Additional report to the 93rd. Hungarian Derby and Culinary “Gastroangyal” Festival – Kincsem Park – 2015.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

A peak into the culinary side at the Hungarian Derby. Visitors having a break from the Derby strolling along and stop by the Istvándy stand were offered several wine products for tasting and to buy those bottles wines for another day. Their winery is at the northern part of Lake Balaton which is  a short drive from Badacsony just a short  drive to Káptalantóti  to the Istvándy winery. Their winery most probably will be remembered not only whilst staying in Hungary. The emotional attitude of the family toward not only a drop of their wines, but also their mouth-watering 100% grape juice with no artificial ingredient is something your sence in tasting shall never forget. Their own winery, home-made food and guesthouse is worth to visit.

Beside many wine makers on the spot, just outlining one stand stopping by was the G&D handmade pastries from Salgótarján, to see, taste the superb cakes which are masterpieces in the contemporary art work. The popular macaroons rich in tastes were over in more than a dozen flavors.

Probably ain’t on my own saying, many folks are sick and tired to been having a lot of “plastic” store cakes? Well need not have to give it up looking for delicious delights and of course, if travelling to Salgótarján probably will make it two-or three cakes.

In the meantime, the latest news heard from Gellért Szó – confectioner, they entered the competition to deliver the Hungary’s National Cake on August, 20. Hungary’s Nation Day. The G&D is one in the first three confectionery cakes competition voted in the third and fourth by the jury. Gellért Szó at the Derby and Gastronomy Festival said: Quote: „This year it was a very strong competition to be launching the title of „Hungary’s cake 2015. It was so difficult to judge, because of the strong field. In addition to the originally planned three per/cake but on a fourth vote the G&D also entered in the final.”

The G&D cakes to be in the final Gellért Szó in the run finished at third place with his: “Paloc-noble caramel cake with sour cherries and hazelnuts” … and in the fourth place: “Pannonhalma hazelnut cake with apricot pálinka.” Very strong field this year was launched  for the title of Hungary’s National Cake. Surely, the jury will have hard time to choose the best-of-the-best cake for   Hungary’s  National Day. It was so difficult to judge, in addition to the originally planned three per/cake on a fourth and beside the third cake made by Gellért Szó the fourth was also voted to be in the final.

Even having heatwaves (38C in the shade) swept through the festival, the atmosphere was high and cooling down a bit at many wine stands, farmers products, street food and restaurants were pretty crowed.

Probably, ain’t on my own by saying, many folks are sick and tired to been having a lot of “plastic” store cakes? Well, need not have to give it up, because more-and-more fantastic pastries are made throughout Hungary.

Red Bull Air Race back in town!

Heard about another highlight to be coming soon that was  announced on Tuesday, June, 17. at the Hard Rock Cafe in Budapest at the press gathering  … This year again after five-year break, the world’s best pilots will zig…zag above the sky over  the River Danube in Budapest – Hungary!

The worldwide well-known by Red Bull fans pilot – Péter Besenyei will again kick off in style …. above and under the Chain Bridge … in the series of the world’s fastest motor sport with his one-and-only Hungarian made plan, as we heard at to-day’s press conference. He said he is the only pilot in the air race flying without the American-made plans like the other air racers.

In 2009 around 650,000 spectators fully crowed along the banks of the River Danube to watch the breathtaking Air Race World Championship. Most probably after missing this awesome race for so long, the number of visitors to watch the live competition will increase.

Péter Besenyei is a renowned Hungarian aerobatics pilot and world champion air racer. He decided to become a pilot at the age of 15.  He flew a glider for the first time. In 1976  he entered his first flying competition by piloting a glider and showed his talent, finishing in second place.

He won several titles as an aerobatics pilot and in national and international championships. He won his first gold medal in 1982 at the Austrian National Championships. His specialty is free-style aerobatics. He invented a number of original snap rolls. In 1984., introducing his “knife-edge spin” quite a few spectators skipped their breath.  In 1995 Péter Besenyei won 2 gold and 2 silver medals and he was named the most  successful aerobatics pilot of his time. In 2001 for the first time Besenyei flew upside down under the Chain Bridge in Budapest above the River Danube.  It is a maneuver that became a standard in air races to-day…. and naturally he will not leave this performance out at this year’s Red Bull championship.

July, 24 – 26 – 2015.

Many may be aware … but as a refresher, in brief about the Hungaroring! It was built almost three decades ago as a rarity, the first one beyond the Iron Curtain and now it is still special as the 3rd. behind Monte-Carlo and Monza to have continuously featured in the year’s race calendar.  The racing circus  at Mogyoród is preparing a superb event this year on its  30th anniversary of the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix. To this forthcoming occasion the organizer staff have been planning a jubilee concert as to pay homage to its history of the three decades Hungarian Formula 1. with special additional programs Formula 1 fans and … an awesome Jubilee concert!

At the end of Friday’s free practice within the collaboration Hungary’s well-known, best musicians, singers and groups will entertain the audience. These musicians were selected by the organizer staff, which was not at all an easy task to make the final decision to bring on stage on this special occasion. Finally, the 30 Hungarian individuals in the music business were chosen, which was a tough job, when you consider how many extraordinary good musicians are in Hungary. Finally the selection was made, so those interested in the Formula1 Circus will receive an extra gift added to the 30 jubilee as  to see  the well-known musician  and hear several music styles, pops-on-the pops presented by a short concert.

At the press conference of to-day at the Hard Rock Cafe – Budapest, was revealed by the huge number of stars showing up,  to talk about their own connection to the sport cars and the Hungaroring Formula1.  Most of them have only been watching the circus through TV. Some been out at the Hungaroring as spectators and for some will be the first time to be at the race.

So after an extraordinary exciting day, when the sun goes down you can relax next by listening to concerts. Who will be the performers? … the list is long, so see the performers names rolling in the side-show. Most probably, all the visitors will find Taste-of- Their-Own-Music.
