In order to maintain its original values along with a fresh design the festival program has also been expanded and the technical conditions of the stages, yards were improved.

The organizers this year paid special attention to programs attracting young people, so families will find numerous programs for children. Besides the stage of the pop/rock music there is a greater focus on theatre, folk music, classical music, literary events, exhibitions and emphasis is put on engaging more people in environmental issues and „green“ topics. “Our mission is to draw more people to arts in a fun and easy-going way and introduce them to the values of the folk art, give them the opportunity to listen to high-quality jazz, pop, rock music and attend classical music concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions – as well as take part in excursions and just simply learn about the local values and the beauty of the local natural surroundings. The Valley of Arts‘ audience is a very enthusiastic crowd, a fantastic community and this community is the one that we would like to please and expand.”- said Natalia Oszkó-Jakab, the program and marketing director of the Valley of Arts Festival.

“Budapest Brand” … New Tourism Development!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The development of quality tourism, attracting foreign guests, the ability to pay is the purpose of the new tourism development concept, which will be completed by the end of the year … with these words started the press conference  by Gustav Bienerth – tourism commissioner on Sunday at the Szamos Marzipan Gourmet House in Budapest. Gustav Bienerth continued, that in 2015, 3.8 million tourists visited the capital, of which 3.2 million arrived from abroad. This means 2/3 of foreigners main target is Budapest and 1/3 visit Lake Balaton and its surroundings.  The Government regards the Hungarian tourism is underpriced, bringing up as an example to the rates in Vienna only for Euro net 100.6, 79.1 Euro in Prague and in Budapest 73.5.Euro.

He also emphasized the goal of the Hungarian Agency for Tourism (MTÜ), is to have tourism development based on the price competition, and also serve the development of quality tourism, which is indeed necessary to win the ability to pay for foreign guests.

He highlighted the capital’s tourist image of a cultural, entertainment, sporting events, such as the magnificent venue of the Red Bull Air Race (taking place to-day at its 9th occasion in Budapest),  the 2017’s water world championships, the 2020 European Football Championship, the 2024 Summer Olympics Games and many forthcoming major events to be hold in Hungary.

Last but not least mentioned the concept that fits into the Hauszmann-plan for the renovation of the Castle District, and also take into account the opportunities such as in the field of building a brand new conference center in order to attract the conference tourism. Keeping that in mind there are already plans to build a brand new conference center to be able to accommodate for 4000 individuals to organize mass conferences.

For not only opera lovers, here is an upcoming date better to keep in mind … August, 10 –  Tenor Plácido Domingo will hold a concert  free of charge at the St. Stephen’s Basilica – Budapest.

Heraldnews … Aviation Heroes – July, 16 – 17. 2016. – Budapest’s Red Bull Air Race … Your place to be!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

To-day was held a press conference to share the update for the coming week-end organised on the banks of the River Danube. It will be the awaited most exciting race to come.  Appearing high above, the Red Bull Air Race will shoot off for the 9th occasion in the capital of Hungary and having its 70th international race. The only female pilot, Mélanie Astles, the series on flight and sports director – Clemens Jaeger, and the sport’s „Godfather” – Péter Bessenyei and CEO, Zsolt Gyulay – Hungaroring Sport Zrt held the press conference.

The most exciting air race is to come with 14 pilots to cut through the air waves. Since 2002 were first developed the specially designed aerial racetracks,  the unique inflatable pylons forming the Air Gates, were first developed in 2002. They are constructed to be robust and safe. If by any means during the event of a pylon hit it can be fixed, repaired by a minute.

Zsolt Gyula said Q.: „I think it is right to feel a little bit of our own series, as we were to witness the birth of the sport. In 2003, in Austria and Hungary, and at the Tököl airport started to bring fame and conquer to this exciting race. The series has always been arranged at the most popular site in Budapest. In 2009, there were 650 thousand spectators excited all the way through the 2 days air race. The huge interest in constantly on.The spectators on the spot will be witnessing the breathtaking race at the extraordinary Red Bull Air Race.” Also added, the Red Bull Air Race the visual sight unlike any other. The secret of high-speed, low altitude and extreme maneuverability lies in the combination, which is really just the world’s most experienced and best pilots capable to do so!

Clemens Jaeger – One of the characteristics of this year’s track will be the modified path, which consists of three separate pylon and the usual distance of 125 meters between the pylons changed – it will be interesting to see how the pilots will cope with this new format. At Budapest is the only venue where the air race is sitting in the heart of the city, so he said.

The legendary Hungarian air racerPéter Besenyei – a.k.a. “Godfather” to his fans need not to be introduced. Actually, he was the one who after retiring from the race in 2015 who was the brainchild of the fastest and most spectacular Motorsports’ idea. So Besenyei will be on the road again, I mean up… up in the air again! The fans of air race for the last time can follow live, slicing through the air.  This will be the occasion when and where he will officially bid farewell to his fans at this coming Red Bull Air Race. As he told at the press conference, he is very happy to do so, cause there at least he may express his gratitude to the Air Race domestic audience and thank the love that came from them during the recent years. He admitted the flight, the track itself will be missing, while all the other inherent organizations and meetings are not.

At the 2 days air race, the first woman to confront the male air racers, namely… Mélanie Astles is a five time French Aerobatic Champion who has earned top ten rankings at the World and European aerobatics, is now a new member of the Challenger Cup, she’s writing history as the first woman ever to compete in the Red Bull Air Race. At the Budapest looking forward of vast experience. So far-seeing a part of the capital she admitted it is a historical city and looking forward against the opposition. One of the biggest challenges will be the heat … yepp insupportable, and ont he other hand if it gets windy, because the wind along the river against may blow. She previously heard that the gates are close enough to each other here, so the speed will be the factor.

For this special air race taking in place in Budapest, she changed the painting signs on her white helmet to “Les Ailes du Petit Prince”, which stands for the name of a  French organization that intends to turn the dreams into reality of seriously ill children.  So as the ambassador she will be carrying carry with herself symbolically these kids. After the race my helmet will be auctioned, and the proceeds dedicate for helping the children organization. Here is one of Mélanie’s favorite quotes  from Steve Jobs, which worthwhile to keep in mind for all of us … “The only way to do GREAT work is to LOVE what you do,” and for Mélanie, much more important to be an A level in your life than at school.” SO TRUE!

The race season is once again on in  Budapest and a large number of air race fans will be expected having a chance to watch the spectacle venue as the pilots artistically directing their planes.

Flowery Hungary … Competition of Entente Floral Europe – Hungary – 2016.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The Entente Floral Europe is the success story of the past two decades. The nationwide competition was first announced in 1994 by the tourism sector and the horticultural profession, but its history dates back to 1990, when Hungary participated in the European Competition for Towns and Villages in Bloom, namely Entente Florale Europe. The European competition is a civil initiative involving 55 million residents living in 25,000 towns and cities. The Hungarian competition joins  with 2 million people  to show, to create a more livable environment, and a more likeable world.

Last month,  the European Cities and Villages in Bloom jury  visited  Hungary, this was  for the twenty-sixth occasion. In the blooming city category Mosonmagyaróvár and in the village category  Dunakiliti will represent  Hungary. These two settlements in 2015 participated and won first prize and  the right to enrole in the “Flowery Hungary” at  the forthcoming  European competition.

The judging of those municipalities that applied is performed by experts from the end of June until August. The two national first-prize “winning municipalities can represent Hungary in the European competition in “city” and “village” categories. The final countdown of the competition will receive a prize forwarded to the municipalities showing their outstanding achievement.

If the streets are tidy, the front gardens are neat, and the balconies are decorated with flowers, the residents of the municipalities will have already made big steps towards to a more livable environment. If the brooks and ponds and the natural habitats surrounding the municipality are cleaned, then they can be preserved for the future. If flowers, trees and shrubs that are typical of the region are planted, then the rehabilitation of the land can be accomplished at the same time. However, if somebody takes care of only one potted flower in someone’s window, and can evoke a smile on somebody else’s face.

Respecting plant life means simultaneously respecting human life.

Previous prizes Hungary’s villages, towns and cities won were: The first and second prizes in the Entent Florale Europe competition furnish a good example, like Siófok (gold), Géderlak (gold), Kaposvár (gold), Nagyatád (gold), Eger (gold), Lipót (gold), Balatonfüred (gold), Gyula (gold), Balatongyörök (gold) Székesfehérvár (silver), Hévíz (silver), Tata (silver), Bük (silver), Sárospatak (silver), Győr (silver), Velence (silver), Paks (silver), Zalakaros (silver), Balatonszárszó (silver), Makó (silver), Tápiógyörgye (silver),Szombathely (szilver), Gelse (silver ), Sopron (silver), Paloznak (silver), Százhalombatta (silver,) Lövő (silver), Hévíz (silver), Csopak (silver), Zebegény (silver) and Siófok (silver).

If you go for a walk around the country, or even if you just look around where you walk, you would suddenly catch sight of well-kept, cultivated municipalities and on the other hand efforts should be made at those places  where there still are things make the place look tidy.
