids on the Run start and finish line will be at the same point as the Spar Budapest Marathon.

The UNICEF Committee for Hungary with the support of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the news to the Embassies in Budapest about this outstanding children relay Marathon to be held in Budapest.  The Israeli Cultural Institute was in support in helping to spread the news of the “KIDS on the RUN”  Children Marathon race in Budapest. An Israeli 14 years-old boy came forward who wished to be in the competition. A Palestinian refugee family’s 9 years-old son also entered to the race. This competition is purely for fitness, strength building, doesn’t recognize any color, neither religion, nor affiliation. The greatest symbol of brotherhood, peace, understanding and love, that could be imagen will be presented by the israeli and the Palestinian boy who both will run hand-in-hand fulfilling their one-kilometer relay race across  the Chain Bridge. This spectacular scene will surely grab everyone’s heart beat. The race at this point will symbolize the connection in relationships, just as the chains join together on the Chain Bridge.

Most of the children on the run are kids of foreigners living, working in Hungary. The competitors age is between 7 to 16 years. Channel CNN crew arriving to Budapest

The CNN online recommends on their webpage the Budapest’s 28th SPAR Marathon coming alive this week-end. The channel is coming over with a crew to the event. Those who cannot make it won’t miss a thing cause by watching on the telly may follow reports of the sights and sound of the Budpests’s Marathon. Even though the clock’s hands are running fast, best is to come and attend the run as a runner or by all means be in the audience to watch these awesome runners to cheer them on their way.

The “Classics of the Classic Run”

The slogan of this year is filled  with superb contents.

The theaters on the run … dozens-and-dozens of theater actors, theater musicians and figurant all will be participating at the Flora Marathon run in the 4 person’s relay race.

Companies from the Musicland!

Watch out … 42 kms. of musical points awaits the root for the runners, as foot tapping music will fill the air throughout the 42 kms. route.

The Budapest Operetta Theater’s Choir will entertain the visitors at the Nagymező Str. in front of its building.

Male soldiers of Hungary, the only professional male choir also welcomed the invitation to attend to the 28th Marathon at the crossroad of Andrassy Blvd. – Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Rd.  They will be greeting the runners with an unusual a’capella concert.

… At the 35th km, at the Western Square’s overpass the Music Academy students will encourage the competitors with their Classic Music,.At this point the competition holds the most difficult section on the run.

… Another sensations of last year’s “SPAR Budapest Marathon” was undoubtedly the productions of the National Opera House. Its balcony was filled with the musical wind section. Even though the runners didn’t have the time to watch the show and  by having a “slow walk”,  the cheering fans and the waving chorus made many an unforgettable and captivated pass. The artists of this year will give similar production which most probably dazzle both runners and onlookers standing on the pathway on the Andrássy Blvd. Probably not far from saying, there ain’t anywhere in the world of a marathon with similar production.

For the time being 800 settlement’s runners, from 19 regions of the country will participate and so far more than 2000 competitors from abroad appointed to participate the run from all over the world.

There  ain’t no deadline, so still a chance to pull on your running shoes,  run over to Budapest and go for the Marathon of the Year in Europe. At the last year’s SPAR Budapest Marathon 19 thousand runners where at the start point and three-and-a-half thousand  runners  arrived to the finish line. This year the figures will most probably  hit the four-thousand or more.  Many runners from abroad, being here in the previous years are coming back to have their part again in the Marathon. Compared to the International figures this will be a medium size contest.

Heard at the press call, the organizers emphasized the importance, the connection to joint charitable actions to be connected to the event, i.e. such as for the visually handicapped individuals whom will join the run hand-in-hand with known public figures. Also the wheelchair competitors will be on the run together rolling with voluntary and public figures.

Be ready to boost the Marathon feeling or those whose  foot  can’t stay still join the relay for 4 runners30 km „Coca-Cola Wake Your Body”, 7 km „Mini Marathon” and 2.7 km „Marathon”  to run  for families … There will be blood stream invigorating with the sound of drums, samba, hard rock, blues and jazz, folk musicians and actor’s bands to ensure the rhythm for the runners and the cheering audience.

The awesome sites doesn’t end here,   cause just a short walk and there you are, arrived to the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden (established 1866). We are still in the circle of the Városliget – City Park when we arrive to Hungarian Circus and Variety (first show in 1889). Actually, the surrounding area  at the Városliget -City Park  has so much to offer, not only can admire the visited places but while rolling along  getting hungry  there’s a classy place to eat  at the Városliget Cafe and Bar.

Now here comes the cream on top of the cake  coming back to the place where during the midday hours the press and media representatives were invited  to a pre-official opening of this newly renovated gorgeous interior taking folks back in time with dishes and cafe from the early times.  Along the “Városliget” – City Park’s  Ice Ring, the beautifully renovated building officially opened a new spot in town, the “Városliget Cafe and Bar” offering traditional values.  Beside the press individuals, public figures also attended the opening. The press call was opened by Mr. Stephen Bottyán, Head of project who talked about the conditions of the contract and its fulfillment. As he also added, Quote: ” The actual execution, research, designers and draftees works took 9 months.  It was an enormous challenge, having to have deeply in mind the aspect to create the historical and cultural continuity, presenting the historical values. The implementation only took 3 months. The building was demolished at several parts of the building. A new face was presented with a newly design kitchen and cafe interior. Superb panorama to the skating ring during the season of winter and rowing boats in the summertime can be viewed from any corner of the Vajdahunyad – City Park  Cafe and Bar’s wide windows. The Budapest’s ice rink and the rowing boats  give many locals and tourists much pleasure. It’s one of Europe’s most beBejegyzés előnézetebeautiful open-air ice rink for the skatelovers. One of the house’s popular features comes in the form a  dish:  the “Tányérhús” (Boiled calf-meat in broth) and its history goes like this … This is the finest dish of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. It became very popular because it was a favorite meal of Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria. Soon it spread throughout the entire Monarchy. Hungary included, prepared in the kitchens of aristocrats and bourgeois as well. The Tányérhús is an original  gastro-historical classic, where only the top quality Hungarian meat and veggies, served with special toppings and garnishes.   Beside other specialities of the house is the “Liget Cafe”, rosted, drilled, cooked on the spot, severed aside as like in the old days  with a small glass of fresh water and a mini cookie, just like in the days of 1895.  Cannot leave the place without not tasting the “seal of a delicious meal”. It might as well be a dessert. These are from the old cook books and revives the memory of the Városliget and Budapest during the blissful days of peace in the early nineteen hundred. See some heavenly taste at the slide-show. At the end of the presentation all present were invited to have a taste of the house. The complex currently has 30 people working, but at its mature stage,  this figure may rise 60 people. They also have kids menu and while their yummies are prepared there are available  coloring sheets with crayons  to color the Vajdahunyad Cafe and Bar  and if wish so take their art home.

Looking contemplatively through the huge windows from the Vajdahunyad Cafe and Bar shows a breathtaking scene  to the oldest construction at the City Park, the Vajdahunyad Castle (built between 1896-1908) which was to build in the year 1000, to celebrated the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin (895).  The Vajdahunyad Castle can  easily be reached  from any side of the castle having four bridges connecting this superb site.

Actually, the surrounding area  at the Városliget – City Park  has so much to offer, not only can admire the visited places, but while rolling along  getting hungry  there’s a classy place to eat  at the Városliget Cafe and Bar.

WORLD TOURISM DAY AT THE HUNGARIAN MUSEUM OF TRADE AND TOURISM.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

What a night … All our sence were filled!

Participated by invitation at the 9th event organized by the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism at the District III. l., Crown Square – Old Buda at Budapest.

The event was held on the eve of the occasion of the World Tourism Day, which this time was devoted to one of the key region in the South Transdanubia. Taking into account the conditions in this region and season is no surprise that this event was held at a previous wine cellar at Old Buda. The visitors were welcomed by a glass of clear pure soda water. No wonder … everything has a reason … the choice of the venue was non accidental to be at Old Buda, where the museum is situated, which was previously a wine cellar and was well-know place by Mr. Gyula Krúdy, (1878 –1933) who was a Hungarian writer and journalist. who spent his last days living at this district and often visited the place, as it was at the time being a wine cellar. He was known as being fond of good food, drinks and was weak by heart in falling for ladies  companionship. As a writer, left his thoughts of many superb sites of Old Buda. His writing enlightens the contemporary atmosphere as an echo from the far and past era of the quarter. It was him who here at this place attributed the Krúdy Soda, which was a mixture 9 dl. of wine and 1 dl. of soda water. (Most famous novel of his was the Sinbad stories.) This evening we were taking back-in-time blending literature, gastronomy, fine wines of Szekszárd. More to it, the organizers had taken the audience, not leaving their seats on a pinch of travelling tour experiencing the Zsolnay Quarter at the City of Pécs.

The Hungarian National Tourist Office and the New Western Literary Circle held this evening show along with cultural values of the country in the eyes of artists, highlighting some of the important tourist cities and cultural sites. Since the beginning of the year showing countless landscapes, capturing  images, movies,  literary works, culture, gastronomy and special wines from its specific region

The basic principle of organizing these events is to be in the frame  of „Being West at Homeland” in our country. The presentation was given by Mr.Imre Kiss the museum director – also the author of the book of Soda, who briefly introduced the history of the soda water.

After the presentations our way led us to the theater room, along the way seen hanging on the walls items reminders of the past remit covers, metal add labels, domestic trade, international trade, financial trading, the hospitality industry’s items from hotels and other catering areas, as well history tourism cultural collections. Mr. Imre Csuja took us on an imaginary tour into a rare real world, as he held an inevitable reading of the revived Southern Transdanubia … alittle differently.

thereafter, the organizers showed the way to the cellar, heard at a presentation given by the hosts of the Southern Transdanubia. Ms. Zsuzsa Hegyi, Regional Director for Marketing at the Tourist Office in South Transdanubia who was our hostess and in brief spoked about the region. Quote: „The Southern Transdanubia is situated in a hilly landscape, which has a thousand valleys indented with many small villages. The area has huge forests, fertile river valleys, carefully cultivated gentle slopes characterize this region. Protected areas represent a major eco-tourism base. The rural tourism is well-developed in the region. It’s brimming with luscious wines. These are in taste that makes a difference from other red wine producers throughout Hungary. But the region is not only unique in wine routes, also large in number of special historic values to be seen, and is famous for its thermal waters.”

This evening we were taking back-in-time blending literature, gastronomy, fine wines of Szekszárd from the South Transdanubia region. More to it, the organizers had taken the audience to an imaginary journey to the Zsolnay Quarter at the City of Pécs. Beside the Szekszárd vineyards, the well-known brands are the wines from Villány and Tolna also worthy to mention and to be kept in mind. The region’s gastronomy representative  introduced teritory’s meat products from ranch and farms:  cattle, wild boar, donkey, goose, duck. These meat products were also brought to taste to the event. Mr. Pál Mészáros, from Szekszárd was present introducing his family owned Wine House and Cellar. Spoke about the three different types and flavor of wines he had brought  for introducing and tasting. After the presentations the visitors were invited to taste mouth-watering wines and sworn by many the best red wine in Hungary is from Szekszárd. Many may have heard or already tasted, the rich in flavor red wines from Szekszárd. Szekszárd is a unique brand of red wines, as the winegrowing region is only of a few in Hungary that is considered as one of the oldest vineyards in Hungary. No wonder at all, when we take into account the Meszáros family’s viticulture and oenology is holding on the family’s precious heritage keeping the tradition in making wines.Through the decades this tradition flows from father-to-son in making wines. Just a short story of the Mészáros Winery and Cellar as Mr. Mészáros Pál told me, Quote:”Our family brought the cellar couple of years ago. The place has the original spirit with its original 250 years old bricks. Making extra heavenly taste, mainly red wine isn’t only depending only on the soft hilly landscape, excellent soil, the special micro-climate which led to success.” Right said Mr. Mészáros, but assume much more in deed is needed and that is  the palm hands of the Mészáros Family in blending ancient traditions together with the art of modern wine-making. This evening Mr. Mészáros brought three special wines for tasting. What deeply brought a smile to me was a pleasure of seeing label wasn’t only written in Hungarian language, but also in English language. Have not really had that experiences with other labels to read beside the Hungarian language, oh only when the product is off for export, which we hardly see here in Hungary. Thumbs-up for having to have it written in English language and the tourist and foreigners working in Hungary won’t need to hold under their arms a book to translated what stands on the label. It is written in Hungarian and English language.

Another awesome spot to visit in Budapest is this Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism where three-in-one: the history, culture, gastronomy come alive…

on an evening by sights and sounds and of course the mouth-watering wonderful flavors taking the visitors sence by all means.

Upcoming programs for the literature-loving visitors being able to follow the Hungarian language „Being West at Homeland” see www.itthon.hu … site unfortunately, only in Hungarian language.

Just a  tinny-winny background history to development of advertising shop signs seen at the Museum … In Hungary increased significantly during the Astro-Hungary Empire. The enamel factories began being founded. The enamel industry in the 20th century had all come into existence and evolved continuously in Hungary. The advertising board was the decorative shop sign, usually painted on wood and hung above shops and more often taverns and restaurants and on basis of which the customers recognised and sought them. Publishments to these things and putting out a suitable shop sign began to dwindle in the 2nd half of the XIXth century. First folding shop door were  with wooden boards, later on  colored, enamelled advertising boards. Advertising boards began appearing not only on the shop door and above them, but also in the shop windows and in the shop as well. The most important innovations in enamelling techniques were introduces between 1891 and 1900.  It was during this period when the ground enamel containing cobalt was invented and the use of Cryolite agents were introduced …at the Museum many of these oldie signs are out on the walls  showing the era’s signs. Some of these signs are seen in the slide-show.

NEW MAGENTA CLOTHING STORE OPENED AT THE ARENA SHOPPING CENTER

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Yesterday was a great success at the opening of the

4th new Magenta clothing store at the Arena Shopping Center in Budapest.

The opening held an unconventional fashion show, whereas last year’s Miss Universe Hungary, Ms. Rebekah Karpati, presented Magenta designed  pieces of its autumn collection. This would have had been an ordinary showcase if it would have been presented on a catwalk, but this time the beauty queen showed the collection through a display window. Must say, it was a very original thought despite not really to have had the red carpet to navigate around the corridors, since the shopping center wasn’t constructed to be a catwalk.  It seem like the audience enjoyed a non everyday in manner, the unique first Hungarian fashion show.

During the evening, homemade delicacies and Hungary champagne awaited the invited guests. Among the visitors were well-known public figures, who already knew and are fans of the Magenta brand. To name a couple: Ms. Enikő Détári, actress, Ms. Nelly Fésűs, Ms.Judit Ladinek, Ms.Brigi Erdőhegyi, Ms. Adri Nagy and Ms. Eszti Iszák. They all come cause they were curious about the store opening, shopping and to watch the unconventional fashion show.

The selection of cloths still left the feeling of the summer blades, yet the fall coming closer brought some cosy, classy, warm outfits, like the selection of long-sleeve maxi dress, long trousers, tube dress, basic tops which still can be worn with anything. No matter where you live it comes handy, worthwhile buying basic things in different colours.

This time the update  ain’t as long as usually, but the snaps surely show the mood of exciting  audience on their shopping tour.

In Hungarian language, the horse is called  “Ló” by pronouncing the word would stand in English language  “Low” … i.e. the Horses will go through the “Low Casting” procedure. Yes, the words have different meaning, depending what language it is spoken, interesting  in sence of coincidences.  So, the crew will shop around in Europe, for the proper horse also visiting Baden-Baden. The producer also talked about the background remuneration of the two American actors and director, calculated budget and stated that the three fame make up half of the budget.
