Francesca da Rimini – Symphonic fantasy after Dante, op. 32

Liszt: Dante SymphonyDante’s Divine Comedy in poetry, music and images, a cornerstone of European culture, with an endless series of works of literature, fine art and music reflecting on it over the past centuries. In 2002, has been created a massive Gesamtkunstwerk of a production called Liszt, Dante and Doré: The Divine Comedy in music, poetry and painting, which was presented with great success at the Ravenna Festival, the Rome Opera and the Verona Arena. It went on, under the title Multimedia Dante, to be shown in other Italian cities, as well as at the Weimar Art Festival.

In 2005, DanteXperience renewed and extended the show both in terms of its technology and content, turning it into a breath-taking audio-visual journey.

For the Dresden premiere of his Dante Symphony, Liszt planned a „multimedia” performance, with a projection of Bonaventura Genelli’s illustrations of Dante’s work. The costs eventually proved prohibitive, and the plan was abandoned. A few years later Liszt and the young Camille Saint-Saëns performed the Dante Symphony, on two pianos, in the Paris home of Gustave Doré, the famous painter. 150 years on, this event came to suggest a synthesis of Doré’s own breathtaking Dante series and Liszt’s music, making reality of the composer’s dream.

Featuring: MAV Symphony Orchestra, Angelica Girls’ Choir (choirmaster: Zsuzsanna Gráf), Narrator: Chiara Muti. Conductor: Vittorio Bresciani, Assistant to the visual director: Gianluca Brigo. Visual director, artistic leader: Vittorio Bresciani.

New hangar constructing works began at Budapest Airport.

Wizz hangar visual

Heavy machines once again started to roar at Ferenc Liszt Airport  in the area between the two large maintenance and repair hangars. Budapest Airport is building a brand-new hangar for Wizz Air which commences operation of its maintenance base in Budapest from September this year. The general contractor of the new hangar construction is Market Építő Zrt.  No fewer than 68 reinforced concrete piles have been put down into the ground in the area of the new hangar to be built at Budapest Airport – the Wizz Air maintenance/repair hangar project has officially entered the construction phase. The new hangar directly opening to the maintenance apron will be erected by Market Építő Zrt between the existing maintenance hangars operated by Lufthansa Technik and Aeroplex by August, and Wizz Air is expected to move into the new facility already in September. The 15-year lease contract for the new hangar was signed by the airline and Budapest Airport last June.

The 2000-square-meter hangar and 200 square meter service facility will accommodate a single aircraft. In the course of designing the hangar, it was also took into consideration that in the years ahead the Wizz Air fleet may be extended with Airbus A 321 neo aircraft already featuring ‘sharklets’, with a body that is almost 7 meters longer than that of the currently operated A 320 variety. From this spring onwards, Wizz Air is using Budapest Airport as a base for a fleet of 9 aircraft, and line maintenance and minor repairs required in the course of daily operation will be performed in the new hangar.

“This year, one of our largest development projects is the new hangar to be built for Wizz Air with a total investment of close to 1 billion HUF. Wizz Air is the biggest airline partner of Budapest Airport in terms of passenger traffic, and the new hangar is another step towards further strengthening the presence of Wizz on-airport, and the aircraft maintenance business in general.” said René Droese, property director of Budapest Airport. He added, “They operate their aviation unit, their Crew Center, their flight simulator, and their training center at our airport already. The current project shows that we are committed to continued growth and creating new jobs at Ferenc Liszt International Airport . The new hangar makes it possible for Wizz Air to run an even smoother operation here enabling it to perform high-quality line maintenance activities in Budapest.”

The gathering was welcomed by Dénes Gádor – Chairman – Association of South Balaton Wine Route, Ferenc Bújdosó – Chairman – Balatonboglári Hilly Region Municipal Council, Tamás Fekete  – Vice President – Balatonföldvári Small Area Tourism Association. The event was under the patronage of  Mihály Witzmann parliamentarian. This time the venue was at the  Gastro and Entertainment Center at Rádpuszta, whereas all in one the wine makers represented themselves  with the wines from the South Lake Balaton region. The aim of the event was to bring the attention to the South Balaton gastronomy representatives to the rich and high-quality wines and wineries at this region that has to offer. The southern region of Lake Balaton known from long ago of having produced local wines from its wine-growing areas. These wines are not only popular among the locals but for many foreigners who once tasted these wines  and trying in tracing them here is the place to bottle up.

A pitty in a way … in many cases  these wines of the Southern region of Lake Balaton is missing at the  local restaurants, catering establishments. Most of them served, offered wines from Hungary’s other wines regions even though there is huge line up of possibilities to have at these places regional wines. In fact, the red wines of South Lake Balaton are recognized as prestigious prominent wines and received acknowledgments at national and international base.

Following the presentation, the representatives met in person and had ears on the wine makers whilst tasting the rich in taste wines brought to this event by more than 30 wine makers.  thereafter, followed by a short tour  around the Estate Gastro Entertainment Village.  In and around the venue unique hand-carved  sculptures and furniture were all over the place. First stop was to the wine cellar along with its eye-catching exhibition. It was very tastefully arranged with its excellent installation at the collection of the area’s wines and other prominent Hungarian wine from other regions. Also visited the stables at the equestrian center where there is available 21 horses for sporty horseback riding fans, carriage rides and horse show.  The children are not left out to have their own adventure  at the Kids Farm …visiting the poultry yard, having pony rides. Next to the playground there is the air castle the land for rampage. The smaller kids may go to the petting zoo and elder ones may have the opportunity to learn the basics of archery.

The local gastronomy not even looked good but was  yummy served at a real country-style cosy place. It was a real Hungarian dish … roast goose garnishing with braised red cabbage and fried onion mixed with potatoes … oven baked cooked under the sky on an outdoor operating furnaces.

Along the southern shores  nearly forty qualified wine route venues can be visited … wineries, restaurants, accommodations, and craft workshops – await  for interested visitors to get to know this region’s grapes and wine culture, not to mention the breathtaking landscape and meeting traditions on the spot.

These were the wine makers present, serving to taste the region’s fresh, rich in fruity taste, delicious wines: AX & Wine Ltd., BB Chapel Hill, Bujdosó Winery, Buzás Vineyards, Buzássy Winery, Rádpuszta Vineyards, Fáncsi Mountain Winery, Garamvári Vineyards, Gutman Wine Cellar, Hujber winery, AX & Wine Ltd., BB Chapel Hill, Bujdosó Winery, Buzás Vineyards, Buzássy Winery, Rádpuszta Vineyards, Fáncsi Mountain Winery, Garamvári Vineyards,  Gutman Wine Cellar, Hujber Wine Cellar, Icon Wine Cellar, Soldier Winehouse, Small Laki Wine Manufactory, Konyári  Wine Cellar, Koltai Wine Cellar, Légli Vineyard,  Országh Winery Cellar, Podmaniczky Wine Cellar, Pócz Wine Cellar, St. Kristóf (Christopher) Cellar, Topos cellar, Veszprém Cellar.

I know it would not be fair to highlight just a couple of wines, but these fresh and easily consumable wines tasted absolutely worthwhile to give it a try:  Rádpuszta Vineyards at Balatonuszta, the heavenly semi-dry Italian Riesling, Bújdosó Winery at Balatonlelle – ,  Buzás Winery Cellar at  Kötcse, BB Chapel Hill at Boglárlelle – red, white, rosé and sparkling champagne,  Gutman Wine Cellar  at Kötcse – recommended to those who fancy the artisan-organic trend, Skizo Winehouse  at Badacsonytördemic – table and quality wines, Fancsi Hegyi Cellar at Kötcse – chardonnay, Podmaniszky Vineyard and Cellar at  Balatonföldvár,  Mr. Irsai (Irsai Oliver).

Definitely a stunning experience to visit  Rádpuszta Center  where all in one can be visited: the  wine cellar – winery – museum – exhibition hall –  adventure park at your fingertips. Surely this is what is called a Leisure Center!  Also spending a day-or-two at the picked cellar at South Balaton Wine Region.

Several Balaton wineries offer experience all year round to visit their cellar, taste and purchase their wines on the spot at more than 40 wineries.

Fools Day … Flashmobing Silly Walkers in Budapest.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

During the midday hours one of the main Downtown idea in Budapest was the “stage” of outrageous behaviour… with exaggerated footsteps and jerky mannerisms.

The Flashmobing was brought on a super windy and partly rainy day in Budapest. Never-the-less the original joke … silly walks” made its way in Budapest.  The intention was to show how individuals  handle the legendary comedy troupe Monty Python’s Flying Circus on the street of Budapest.   Heard on the way  quite a number of international language speaking folks who were silly walkers and must admit many foreigners joined the gag.

The call was already here in Budapest,  by Miklós Galla – entertainer artist and Steve Hajdú – actors for joining the first flashmob gathering to show,  invite the locals and foreigners handle this physical comedy.

So it proved to-day don’t have to go to neighbours, cause Budapest has Silly Walkers as well. This was a superb occasion for People living in their ordinary lives, to stop for a minute  and to put a little smile on their face.
