(International Guitar Festival is the oldest existing and one of the major guitar events in Hungary bringing together the greatest players and hosting acts from all over the World. It is held on April 12-15, 2018 in Szeged and its region. Amusement for open-minded fans of all things guitar in diverse genres like world music (e.g. flamenco) and astonishing combinations with various art forms. Concerts take place in various venues such as concert halls, music bars, churches or your comfortable coach thanks to the live streaming. Interactive guitar courses for amateurs, students, children who can learn from noted musicians. Exciting competition for the best young stars of classical guitar and showcase with masterclasses, training programs. Networking platform for wits and curious professionals (musicians, managers, festival promoters, music institution directors, producers, music journalists). From 2018, the 19th year of Szeged IGF is involved in EuroStrings, the European Guitar Festival Collaborative which is the first European platform gathering 14 classical guitar festivals from Croatia, Finland, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina. The festival was founded by guitarist-composer David Pavlovits in 1999, he gave concerts in more than 30 countries. He is the head of guitar department at the University of Szeged which is one of the most successful and popular communities of classical guitar in Hungary.)
