Another highlight to the Travel Fair 2015 is truly fun for kids and adults as visiting the LEGO® program. On the map eye catching of a total of 10 emblematic buildings and symbol of Hungary in 3D cannot be missed to visited to see. A lot of LEGO pieces will await for the  adventurous visitors having 15 tables around the map in helping to build the map with the pictures of the country.

Mentioning a couple of Hungarian exhibitors worthwhile to keep in mind to plan for the next visit for a traditional holiday and share family programmes in the coming seasons: The Coronation festival coming up in August at Székesfehérvár. Fresh Fruit Beers from Szent András Brewery. Found out it was prepared for about sixteen months, but it paid the time spent, as it turned into a great success by the beer lovers and on the market.Their strongest light beer was obsessed with experimentation and the challenge was to find out what is the highest rate of ABV to reach in a light lager style using domestic technology reaching 11.7%. This became the strongest one running called Pöröly (the sledgehammer).

The city of Szolnok presented with rich with spectacular tourist attraction and the latest is shortly to be open called  “Sörárium” (Foaming gastronomic cult) to the public with a unique beer interactive museum and cultural space, which not only enriches the city’s tourism offering high standard of attractions dormant for many years Szolnok’s beer gastronomy. The Sörárium itself will have a unique museum that processes associated with beer gastronomic cultural themes, using innovative technology elements. At the exhibition the spectacular brewery the visitors can take part in the brewing process. Also as an integral part of the Art Museum and pub with wax figures of the contemporary gastronomic choices  can be tasted the locally made handicrafts beers.

The Kumánia Hotel … can be found between Szolnok and Debrecen in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, nearly 50 kilometres from Szolnok. Guests keen on cultural and outdoor programs can go for horse-riding, carriage rides, archery, ethnographic exhibitions and the Straw World. The thermal water at Kisújszállás date back to the early 1930s. The spa at its present was open in 1960 and since then is available all year round. It has become a real attraction. Beside the numerous wellness services, tennis, beach football is at the fingertips for the healing individuals. Been there for a couple of days and definitely worthwhile in having to shoot, relax some days.

Another reminder heard at the Travel Exhibition was for April  when the XVIth International „Kisüsti” Pálinka Festival and Fair will take place between April, 17-19.2015. at the City of Gyula. So again at Gyula, the Pálinka will stand as the capital of Hungarian.

Continuing more update coming soon connected to below …

https://rollinginbudapest.com/2015/01/22/jose-cura-andrea-maho-hungarian-studio-orchestra-unique-concert-budapest/

José Cura  … kept as the 4th tenor … visited Budapest attending at a private press conference on Monday, February,9. together with Andrea Mahó before giving their joint concert.

Found out that the so-called „pop-music” concert will be heard for the first time in Hungary. The Argentine star tenor with Andrea Mahó concert will take place at the Papp László Sports Arena in Budapest, where the fantastic musical background will be supported by the Hungarian Studio Orchester. Also was announced, the concert will be highlighted with the presence of 60 member of the Hungarian  children choir. An addition to José Cura and Andrea Mahó, Zoltán Miller will  also perform at the concert.

Cura was a bit confused by giving the title of this concert as „crossover”, as he said Q.:”It is meaningless, cause there is only good and bad music the rest os snobbery.  Some operas specifically reminds the audience of pop music melodies and it good the way it is. Of course there are other operas with heavier music and for some folks it is boring”

For Cura,  who have had abroad already several times similar concerts  said Q.: „Having these „lighter concerts” , it is a kinda relaxing, breathing “fresh air” in between the dramatic roles on the opera stages”

Noted that he has been continuously visiting Hungary for over 15 years.  It is like coming home … during these year tied friendships with members of the opera house and with many musicians. He said after the request to give a concert in Budapest he was told this would be a joint performance with Andrea Mahó who he previously have not known, but when he listened to her recordings … immediately said Yes!

He added, Andrea has a special voice and stage presence. She has an outstanding sound range that not many singers have. There are a lot of singers in the pop world, but many genre do not stand up to scrutiny.

Mahó Andrea said: Q.: „My long time awaited dream is now to come true, I appreciates the art of Cura. The concert program is built bringing  are own ideas of which songs we would like to be included. Naturally, those songs counted that are close to both of us. So the evening will be fulfilled with well-known pop hits, musicals duets … worldwide known popular hits from the Beatles, musical tunes from the West Side Story will hopefully tingle the ears of the audience.”

My personal question to José Cura was  Q.: „Your life is filled with so many outstanding professions as: opera singer, composer, conductor, actor and teacher, photographer, businessman, black belt in Kung-fu, a body builder … have you any dream you haven’t achieved yet in your professional life?”  The answer was short and very simple. A.: “I have reach in my professional life the top. I am very family oriented person and I am awaiting for my personal dream to come true, which is for my children to bring some grandchildren into my life.”

Another Q. ” What do you  think about easy or not, singing pop and musical songs instead of opera? José Cura A.: “It takes more concentration and is a challenge to make sure that the songs  from the pop music or musical will not switch over singing them like being a classic opera.”

Once José Cura said … “I pray to God to bring peace to those artistic souls who listen to my music” Well the audience will have the chance to feel his mission.

Purchasing ticket on the spot or through internet.

Herald News – Photo exhibition “Stones’ in use for something else” – Alpern Bernadette

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Museum of Ethnographic – District V. – 12. Kossuth Lajos Square – Budapest

The photo exhibition will be open until March, 8. 2015.

The opening ceremony on January, 30., was led by Ilan Mor – Israel’s ambassador to Hungary and journalist Ronen Dorfen who presented the project of the “Stones’ in use for something else” by photographer Alpern Bernadette.

Bernadette Alpern – photographer’s got fully addicted to take snaps of buildings of once busy Jewish cultural and religious life’s venue, which are still standing in the historical centers of the European Jewry. So she began her project with a genealogical research. Her grandfather forced her parents to move from Sárbogárd to Budapest at the age of 18 due to family issues. The grandfather at the age of 65 asked her father to go back and see his childhood home. This didn’t happen because in the meantime he has gone ahead. Years later Alpern, as studying at Kaposvár, past often Sárbogárd were her grandfather lived and planned one day she will stop over the place. When the final day happened went to the town-hall but she left without success, cause after 71 years nothing remained from the old-time only the street’s name. The old synagogue stood on the same street but was in use as a second-hand furniture and cloth store.

Sárbogárd’s history of Jewish community goes back to the 18th century. The synagogue was built-in 1879. an beside stood  the rabbi’s house and an elementary school. Way back the community had 500 members, but during the Holocaust in 1944 was completely demolished. To-day,  235 jews known names are listed on the Holocaust memorial and only a few tens survived and came back to their town. In 1960, the synagogue was sold. At the loft still lays is mud, dust and bird droppings religious books. Seems like no religious community took or have knowledge about them. To-day the building is used as a private store, operated by a Romanian man. Little can be discovered on the inside walls of the original use. Only the walled windows are reminiscent of the “Gate of Mercy of Jerusalem”. At this stage she took her first photos and later it became the series which led her as a result with an article in the Israel Hayom newspaper with the contribution of journalist Romen Dorfan.

In 2013 Bernadette Alpern granted funding by the European Association for Jewish Culture to set out on a journey across Europe to explore and documentary synagogue buildings … the stones that are in use for another purpose.

This introduction will hopefully give a hint in advance to the visitors of what to see on exhibition at the Museum of  Ethnography  in Budapest.

NEVER AGAIN!!! In capital letters … International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

January, 27. 2015. Budapest.

The liberation of the Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp memorial service was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary on Sunday at the Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest.

During the event Lieselore Cyrus, Germany Ambassador emphasized, Auschwitz was inhuman of suffers, disenfranchisement, this was absolutely nadir in the history of civilization. The liberation of the former camp fills our soul in mourning and shame and we must never forget of the Jews and other victims  who had been deprived of their rights, their lives, their human dignity. Human dignity is inviolable and the most precious treasure. The German ambassador stressed out that Europe to-day is no place for intolerance, xenophobia and racist ideologies.

Ilan Mor, Israel’s ambassador to Budapest, he said that anti-Semitism has increased over the past few years. Physical security of Jews all around the world in danger. The fight against anti-Semitism is not just a matter of the Jews, but the overall challenge. Added,  that those who value the fundamental human values, freedom, must work together to combat anti-Semitism. The diplomat pointed out that those who deny the Holocaust, Israel is considered illegitimate, and all forms of denying Holocaust is a form of anti-Semitism. European leaders have to assess what they can do against anti-Semitism, and must work together in this fight. The ambassador believes the anniversary is a good occasion to remember the past and commit ourselves in building a better future.

Roman Kowalski Polish ambassador to Budapest sent a message read by Katarzyna Sitko, director of the Polish Institute in Budapest. The diplomat noted the Holocaust is in the Polish nation’s memory. It is an  important part in the Polish history. Even though the past history can not be changed, but it can and must be done by deducting from the lessons and to learn all about what happened  … for this tragedy there is no excuse. The ambassador underlined, have to get all manifestations of hatred, and responsibility is our duty to remember what happened.

György Haraszti – the Holocaust Documentation Center and the Chairman of the Memorial Collection Foundation Board of Trustees has pointed out that to-day’s commemoration is not about our grief, the sorrow, but about our better common future which will be pledge for our survivors who are here after so many terrible horrors. He has high hopes that history taught the lesson and managed to learn something from what happened and they do not repeat it.
