The distinctively Southeast Asian form of artistic expression can be traced through the region’s textile art. The exhibition Nagas, Birds, Elephants. Traditional Dress from Mainland Southeast Asia have the aim of offering a glimpse into the artistic language of this region and its people and of presenting some of the characteristic ways in which they express their art. The intention is to provide an overview of change and constancy, and to unravel the relationship between these two extremes, by taking a closer look at examples of textile art.

Ticket office opening hours … Tuesday-Sunday: 10 a.m. – 5.15 p.m. Visitors are admitted to the museum until the ticket office closes.

Entrances fees … Ticket prices:
Full price (adult) – 1000HUF, Student ticket (age 6-26), pensioner’s ticket (age 62-70)- HUF 500HUF, Family ticket (2 adults and their children) – 2300HUF.

Free admission … applicable to Hungarian citizens and citizens of the European Economic Area) … Under 6 years old, Over 70 years old (with an I.D.), Disabled people + 1 attendant, Budapest Card holders, Members of ICOM and ICOMOS, Press card holder (valid for the given year), Tour guide certificate holders, Discount … MÁV IC card holders: 10%
