Coming  soon, a week-end of the Foundation for Africa will be organising for the 4th time the African Days in Budapest.  The three-days gathering main goal is to bring together little ones and individuals of all age who are interested to have fun and eager to learn new languages. Also having a peck into the  African fashion and enjoying an African fashion show, presenting the African tailor style. Furthermore, Exhibition with Authentic African musical instruments, Language Parade, dishes from Cameroon, African tales, film screening and presentations, sharing stories by the community’s volunteers previously staying in Congo, traditional dancing lessons, bloodcurdling reptiles just giving a hint of what to come. A unique opportunity for beginners to join the Swahili language course.

The exhibition can be visited by wheelchair as well.

“One night in Szarvas!”

Water Theater evening – Bulgakov – Pontius Pilate

On the evening of August, 29., from Ukraine, the Kherson  festival’s award-winning performance Bulgakov – Pontius Pilate – based on the play – The Master and Margarita troupe arrived to the  Water Theater at Szarvas. This was the last  theater performance in the summer closing season.  Before the play awards ceremony the Ukrainian Independence Celebration took place.

Thereafter, the highlight of the night begun with Bulgakov’s work, with subtitles in English and Hungarian. Pontius Pilate was Bulgakov’s Russian-speaking award-winning plays, which was an adaptation of the novel – “The Master and Margarita”. The play was brought by the  Kherson’s – Mikula Kulis Theater – Ukraine to the audience at the Water Theater at Szarvas. The evening’s  protagonist Hasid is famous in his homeland in the film industry. He  was the  protagonist in the movie “Chernobyl”  which will be running at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Master and Margarita is not the only  showing the 20th century Russia, but also one of the vertices of the universal literature. A multi-layered creation interpreted many ways since its was released. It fulfills a  mixture of a lot  genres and styles.  Never-the-less, they form a more or less unified whole. The mysterious history shows the multi-threaded Bulgakov of acts  and the contemporary Moscow.  The play takes us back in time to Biblical Judea area, where Jesus and Pontius Pilate shows the very realistic life, everyday events through the mythical legends in time and space. Brilliant satire and philosophical works of Bulgakov from the XXth century.  The performance actually include our two thousand years. The Mikula Kulis Theater’s   Pilate and Jesus  is processing of personal history, director – Sergei Pavlo Nikolajevich. Brilliant stage venue, superb acting performances, so unique  planning.

Indeed a salute goes out to the extraordinary theatrical performance in also celebrating  the Ukraine’s Independence anniversary. After the Ukraine’s Independence celebration,  Dr. Imre Lázár – Human Resources Department – International Cultural Relations Department, Alexander Zhuravchak – Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Mykhailo Junger – Ukraine interim charge d’affaires, Vaszil Visinanyuk – honorary consul of Hungary,  Mihály Babák – Major of the City of Szarvas, László Szabó – Secretary-Hungarian Theater Company, Dr Peter Hoppál – Secretary of State for Culture – Ministry of Human Resources, Péter Fekete –  Director – Jókai Theater at Békéscsaba and Water Theater at Szarvas, Zoltán Seregi –  Manager Director at Jókai Theater at Békéscsaba, András Casztvan Director – Cervinus Teátrum  Szarvas, Dr. Gyula Fodor – Deputy Rector – II. Rákóczi Transcarpathian Hungarian College, István Balogh – Director  at Ukrainian Cultural and Information Institute, Aleksander Knyiga – Director Kkersoni Mikola Kulisa Theater (Ukraine),  Péter Cseke – Director at Katona József Theater at  Kecskemét, Ilona Darvasi – Director at Turay Ida Theater all  attended  to see the play.

The work only saw the light of day a quarter of a century after the author’s death, 1966-1967. Since then, however, among of the most widely read and analyzed literary works. Surely, one of the largest real classic creations, which have had been still ongoing, processed countless times in the theater and film industry. Was a splendid night at  Szarvas brought superb art by the Ukraine artists  by the  River of Körös at  the Water Theater.

CELEBRATING  TIBOR ZALÁN  60TH BIRTHDAY.

Friends, colleagues, fellow writers, theater lovers gathered together celebrating along with Tibor Zalán –  József Attila Prize-winning poet, writer, painter at his 60th birthday gala evening show. The celebration was held on August, 27. at the Water Theater in  the  he City of Szarvas. The whole show was conducted by his buddy Peter Huzella  -Kossuth Prize-winning composer and guitarist-singer.  Within the celebration  joined the Jókai Theater ‘s artists with performances  written by home and ongoing at the city of Békéscsaba and fellow. The evening show was rolling along from one presentation to the other and  in between the actors all said a few words playing  parts  from the scripts he has written.  A Birthday celebration, especially the 60th would not be without a Birthday Cake… no way and it arrived  in an unusual way … on a vessel from the other side of the River Körös.  The major of Szarvas, the director of the Water Theater and the Jókai theater  members  started to give it a go to pull over the vessel with the use of attached moorings,  and soon  called  out for help tp the audience and many where keeping up their steps  reaching the stage to give a helping hand in  pulling the heavy load! The „Birthday Cake”  arrived with burning torches symbolizing candles and smoke on the water  filled the air.   So  when the vessel was at the bank of the  water theater’s stage  the huge  cake box was opened  naturally by the celebrated Tibor Zalán. The three-story cake suddenly showed levels of his latest book.  Booking signing followed the celebration and everybody in the audience received  a slice of cake to join in the celebration.  There was a high number of audience present and even the director of the Jokai Theater said: Quote: „If this celebration would have had been arranged at the Jokai Theater in Békéscsaba, there the audience would not have fit  in the theater.”  Also added a theater director’s heart is overwhelm when he see this number of  participating audience. Here at Szarvas the locals certainly proved  they are surely theater loving folks.

BUDAPEST – HUNGARY GETS ITS FIRST BITCOIN ATM AT THE ANKER CLUB

Hungary ATM Hungary’s first Bitcoin ATM can now be found in the downtown at Budapest inside of the well-known coffee-house Club Anker. The Octarine Labs-owned ATM was manufcatured by the Lamassu company and will change Hungarian Forint banknotes into Bitcoin in 15 seconds and aims to accommodate those who are afraid of personal Bitcoin or online exchange bitcoin dealings.

An individual can insert a minimum of HUF 2000 and change them into Bitcoin, which will then be transferred to the user’s mobile wallet via QR scanner, or printed on a paper wallet. Bitcoin value is priced via the Bitstamp exchange, a Slovenian-English owned market.

In the event that trouble arises when interacting with the ATM, Octarine Labs offers support in English and Hungarian during Club Anker operating hours.

Octarine Labs CEO Barnabás Debreczeni talked about the bitcoinist.net:

“We want to make sure that we comply with all laws in Hungary. I’m really excited for the ATM to be in this place because it’s really central for Hungarians and tourists as well. I’d love to see 1000 transactions before Christmas. I’m expecting both Hungarians and tourists to come in and use the ATM, especially when tourists will be able to cash out.” Debreczeni said that by next summer, he hopes that tourists will be able to use his ATM to get cash cheaper than they could through traditional ATMs. He added that they already have people interested who are not part of the tech world, saying “The ATM is a catalyzed in a way, because people who are not from the tech world get into this new world or economy through it.”

The Octarine Labs press release says that Forint banknotes are changed into Bitcoin through an English account of the company in order to guarantee compliance with tax regulations and the legal environment. By the end of 2014, Octarine plans to upgrade the ATM so that it can also change bitcoins into Forint banknotes. Debreczeni says, he is aware that the general audience in Hungary is uneducated about Bitcoin, and he believes that the ATM is the most suitable and comprehensible way to conduct Bitcoin education; “an ATM in its physical appearance in a safe public place.”

Octarine Labs was founded in 2012, specializes in IT consultancy and development with a Bitcoin focus, and employs a group of five.

KOREAN CULTURAL CENTER – GAMO PRESENTATION – BUDAPEST

GAMO PRESENTATION

The Korean Cultural Center – Budapest will be having its performance regarding to the ending of the summer season on Monday, 25. starting at 7 p.m. The show is free of charge, only registration is need because of the number of seats are limited.

What is the Gamo? The Gamo is a general term for what the singing and dancing for them and musical instruments used to accompany. The Ga music, dance Moo means. Has existed since ancient times.

Korean music is a tradition which every song, dance and instrumental music one is a complex art form combines. During the concert will be presented what a difference is in the  gamo  genres.

Most probably a unique experience with special rhythms to the visitors in being present, watching the Korean traditional performers.

There is a saying … “A taste of honey is sweeter than wine” here at the Wine festival the honey is on holiday and the saying goes like this … “The taste of wine is sweeter than honey”

… But seriously though … Taste of Hungary, brings the latest of wines at the 23rd. Wine Festival! More than 200 exhibitors from all the wine-growing areas in the country will be present in one place. This year helping the visitors on a tasting routes through the thematically designed primarily less-known domestic wines for the foreigners staying, visiting Budapest by providing a guidance wine culture program.

For those who once stepped up to the hill-side of Budapest knows by now and for those foreigners living, staying, visiting Budapest will have a chance to get into the mood at Central Europe’s largest wine trade event in the capital city of Hungary. The Jewish Summer Festival is usually arranged slowly coming to the end of the season of summer. This year it is going to celebrate its 17th year and by now many Hungarians and foreigners are planning to spend their Indian Summer time getting into the mood to be joining the festival’s arrangements.

Many may know by now the Jewish culture is very rich, so it is not a hard task to come up with new culture programs every year being held not only in Budapest, but also in provincial cities will be present. This year the event will be in connection with the Jewish and Roma Holocaust commemoration. 

Miklós Lukács – dulcimer artist will be giving a concert  titled. “Journey Back Home.” Also will be present Ninck Roth – saxophone artist living in Ireland, of Jewish descent,  and awesome Knower of the Jewish and Balkan folk music. Miklós Lukács  will perform a monument within achieving Miklós Radnóti‘s  verse, prose, music  in a unique dialogue.  Róbert Alföldi – actor director along with the Experts band.

On Tuesday, September, 2, at the Goldmark Hall a special monodrama lecture will be held. Vera Förster “Hang on” is upon the basis autobiography writing. “The Budapest Girl” will be played by actress Ágnes Olasz. It is a drama about a young girl over the fate of Hungarian Jewry II. Suffered the horrors of World War II, shared our past confronts the viewer and makes space for reflection. The main character is not Jewish girl, yet her resistance is only through love. This led her to Auschwitz. That is where she becomes an adult. She survived and become a well-known psychologist in England. Péter Generdás  – musician, music pulls the story … how to live on the anti-Semitism.

A unique events will fulfill the festival by the Budapest Dance Theater and the National Dance Theater co-production with the little girl, Anne Frank. The piece will be introduced by the Budapest Dance Theater.

The film is art, poetry and music are closely linked to each other in memory of Robert Capa evening. The program consists of two-part film. First, a new Hungarian documentary is still alive, the recollections of close friends, so far little-known details enrich the life story of world-renowned photographers. In the second part of the program the world-renowned photographer Bruno’s life story –  Cicchetti  – Italian poet, screenwriter processed using poems. The poems set to music by Ferenc Jávori – Head of the Budapest Klezmer Band.  In addition to the festival in Budapest will be the one of the world’s best klezmer band – Gitanes Blondes, but the real attraction is to come by Giora Feidman often called as the king of klezmer music. The term is derived from a Hebrew word meaning the Klez instrument, however, has been one of the klezmer genre, which is among the mostly Yiddish-speaking Eastern European Jews born in the nineteen hundreds. Giora Feidman one of the greatest draftsman of our time, special music convey an authentic message. Versatile, experimenting, clarinet, performing around theworld’s famous concert hall.

During the festival week will be not all about only Jewish and non-Jewish melodies, nor about theaters but holding a gathering of multi-arts events, which will be a dominant part of photographs as well.

XXXV. JUBILEE NATIONAL WINE COMPETITION – BUDAPEST – 2014.

Hungary’s tradition in having the largest wine muster …  the XXXV. National Wine Competition  this year was at Mór, which was organized by the National Council of Wine Communities (HNT).

Early afternoon at the Budapest Music Center  (BMC) was held this year’s  National Wine competition award ceremony, whereas from the four corners of  Hungry’s wine makers,  vineyard owners and family companies, small wineries, the so-called number of „Best Wine of the Year” awarded  wine makers and yet hardly known producers were present along with the media representatives. The wine makers previously headed to Mór in dimensioned their wine products and let alone hosted the competitors with an awesome hospitality.  Only Csongrád county had not signed in the competition. In the year 2013, a total of 319 samples entered the competition which were  judged by local and regional professionals.  Number of samples submitted  this year was 382 wines and champagne. Also international committee was present. The jury consisted of 6-7 members of  professional wine experts. The number of competitors were 118. From the total number of samples  30% received different remuneration. The jury voted 3 big gold, 37 gold and 69 silver prizes were distributed to the excellent wine makers. The XXXV. Jubilee National Wine Competition ended with the result announcement and giving over the prizes by Assistant Secretary of State for Defence dr. Eliza Kiss along with President Tamás Torna (HNT) and András Horkay President of the (OBV). Learnt there were   extremely high entries especially from the wine makers territories of  Villány, Kunsági and Szekszárd. Regarding to the number of competitors  compared to the previous year, 17% more wineries kept in mind the importance of being as competitors  with their wines at one of Hungary’s most important competition. This time in the top 10 grape varieties two from the Carpathian Basin was among the naturalized species. These were: Italian Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Irsai Oliver. It has been said that the most successful female oenologist was Viola Mak Vikmanné and under the  age of 35 years, the young winemaker  Péter Mészáros was recognized. It was told that huge emphasis was put on display in the price and value ratio to help the buyers in finding, having their own beloved wines. The BEST Buy WHITE was the Sauvignon blanc from the Wine Merchant and Production Ltd. The BEST Buy RED was the Hajós-Baja Cabernet Sauvignon from Csaba Koch.  This year, three sophisticated wines had reached the Gold prize …  the Szekszárdi  and the Tokaj wine region receiving the title:  “Honor of Producing”. These were the Mészáros Winehouse,  Puklus  and Takler Winery Cellar. The Puklus Cellar received the Big Gold prize with their „Tokaji Muscat Aszú Essence” from 2003. Dr. József Brazsil, from the Western part of Lake Balaton receiving the Gold prize with the „Riesling Silvaner„ from 2013. The Borbély Family Winery with its “Ice Wine – Italian Reisling”  from Badacsony – Lake Balaton was award with the Gold prize as the best vintage wine. Éva Gálné Dignisz winemaker is by now a regular competitor at Hungary’s wine competitions. This time Eve Gálné Dignisz  – Gal Vineyards and Winery received the Gold prize  for her „Riesling” from 2013.  The Best „Rosé” Gold prize went out to the Szöllősi  Cellar Ltd.   from  Transdanubia region. As the Best Red Wine came from the Mészáros Wine House receiving the Gold prize with its „Merlot Reserve” from 2011., Szekszárd. The Best carbonated products Gold prize winners were given to  the Nyilasi Cellar with its „Fizzyzzz” – 2013., and the „Chardonnay Brut” – 2011 produced by the Törley Champagne Cellars.

 At the end of the prize winner’s ceremony, the competitors,  invited guests and the media representatives were invited to go for tasting the Gold and Silver  prized  superb wines.

THE VENUE AT THE CITY OF GYULA THE CURTAIN FELL DOWN … ENDING THE 10TH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

NOTHING STAYS FOREVER … AND EVEN THE GOOD HAS LEFT … AT LEAST FOR  A YEAR TO COME!

Here’s a little overview to The-End of the Xth Shakespeare festival … 

Between June 27. and August, 9., the Gyula Shakespeare Festival, held its 51st season, whereas 60 programs were for spectators to enjoy. Within this number 10 to purchase ticket and the rest was free of charge. Overall, 27.500 visitors were interested to be a part at the Shakespeare Festival arrangements. Arriving from abroad were from twelve countries. Six hundred professionals and one thousand  amateur artists within three new presentations holding four festivals at Gyula.

The festival artistic high points was earned by presenting  probably the two out most classical works of Shakespeare:. On the first day A Midsummer Night’s Dream brought to Gyula by the Globe Theater from London and the Macbeth  play by the St. Petersburg Baltic House Festival Theater, director – Luk Perceval. Both play the performances attracted a full house.  Lectures were given by the Subotica Hungarian People’s Branch Theater.

For the first in Hungary, Gyula held the Fringe Festival, where street theater productions and folks could hook on some marvelous  concerts. Projected movies, was a two-day international conference to bring together leading researchers of Shakespeare and secondary school teachers, students filled the city’slibraryhall. Processing sonnets in jazz music, pop, classical and contemporary music genre made the night by the invited artists from around the homeland and abroad.

Workshop was organized for secondary school students. Contemporary menu was served with the taste of Shakespeare’s delights at one of the local restaurant. The festival organizers deemed a success at this year’s festival.

HUNGARY IS READY IN HOUSING THE 2ND JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP – 2014.

Hungarians were spoiled by our superb swimmers at the European Swimming Championship in 2012 … whereas the 9 Gold, 10 Silver and 7 Bronze were in our swimmers neck before the London’s Olympic  Games. That was the BEST Hungarian performance ever said, never-the-less …

We all wished to be spoiled again in 2014!

 Where: Baltonfüred (Lake Balaton) – Hungary

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) unfortunately had to change venue from Eilat – Israel because of the unsteady situation at the settlements in the Israel. Balatonfüred – Hungary was awarded this year to organize the World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships. Also added it was overwhelming to hear this  result as Balatonfüred having beating behind countries as Dubai – UAE,  Setúbal – Portugal and Barcelona – Spain .

This new situation was out just 40 days  previously to the World Cup, but the organizers were optimistic that the championship will be like floating on smooth waters said Tamás Gyárfás – president of the Hungarian Swimming Federation, FINA Vice President opened words were at this morning’s press conference.  Quote: “It is heartwarming to have the waresome champions on the spot  here to-day at the press conference at  the Margaret Island – Thermal Hotel and having high hopes to have same great  swimmers in the future generations. Continued …  “It was an enormous value of having present the recently winning 3-3 European Championship gold medals in both the long László Czech and Katinka Hosszú at Debrecen.” Katinka said,  she does not wish to predict in any numerical predictions, but she will be up to do her best. László Czech treble is not basically the goal, but will do his best  to ensure to outbreaks of the series reached since 2004 receiving and continuing in having in the gold in the coming days at the German capital. With Daniel Gyurta talked through a telephone connection and   there were other excellence at the press conference. Gyárfás  added: Quote “We can be proud and show the examples to the young ones heading into the pools in having their dreams come true.”

Tamás Gyárfás emphasized that it was a huge advantage in decision in  having  the Junior international Swimming World Cup in Hungary after the awesome success at the water polo European Championship in Hungary, whereas d the FINA superiors of eight  visited  the venue a month ago and already learn the success housing the European Association’s second series of the open water swimming Europe Cup. Therefore  managed to quickly reconcile István Boka – major of the city of Balatonfüred.

According to László Kiss, the swimmers coach admitted, five gold medals is a result to be satisfied. The goal is to maintain their place in the medal table at the leading edge, after all, the Euro-ken regularly managed to close down in the top three which also was reached  recently in 2012 Debrecen … straight out of the lead in the Hungarian national team.

On the Lake Balaton will be 21 vessels, including the  water policing and rescue vessels will be  are watching  over the Lake.  Insuring the health care, the Oxyteam’s  senior doctor  Dr. Tibor Nagy  will be present throughout the swimming games,  said István Bóka – major Balatonfüred.   Impressing view will be supported by The Telekom with giant projectors placed on the coast to spot more and more what is happening at Balatonfüred at the Lake.

Gábor Gellért – open-water coach announced at the press conference junior swimmers from Australia onwards from Syria to Italy, including the Chinese,  Kazakhs and  Americans are joining the event.

The junior’s will be divided in two age groups (14-16 years and 17-18 years), boys and girls will take the plunge in races of 5km for the youngest category and 7.5km for the oldest.

Entries deadline date: August 10, 2014.

Apart from individual events, a 3km Team Event composed of three swimmers will be also organised for both age categories.

Last but not least, Gyárfás noted that the purpose of the competition is also a  kind of test to treated as if  it would be the great World Cup year of 2021. Also those who return home from leaving Hungary say: “Hungary was fantastic hosts and might want to come back more frequently to be at prestigious events!
