DiningCity – National Restaurant Week

At the end of March was organized this year’s latest National Restaurant Week. Approximately, thirty-five hundred dinning guests posted their experiences to the 137 participating restaurants.
Based on these huge number of reviews the online restaurant guide DiningCity presented the “Best Restaurant of the Restaurant Week” awards to the 16 best restaurants.

From April, 9-15 to please the previous guests and the ones who missed the previous dining days will be able to try the award-winning restaurants and taste their menus for one more extra week.

All the 16 restaurants offer 3-course menus for the original price, these are 8 restaurants for 4900HUF and 8 restaurants for 3300HUF.

Just as at the previous reservations the tables for the Restaurant Week Extra cannot be booked in person or by the phone, only and exclusively on http://www.etteremhet.hu

After booking on the website guests immediately receive an e-mail confirmation about the booking. For the sake of quality hospitality some restaurants offer only a limited amount of tables to be booked.

For a successful booking, the guests are advised to book as soon as possible the chosen restaurant on the homepage, cause you may miss a table at the one to book.

First Beer Festival Gyula – European Central Best Beer Awards

Gyula is a lovely small City and if you are looking for a place where you can have a truly unique atmosphere, the Beer Festival your place.

In Hungary do not just like craft beers only in Budapest, but at the City of Gyula has breweries at this part of the country and they are quite popular as well. Therefore the organizers decided to popularise the Craft Beers and breweries at their venue as well within a Festival.

The goal is to organize this coming festival with high-quality programs, home and cross-breed brewery crafts, and to invite more local and foreigner visitors to Gyula.

During this four days handicraftsmen and street food will be the focus of attention. Few know, but at Gyula will be organized for the first time beer festival and would like to open up this tradition, which has for over brewing beer for three centuries.

The European Central Best Beer Awards2018 Beer Competition will be announced as an accompanying event at the festival, which will be announced for commercial and small breweries and home breweries. The aim of the competition is to promote small craft, crafts and home brewery. In the competition, small brewery brewers (commercially available products) and home breweries start in a separate category.

A national professional conference will also be held as an accompanying event of the festival, which will provide both professional and general public with handy, useful knowledge.

Hungary’s beer status at Dublin Craft Beer Cup – 2018

Again, Hungarian Kraft Beer was recognized as the best in the Dublin International Beer Competition.
Hungarian breweries received  high degree of recognition from numerous domestic small brewery breweries in Ireland’s largest craft beer at the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair.

Dublin Craft Beer Cup 2018 Grand Prize Winner was the one where beer and rail met together with the M63 BULLDOG, and from the same brewery had two more medals received: bronze (327-139, M40 PÚPOS) and one silver medal (M61 NOHAB)… (The figures relates on the plate serial number of the steam  engines. The brewer’s father who also beside as engine driver worked his lifetime along as a brewer and enriched, making him the most successful domestic starter.)
There were also 2 breweries in  Dublin in scaling their beers beside the top: the Hopfanatic and Guri brewery received awards as well:

Decision by “SwimranKing” = Dániel Gyúrta

An end of an awesome era of Hungarian swimming sports has been completed with the announcement of

“SwimranKing” = Dániel Gyúrta

Q: “Making the most difficult decision of my life, I am saying goodbye to competitive swimming. I am not a “give-up type of guy”, but I had to admit that it’s time to let it go. I am grateful to the whole nation for standing behind me and for the fact that I won everything a swimmer may dream of: I was undefeated for 6 years in the world. I will not show my back to the world of pools, Hungarian swimming can rely on me!”

Beside being on the stands so many occasions, received a diploma for sporting action from the International Fair Play Commission (CIFP) at the Paris ceremony in 2013.

He traveled to Norway, where he met with Dale Oen‘s parents and brother Robin in a gala gathering. Gyúrta received an international fair play for his act. As he said at the event: Q: “It can and must be sported that rivals do not seek to destroy each other, but recognize who is the better in noble rivalry.

Sustainable transport – healthy, local food.

The Cargonomia team invites you for the launch of their most recent project: Community Cargobike Sharing System. On Thursday, March, 29 from 6 p.m. – Cargonomia.

The Cargonomia is a center for low-tech, sustainable urban transportation solutions and local food distribution by cargobike. Since they launched their collective in 2015 have offered the possibility to test and borrow cargobikes from the center through direct contact. Have decided to take the next step to make it easier for helping people access cargobicycles and are now launching an open-source online platform offering the possibility to share and borrow cargobikes and trailers all around the city.

The organisers happy to invite you to the presentation of the platform and this new project. Doors Open 6.30 p.m. Welcoming word from Cargonomia’s team 6.45 p.m.  Presentation of the platform, the project and its partners  7 p.m.  Discussion on Cargobike usage in Budapest and how to develop it 8p.m. Music, local organic refreshments from their partners. At 10 p.m. will be held the Afterparty… traveling together by bike to a surprise location!

The “KINGS ON ICE” – Edvin Marton and Evgeni Plushenko – Budapest – 2018.

On a lazy Sunday afternoon, end the day with an awesome evening together with family, friends.

The „Kings on Ice” – Having toured all around the world comes to Hungary again with a superb, unique and fascinating show.

Among the ‘Kings on Ice’ you can see the world-famous Olympic and European figure skating champions: Evgeni Plushenko (Olympic champion), Adelina Sotnikova (Olympic champion), Alexander Smirnov-Yuko Kawaguti (European champion),Florent Amodio (European champion) and last but not least the outstanding Emmy-award winner violinist –  Edvin Marton.

Evgeni Plushenko – the greatest figure skating talent in the world, and multiple Olympic champion. Starting in 1996 he won more than 50 gold medals, and introduced the 4-3-3 combined jump first time in history. It is important to highlight that his gold medals are closely linked to Edvin Marton as Plushenko’s free skating music was specially arranged for him by the famous violinist.

Edvin Marton,  the Emmy-winner violinist recognized around the world enchants the audience with his real artistic treasure playing on the Antonius Stradivarius violin (- 1699-), the gold medalist of the world violin competition, accompanied by the splendor of lavish lights.

You can also admire the knowledge of several other famous stars at the Papp László Budapest Sports Arena during the show. To boost the excitement, the final list of performers will be announced by the organizers at a later date.

In the fascinating and unique production, the figure skaters are harping on the law of gravity, enriching the show with exciting and sometimes dangerous choreography.

Besides the elite of the figure skating you can also enjoy the great classics, like the music of Godfather, which gives a unique essence to the show.

The music of the ‘Kings On Ice’ was partly composed by Edvin Marton.

The show is organized by Danubius Music Productions Office and Art Anzix Theater.

On the heavy metal landscape one of the 50 lineup bands with their depth of the music, huge emphasis on the visual component will be filling the air at the Sport Arena.

The band from Los Angeles, California was formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich (originally went to the US to play tennis) and vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield. This 30-year-old band is still the best.

Their first gig in Hungary was in the MTK Stadium in 1988, then Népstadion hosted the band in 1991 and in 1993, and MTK again in 1999.

Metallica fans had to wait eight years for this news to come alive. The band’s European tour includes Budapest with introducing  their latest album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct.

Newsflash: Renewed Romanesque Hall at the Museum of Fine Arts

The renewed Romanesque Hall of the Museum of Fine Arts will be open to the public, every day from 10 a.m., last admission at 5 p.m. Closing of the Hall starts at 5.40 pm.

Entry is on ʺfirst come, first served”!

No arrange reservations or bookings is needed. The guided tours in the Romanesque Hall is forbidden to everyone, nor even for partly groups.

Due to the limited capacity of the museum hall, the number of visitors is limited, therefore occasionally waiting outside the building can be expected.​

Visitor Rules for the Romanesque Hall … In order to protect our values please consider the following rules during your visit: Touching the walls of the Romanesque Hall is strictly forbidden. Please keep a distance of at least 20 cm from the walls of the Hall.

It is forbidden to bring bottles, food, drink, pets (except guide dogs) into the Hall, or any objects that might harm or endanger the safety of other visitors, employees of the museum or the artworks of the Hall.

The temperature in the Hall is approximately 20°C. It is not obligatory to leave coats and bags in the cloakroom unless they are wet. Kindly ask the visitors to leave travel bags and umbrellas in the cloakroom.

As all around the world, eating, and drinking is forbidden in the Hall. It is also prohibited to smoke in the building including electronic cigarettes.

Taking photographs and recording videos, exclusively for personal use, is permitted in the Hall. Flash photography, mono-pods and tripods are not permitted.

Children below the age of 2 can be taken in the Hall in strollers or in baby carriers.

The Romanesque Hall is accessible for disabled visitors as well.

After this period the museum will be closed, it can be visited again from 31 October 2018.

25th Titanic Filmfest – Budapest – 2018.

The Titanic Filmfest is the biggest international film festival in Hungary. The most outstanding, daring and innovative movies coming to movie lovers in Budapest. In 2018, Budapest celebrates its 25th Titanic Filmfest anniversary. Films from 29 countries, including international premiers are also on the list of the programs.

Four filmmakers will be present at their films. The director of The Shepherd, Jonathan Cenzual Burley, the filmmaker of Bird on a Wire about Leonard Cohen, Tony Palmer, and the two producers of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, Christina Fon and Stevie Salasis.

Cinemas to be screening the films are at the Art Cinemas – as: Uránia, Toldi, Örökmozgó, Puskin.
