Miklós Vámos – “A Hattyúk Dala” – “The Swan’s Song” – historical novel – 2016.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Upon invitation by Publisher of Europe, took part at a premiere venue walk and by attending the presentation at the Bóbita Theater in the city of Pécs. Rolling along the city’s major scenes of the novel was as back in time of a historical travel, where our footsteps took us back two thousand years. It is not by accident chosen venue … the writer believes that there he was conceived nearly 66 years ago. We stopped at significant buildings when and where as the great story-teller spoke about the city, the people and its tribe history. Started with its present, and retreat back into the past ages places and buildings. “A Hattyúk Dala” – “The Swan’s Song”  is his latest historical novel that took him around 5 years to complete it. It is a sort of Epic kinds of prose. The reader can start the novel at any chapter’s page. There has no context stories. The book is extensive, and not just because of its over-weight :-).  Within the short chapters we comfortable learn about the places history. We simply roll over to the next chapter without a notice we have reached another time zone.  The chapters are not in the traditional way related to each other. The book appeared this year in October.  The Book’s presentation took place at the Bóbita Theater, whereas the 180-seat theater was full with not only local residents who most probably all had a jolly-good day. They say about author he never smiles … well at Pécs exploring the venues  and during his presentation several times on his face a trace of smiles appeared … maybe he was in good company.

As the poet said beside others at his presentation … Q .: “I always try to write a book, which I also like to read. I’m happy if my book is a success, but I’m trying not to comply anyone. I believe that who is afraid of failure, never reach will the real success.”

Would be a long stage to present all the poet’s literature life, but it deserves to mention at least two stage  of them … He spent 2 years at the Fulbright scholarship as a visiting professor in the States, whereas he taught at Yale School of Drama – City University of N.Y. and other universities film and drama faculties.  In his early age was a rock musician in the Guerrilla band, he is a.k.a. known as Tibor Vámos.

Till present day his 39 volumes have been published. He wrote novels, dramas, short stories, film scenarios.

One thing to draw your attention and mind you „A Hayttúk Dala” – The Swan’s Song”  was written in Hungarian language, but hopefully here in Hungary and around the world there will be readers to enjoy the book who bear Hungarian knowledge.

This play is needless to say, worth seeing … unfortunately or not this heralding production on stage is in Hungarian language, but the English-speaking folks having Hungarian as well savvy viewers will enjoy this superb line of actors performance directed by Róbert Alföldi.

In brief …  Power or Love … that is the Question!

Marlowe’s Edward II is a play about desire and how public and political worlds are determined and constituted by private forces. Marlowe presents us with a dark, dangerous and ambiguous vision of the human condition. For Edward, desires imperatives are absolute and he will do anything in his power to pursue his love even if it eclipses the law and threatens to destroy his Kingdom.

The play explores how excess and passion always leads to catastrophe and destruction. A historical tragedy that although written in the XVI. century, transcends time and speaks to our everyday world where the personal is political and the political is always driven by the personal.

The play is performed by: Ernő Fekete Tamás Jordán, Gyabronka Joseph, David Szatory, Zalán Makranczi, Csilla Radnay, Márton Patkós, Balázs Mihályfi, Balázs Medveczky Szabolcs Fabian, Dóra Sztarenki. An Exhibition of Traditional Artwork from Mainland Southeast Asia in Budapest 2016.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Ferenc Hopp Museum of Arts – Budapest

September, 26. 2016 – 20 April, 20.2017.

The language of this region art and its people handwork invites the locals and foreigners to have a glimpse into the artistic language … long forgotten or not.

The decorations seen is simply breathtaking … thanks to the curator and others at the museum … View closely on the surface of picture scrolls, beautiful hand-made work of textiles, the clothing and everyday household items visually codes with specific meanings.

Brilliantly coloured fabrics from the areas examined in this exhibition are emblazoned with figures of spirits, animals, mythical beings in the guise of beasts, and symbols of protection, which allow insight into the complex system of faith that prevails in the region, derived equally from Indian mythology and Buddhism, which is depicted in a variety of ways across Southeast Asia. Including the serpent deities from Lao Tai tradition.

Talking about traditions … The Indians traders probably first appeared in the Southeast Asia in the 1st. century. Proof of the presence and prominent role of textiles from  India has survived from the 11th – 13th centuries. Manly in the form of wall paintings and reliefs in temples, as well of statues of gods. By the 15th century, Indian textile traders had developed a commercial network which stretched from Africa to China. The main centers of trade for Indian textiles were in Gujarat on the Coronel Coast and also in Bengal. All of the textiles traded, the most valuable were the “ikat silk” made with tided threads, called as “patola”. The special framework pattern of the patola became the standard form for ritual textiles across Southeast Asia.

Between the 16th and 18th centuries a large proportion of the population across in the indian Ocean region dressed in cotton textiles from India and these become distributed across local markets mostly by European traders. As time passed by more-and-more textiles came on the markets, were made in Java, Cambodia and Siam. The patterns used to-day are  fabrics made in Thai and Kmer ikat fabrics  which still recalls the designs featured on Indian patola textiles.

The museum and its exhibitions are definitely not a one occasion to visit … each month.  the exhibitions are accompanied by contemporary artists and guided tours.

Travelling 80edays Around the World Using No Fuel!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

New Beginning, Renewable Energy and New Ecosystem so was said at the travelogue of the 80edays around-the-world trip by electric cars held by József Helmich and Csaba Mészáros – president and owner of the evopro group at the TAMA Restaurant in Budapest.

Barcelona hosted the start off the major electric event of the year.

The ten pure electric cars and an electric bus lined up at the Arc de Triomf to participate in the ELDURO.  The end point was also at Barcelona.

Before getting into the depth of information, starting with what usually is mentioned at the end of an update wish to highlight the following fact … The winner in its category for its self-supporting, modular, full composite body Bus designed by Hungary’s evopro and manufactured by Russia’s NCC, won International Innovation Award! Now that its done, here goes the insight to the electric cars around-the-world race. Definitely had to keep in mind that anything can break down. That is why it was a key factor during the designing of Modulo to minimize the amount of parts and to avoid unnecessarily complicated details, so it was said by József Helmich.

In the 80edays tour there were 11 teams, traveled over 25000 kms, crossed over 20 countries, including three continents. The rolling teams on 80edays were Austria, China, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany I., Germany II., Germany III., Hungary Spain, Switzerland I., Switzerland II., USA with electric cars around the world. The goal was to prove, once again, the sustainability of electric vehicles. The project was initiated by Rafael de Mestre, who in 2012 managed to circle the world in 127 days. He participated this time along with the teams with a car Tesla Model S.

The rally rolled through many different geographic areas … plains, deep vallies, mountains high, narrow street sections, through a lot of potholes, due to restriction heights, barriers to bridge the bus had to change directions make detours, but they did not loose too much time in figuring out which way to continue the race and also drove over 2000 meters above sea level. In each country they travel through the teams plant a tree along with a memorial plaque.

From Europe ten cars have been transported across the Atlantic. The Electric Bus of the Hungarian team was transported by ship to Halifax/Canada that was the first North American stop. From Halifax to New York and then on the road led them throw the States to San Francisco and Los Angeles. From there on, the vehicles were flown over the Pacific Ocean, until reaching Guangzhou – China and off they drove on the road again ending the race at their starting point in Barcelona, Spain. The teams traveled 25,000 kms across 20 countries and three continents. The teams passed along iconic cities, where over 40 events were organized to raise awareness about EV technology. Residents and tourists strolling by the boardwalk stopped by viewing these electric vehicles. Many among the observers said they are hoping to travel in the future at their sub-urban and inner city areas on these gas-free buses.

After having arrived from America and Spain back to Budapest, the Modulo vehicles are now promoting electro mobility in the capital as well with two 80edays buses. Furthermore, the Hungarian-developed electric bus showed the world that electro mobility is accessible for everyone in public transportation as well.

The 80edays around-the-world electric car rally (11 EVs) set up a new world record. The teams successfully completed the navigation trip and drove the total of 289.662 kms. together across Europe, North America, and Asia with 100% electric vehicles, including the time in cross-continental transportation. At the finish line the teams were warmly welcomed and congratulated by Professor Gunter Pauli a.k.a. “The Steve Jobs of Sustainability”.  The crews had plenty of challenges on their way but successfully made their way home.

Overall, the Hungarian invented #Modulo #electricBus has successfully completed the North-American and European sections of the 80edays. The race also served as to promote awareness of sustainable transportation, fast, comfortable, silent, environmentally friendly.

More to it … rewriting the automotive history and proving the capabilities of modern electric vehicles have already become an essential part of our lives.
