EUROVISION 2015 – TIE VOTES ARE EXPECTED IN HUNGARY IN THE COMING WEEKS

The countdown is on in selecting the best song for Hungary to enter the

Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

The Eurovision 2015 contest will take place in Vienna, Austria, but until then a lot of water will flow down the River Danube to pick the right song for all the countries involved. Here in Hungary the countdown has already started and this evening the organizers held a press gathering to hear the song and the names behind them. But first things first … the jury of 5 … I mean present were 4 of them, namely Philip Rákay,  Jenő Csiszár , Magdi Rúzsa and Pierrot stepped on stage to implement the representatives of the press and the 10 applicants so far receiving the needed green light to be in the following next selection. At the pre-election taking two days,  Philip Rákay, Jenő Csiszár and other musicians had a tough time listening to 351 entries and by the end 94 entries were selected for the following running selection and by the final  audition remained 30 competitors. The fifth member of the jury will be „the audience”. A free download of the audience vote for Mobile Application 1-10 during the song. At the end of each song, the scores a will be averaged and added to the jury’s number of points.

Tonight was presented only for the time being the 10 shortlisted competitors and their songs. These  were … title of the songs … performers: The Night – Chances , Walls for Nothing – „Bogi” Csemer Buttercup, World of Violence  – He Dal-inch Bogi, Liar – Balázs Farkas Jenser, The Time is Now – Karmapolis, Maniac – MDC,  Listen to the Universe – Father Barbara “Barbie”,  Keep Marching On – Spoon,  Our time – Saci & Böbe, Diamond –  Vera Tóth.

The following 10-10 songs (10 on Tuesday and the other 10 on Thursday) will be broadcasted on the Hungarian Petőfi Radio from 7 a.m. – noontime, so the audience will have time to learn and hear the songs.

Tie votes are expected, but that is what the Eurovision song contest is all about, choosing

the best-of-the-best!

LAKE BALATON REGIONAL WINES – ADVENT FAIR – CITY PARK – ICE RINK – BUDAPEST 2014.

No ordinary happening … Lake Balaton Wine Fair Advent and Xmas tree installation!

The happening will be on Sunday, December, 14  starting at 5.30 p.m. at the City Park on the Ice-Rink.

One of the most exciting events of the year is the Advent period. Many places in Western Europe will be holding the Advent Fair, whereas an entire region introduces itself. Coming up soon will be for the first time to be organized by the Lake Balaton Wine Regional Circle and the  Hungarian National Tourist Office the Regional Advent Fair in Budapest. At Budapest hitherto was no such program. This year partners of the Lake Balaton Wine Circle promises a day of fun and laughter, bringing the wines and food from the Lake Balaton’s wine regions. Hopefully and lets see if this coming event will be creating a tradition in the future as well. The organizers will be bringing winter fun-filled programs full of new impressions and  the range of “Lake Balaton Rich Flavors”. At the Ice Rink’s special assembly hall. The wine makers from the Lake Balaton will welcome the visitors to taste nearly 40 wines.  In addition, a fine time to purchase preferential bottles of wines for the coming season holidays. Furthermore, an individual will already have his/her Xmas present at the draw, by winning a weekend stay at the lakeside. So if anyone would like to experience winter at Lake Balaton, surprise your loved ones, cause during the event can book at the tourism service a significant discount stay.

The event’s main attraction will be the Wine Xmas tree installation on the Ice Rink!

The Lake Balaton wineries will dress up, mean bottle up creating a Xmas tree and the skaters rolling  on ice will be offered a sip of wine on their way.

Admission fees: Advent Fair and Balaton lake – wine tasting: 2000HUF. (Free entry is also possible eg. by Quiz Balaton). The visitors at the Ice Rink „Dressing up” the Xmas tree and Wine Tasting is Free.

TAMÁS DÚZSI – WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR 2014 – HUNGARY

The past 24 years became a tradition to the country’s oldest and most prestigious professional wine appreciation organized by Hungarian Wine Academy. Each year giving the title of

„The winemaker of the year”.

This award express the recognition of the quality of a wine and represents the market success of professional management and winery. The competition stood of a two-round vote.  In the first round the College winemakers gave their votes. In the second round the Academy nominations took place for the aggregates. Thenafter, a list of the five most productive winemakers recommendation of the academics in the vote.  The votes in the final result marked “The Winemaker of the Year in Hungary” professional title which were the below names of wineries: János Bolyki János – Eger Region, Tamás Borbély – Badacsony Wine Region, Tamás Dúzsi – Szekszárd Wine Region, Csaba Koch – Hajós-Bajai Wine Region, Mátyás Szőke – Mátra Wine Region.

This year’s award title … “Winemaker of the Year 2014” …  award winner was  

Tamás Dúzsi – Szekszárd wine region.

The master of rosé wine from Szekszárd … already received over 70 international awards to his fine wines. The future of the wine is well founded at the Szekszárd Region. The whole family busy hands are in some way or another in conducted or professionals in winemaking. It is absolutely a family enterprise. One of his son is also a wine producer and out at the DiVino wine bars in Budapest… so as it is said in Hungary … „the apple does not fall far from the tree”.  One other son won a tender abroad studying winemaking. Naturally, behind a successful man is always a woman and Ilona Patai Duzsi, the wife also takes load part in the wine making huge family. The Tamás Duzsi wine label is well know outside Hungary. Mentioning a couple races in recent years,: France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain. In Hungary received a lot of medals for the rosé wines and red wines. In 2014 was present at several wine competitions : Le Mondial du Rosé, the Challenge International du Vine, and the ProWein Mundus Vini and brought also home the recognition of GOLD .

Once at a previous wine competition, Duzsi said … Quote: „Folks always ask me which one is my favorite wine? It is hard to point out even one favorite wine. It is like having children and each one being close to the heart would be pretty hard to name only one of them” … Damn well said!

THE MEMORY PROJECT – FINDING KÁLMÁN – EXHIBITION AT TRANZIT ART CAFÉ – BUDAPEST

In our daily running, worthwhile to stop for a minute in keeping up in time and take a visit to the exhibition at Tranzit Art Café.

The exhibition can be visited through December, 1. 2014. until January, 12. 2015.

The exhibition „Finding Kálmán” is about a boy in six million lost during the Holocast. The paintings lighten up one chapter back in time of the four years old child. It show an artist … family member …who is recalling in a way of the past. The exhibition show through art by sharing memories in helping the family reclaim the spirit and creating positive change in the world.

The Memory Project  was founded in 2008 by Roza Jacobs and Laurie Weisman. HQ’s – New York. USA.

Co-founder of the project was Róza Jacobs  the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, Jenő and Anna Jacobs. Jenő Jacobs was a passionate believer in the importance to share through art one of the victim of the world’s most heinous of homicide.

Recognitions: CINE Golden Eagle 2011 for the film Finding Kalman. Best Short Documentary Louisville International Film Festival 2011. Excellence Award Rincon International Film Festival, Puerto Rico 2012. The Memory Project Multimedia Art Installation, Finding Kalman – documentary, the Book: Finding Kalman: A Boy In Six Million.

District XIV. City Park – Agricultural Museum at the Castle of Vajdahunyad

Admission fee is 2000 HUF which includes one tasting glass with the festival logo, also receiving a general public voting coupon to their favorite wine and cheese. The coupon ticket is also an admission to visit the Agricultural Museum

It is a two-day festival, whereas excellent award-winning wines and cheeses can be sampled during the event, but need to hurry up because there is only one day to go. On Sunday to catch up!  At the festival the visitors may have interesting conversations with the masters and learn about the wine regions of Hungary, also the procedure in preparing the finest delicious cheese of master catches.

The Agriculture museum is an architectural masterpiece. Entering the main entrance tight away the new wines and new cheese exhibition is at the fingertips of the visitors.

Approximately 30 stands awaits on the ground and the first floor at the wine and cheese exhibitors. Beside the tasting visitors may cast a glance at the marble arched court up to the first floor via marble staircase. The building with its painted walls, enormous crystal chandeliers, carved pillars, stained windows worthwhile to have a good look.

Hungarian wine, our excellent national drink, had been the basis of the livelihood for about a third of the country’s population until the end of the 19th century and even today, the domestic and international trade of Hungarian wine is linked to rural tourism.

The wine is an integral part of Hungarian identity and image, while its excellence guarantees its valued place in Europe and the EU.

Different wines and cheese … different tastes!  Highlighting a couple of other new wines to have a sip. The  Dúzsi Tamás and Ilona Patai Dúzsiné – family owned winery also to be known that his winery is on of the leaders of the developing family wineries from the superb region Szekszárd, aka the land of the best red wine region in Hungary. Would be a pity to not taste this year’s new red wine namely Marci 2014. Aklan  winery from Lesencetomaj – Balaton Uplands.  The  Galántai family cellar’s wines from Soltvadkert.  The Ódányi Bianca dry and bio white wines, and as for the cheese.  Missis Zsuzsanna  from Etyek – home-made smoked, hard, semi-hard cow’s milk cheese with paprika, and the delicious paranica cheese will knock you off your feet. The Bükki from Mónosbél – cheese from , the Kisasszondi  – from Kisasszondi  estate near Kaposvár hard, smoked, cheese dairy product. The Nagy Róbert László from Dég – unique cheeses are extremely delicious. Of course there are many more  not worth to be missed whilst visiting the New Wine and Cheese festival it is worthwhile to have a look at the outside area as well. The outstanding Castle of Vajdahunyad stands within the area of the biggest museum of agriculture in Europe. Its designer Ignác Alpár merged different architectural styles, made use of different elements, details of well-known buildings of historical Hungary.

Reaching the high season of holidays, it is pretty hard for many to  find the answer to … 3 W’s standing for WhenWhereWhat to purchase for the hubbie and loved one, but soon excepting the invitation from the Madison Perfumery found out at the newly opened Moni’s Jewelry Premium Brand Store. Thumbs-up for the organisers for tying an excellent selection of programs. As it was said at the opening the 3 M’s  are here this evening … Moni’s Jewelry … Madison Perfumery … Maison Marquise –  showcasing: Bori Tóth  designer’s  collection.

The presentation was by the representative of the Jaguar who step-by-step introduced the 3M’s. Moni’s – Style and Elegance molded piece of jewelery. Madison brought the latest collection of not for only classy ladies but gents the warm, spicy, romantic fragrances which captivated many  senses  also for the male spouse on the spot. Also the variety of candles based on the original Eau de Perfume were very  attractive. The  Maison Marquise   introduced the AW 2014/2015„Ready-to-Wear „ – Orient Fall models. A collection of ancient culture of Far East. The patterns of Chinese folding  screen and the golden metal ornaments of Japanese lacquered boxes were to touch the eye of the audience. As heard, the  collections concept was to combine ancient handcrafted ornaments with modern simple forms and body fitted silhouettes.  The models were also dressed up  with leather mountings  and carrying  fan shape purses truly  a composition of the 21st century.  Indeed the  unique  style of  Moni’s Jewelry further  highlighted the clothes and the woman’s personality. The touch of the Madison Perfumery’s  (also offering  exclusive fragrances, niche  cologne, hard-to-find perfumes, room scents also worked perfectly together with the clothes and jewelry. Each collection of the Moni’s jewelry are made not in series but in a limited number. There is only ten pieces of each in the shop. One of Moni highlight is the special jewelry collection for men inspired by Jaguar F-Type.

Was also said, this new jewelry store at the center of Budapest, next to the Basilica was a fairy dream to come true. Previously examined every detail to implement a perfect jewelry store in 200 square meters and  housed two full levels of luxury and glamor. The store was planned by a Florence internal constructor and the dream glow to life in November 2014. The store’s aim is  support  every customer in finding a tiny piece to his and her personality with which happily leaves the store.

“Experience the World in a Day!”

The Diplomatic Spouses Budapest is organizing  their 4th charity fair at the Intercontinental Hotel this coming up Sunday, November, 30. 2014.

The Diplomatic Fair is organized by the Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest (DSB), which is a non-political, non-religious, non-profit association, founded in 2000 by a group of spouses in the diplomatic community to bring together spouses of Heads of Missions and of other diplomats accredited to Hungary.

According to the organizers the aim of the event is to raise money for local charities. The charity work is carried out on a voluntary basis, as it was said by Frances Goodfriend – DSB vice-president at the past days press meeting, where  Natallia Khainouskaya – President, Katalin Skapér – DSB vice-president, Gábor Márton – representing „OUR HOUSE” – „A MI HAZUNK” – Esztergom, Bettina Aradi – representing the Hungarian National Federation of the Blind and Visually Impaired – Guide Dog Training School – Csepel and  delegate from SOFI – Special Education and Development Institute,  announced among other things there will be 45 embassies with national stands and 29 countries in the food corner. Visitors are also invited to shop around handicrafts, clothes, jewelry, household embroidery, pick nice clothing at the second-hand corner where all the items are donated by diplomats’ wives. Also on the spot there will be men’s corner, children’s corner, international bazaar, traditional music and dance.

Over the years the DSB has raised more than 30 million HUF all of which has been distributed amongst a number of Hungarian institutions benefiting disadvantaged groups, children with learning disabilities, the elderly, victims of domestic violence and children with cancer.

This year’s funds raised during the Diplomatic Fair will be distributed to the three organizations that DSB is supporting:

The Special Education and Development Institute SOFI … for mentally challenged children.

Hungarian National Federation of the Blind and Visually Impaired – Guide Dog Training School– Csepel

The Children`s Home  „OUR HOUSE”  – A MI HÁZUNK … Educational program for Roma children, based at the City of Esztergom.

The Patron of the Diplomatic Fair in 2014 is Mrs. Anita Herczegh, wife of the President of Hungary who was also in 2012 and 2013, but this year will not be present due to official foreign trip, but her message will be shared.

The highlight beside many other raffle prizes will be for the lucky one to make his/her day winning a 5stars/5days all-inclusive vacation for two in Jordan.

Following the previous years success at the Israeli Film Festival in Budapest in the forthcoming days it will be present again and screened over a week.

Here is the latest Herald News to the 18th Israeli Film Festival … A selection of the latest award-winning films, contemporary movies, comedies to sensitive dramas … from riveting, political documentaries to hot-blooded romance presenting the best of Israeli cinema to Hungarian audiences.

The film festival takes place at the Pushkin Cinema through December, 4 to 9. 2014., organized in collaboration between the Israeli Embassy in Hungary and the Israel Cultural Institute in Budapest.

The films will be shown within their original Hebrew sounds, S/T with English and also Hungarian.

The slogan of 2014 … “Wine and Art” packed in one festival

Hover over on November, 29 – 30. 2014. to the Vajdahunyadvár  (Vajdahunyad Castle) where awaits the good wine lovers.  During the festival there will take place the official voting of the best new wine of the year and namely the best cheese makers. Beside the wine and cheese products of ham, sausages will be present as well.

Ferenc Vilmos – leader candidates have been pleased with the number. Less than a week to come already 55 wine makers and 25 cheese markers called to participate at the festival, but who knows exactly how many producers will show up.  Most of the wine makers agree the bad weather did not do too much good for the grapes, but now can be found out who are those wine makers who had the art in making good wines.

Over the past decade many locals and foreigners staying in Hungary has gain experience of new wine consumer culture pioneered by tasting small farmers and well-known wine makers wines.

There is a wine makers saying … There is wine – there is better wine –  there is my mine!

The gates open at 10 a.m. with a start the tasting, for comparison. The official program on both days starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 6 p.m.

Among different types of cheese and the Old Dairy products will be seen and available at Cheeseville!

On Thursday, at 6 p.m. November, 27 2014. at the Europe Point- District II. 35, Lövőház Street there will be lectures concerning wines in English language, with simultaneous English-Hungarian.

The festival also support the foundation … “The young Hungarian wine makers of Tomorrow” .

The participation to both lecture is free of charge, but only pre-registration to the Pont Europe is needed

The ASzPIK-PALOMA is a common pop-up showroom, where the seals around and designers may issue and sell their products. The aim of the ASzPIK-PALOMA project is to creative knowledge from publishing in Pécs, Hungary, thereby acquiring new market relationships, increase national awareness. Their goal is to develop a framework for mutual cooperation, solidarity, emphasizing the individual against the interests of the Community, to which are inherent in a democratic, equal relationships.

The event is organized by the Contemporary Suppliers Group (Korel).

Korel is in the downtown area, a crowded place, easily accessible, affordable venue, a place to look for the pop-up. Also where to sell the products  visiting the street. It target visitors in a unique  environment. The creative showroom and  atmosphere at the Paloma was  an important aspect in selecting the venue. A couple of shows and exhibitions  within the programs: Street Chic Design – clothing and textiles, jewelry. Naturaconte – natural cosmetics manufacture. Artery – re-designed consuming waste materials with premium furniture and decorative objects thrilling. Cushioned Manufactory – unique folded shape, with its graphics and options free under bond paper boxes. Lydia Steiner – Illustrations – tale books, illustrations.
