Summer in the City … Festival season on the go!

May, 19. – 21. 2018.

The Várkert Bazaar has a three-day program series waiting for those who wish to relax at the long weekend of Pentecost. Free open-air family programs are available at Ybl Miklós Square and Neo-Renaissance Garden: handicrafts, various toys and concert halls. There will be a handicraft fair, and gastronomic experiences will be provided by streetfoods. In the evenings, star guitarists give a free concert, including Radics Gigi, Kelemen Coat and Hiperkarma. Hello Wood is again guaranteed by Hello Wood: after the puffy eggs, giant swings will decorate the Ybl Miklós space, which visitors can try out!

Participation to the programs are free of charge.

The exhibition will be on view till May, 18. 2018.

​ The Ari Kupsus Gallery signed an agreement with the Academy of Fine Arts in February 2010 in regards to its intent to arrange art exhibition every year in May for the Academy’s most promising 4th grade students of the Painting Faculty. The works on display at the gallery are chosen by a jury out of more than 300 works based on the portfolios submitted by the students.

The Ari S Kupsus Salon Concert Society has extended its charity activities from supporting of classical music students of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, since 1996, to the support of talented students of the Academy of Fine Arts Budapest. In addition to the scholarships awarded to the music students at the Gala Award Salon Concert held at the Embassy of Finland every year in February, this year eighteen scholarships in fine arts will be handed over by society’s Art Collectors Club to promising art students of the Painting Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts.

The winners of these awards will be announced at the exhibition opening event.

Hopefully, not on my own by saying Elvis was one of the most influential and legendary cultural icons the world has ever witnessed. With music talent that knew no end, and good looks that could kill the girls, ladies.

A little do we know about Elvis Presley had a secret relationship with Sophia Loren, but find out on June, 6. 2018. when Priscilla Presley talks about Elvis the King”s Life.

The rumor that the Italian actress, Sophia Loren and king of Rock’n’Roll, Elvis Presley, are in love with each other in her fifties. Whether romance is really a scary love, or a friendship that has grown to a grave in the lives of two celebrities, little is known to this day.

The successful actress, Sophia Loren, and Elvis Presley, who was already a hero then, met for the first time in 1958 in Hollywood, Paramount Studios. The King had a dense year: he lost his mother, then went to the military to meet his later wife, Priscilla Ann Beaulieu, ten years younger. In the same year he filmed the movie King Creole (which was also directed by Michael Curtiz from Hungary), in which he played the main role. According to the reports, Sophia Loren was the one who saw Elvis at the movie’s capital and approached him and introduced herself to him.

They say there was much more to them than simple friendships. Every time Sophia Loren was filmed, at that time, on average, three films were produced on her starring, thanks to her producer and husband Carlo Ponti- who had been known overseas since 1958. They say the actress was lonely in Hollywood without her family and friends, a close friend said, trying to replace Elvis Presley’s gap in her heart.

Some rumors were told that the King was flamboyant for the sexy diva, fascinated by her humor and beauty.  They both got along like a house on fire and they had remained in love and kept in touch until this death. Many people question the existence of strange love, even in the face of their over-heated erotic images, and the King’s kiss kissing the neck of the Italian actress. It is true that Presley was harnessed with many actresses as Loren’s love life gave a constant theme to gossip.

However, Priscilla Presley is supposed to react sensitively to this day the sound of Sophia Loren’s name.

Priscilla Presley will tell stories of their relationship and commenting perhaps from the perspective of so many years the story of Sophia may be found out of the life of the King.

A Half Day Tour – Balatonfüred – Lake Balaton 2018.

Lake Balaton by the Hungarians is considered  as the Hungarian Sea. It’s a sweet water lake and the largest in Europe.

Lake Balaton has two sides just like the coin … in style of venue. The Northern side of the lake is a more quiet, comfy, relaxing, filling up individuals energy.  The Southern side of the lake is more of a hustle-and-bustle of life, full of life characterized by being razzmatazz.

But now on tour at the Northern side of the Lake Balaton in visiting Balatonfüred. First stop payed a visit and received high welcoming at the Bistro garden – Vino Terazza. A real Italian foody and moody restaurant. Upon the visit had the real experience to dive into the pampering hospitality and with their own imaginative delicacies. Besides the non everyday delights was extremely delicious. The peaceful panorama was amazing. Wine lovers can also get to know the local wines, and enjoy, ease the guest hungry here. Within the half day program was organized for the participants to see more of the region by rolling around on the Segway. Thereafter, was taken on a walking tour around the Balatonfüred. We also visited venue of the annual Anna Ball site. Each year one of the participants of the Ball is elected to be the queen, crowned as Miss Balaton.

Within the tour headed to the port and strolled along the well-known inhabitants once lived at this area. Beside watching the world go by on the port and cultural sites, Balatonfüred is worth the time to visit the gastronomic delights. Its elegance and style is unbeatable, it preserves the traditions of the past, but it is one of the most dynamically developing cities in the Balaton part is Balatonfüred, which will never let the visitors to be bored and dazzle the most demanding guests. At Balatonfüred right from the first minute can feel the visitors arrived to the right place to spend their holiday and relaxation.  The region goes back to a long tradition. It was already inhabited in Roman times, thanks to its beneficial Mediterranean climate and its carbonated springs it has long been a renowned spa town. In 1926, the renowned Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore was reappeared in the renowned Heart Hospital of Balatonfüred, where he was planting wood on the picturesque promenade of the city, which still preserves his name. The memories of the past can be seen in a beautiful state: the magnificent XVIII. and XIX. century buildings define the city’s mood. Due to Sándor Kisfaludy, Balatonfüred can tell the first stone theater of Transdanubia, which opened in 1831. In the last century, the city has served as a relaxing place for many renowned artists and celebrities. Blaha Lujza Villa is today an elegant restaurant and hotel, the Vaszary Villa is a prestigious gallery, as well as a café and a private cinema.

In the early afternoon participating on the EXTREM BALATON sailboat from the harbor out to the smooth water with comfy breeze and the peaceful silence just blew our mind away. From the waterfront also could admire the site of the Tihany panorama … The jewel of the North Port.  Also the sight of sailboats in the harbor was awesome.

Before leaving Balatonfüred had a peak at the Koczor Winery. Have to go back there one day to gain experiences.

Balatonfüred with its sights-and-sounds … surroundings boast from spring to autumn with colorful programs  is always something for folks to visit.  The coastal part of the city center, right next to the Tagore Promenade and the port, as well as the reform era neighborhood, the waterfront provides services for all needs for active recreation and vacation travelers and sailing enthusiasts.

25th Titanic Filmfest – Budapest – 2018.

The Titanic Filmfest is the biggest international film festival in Hungary. The most outstanding, daring and innovative movies coming to movie lovers in Budapest. In 2018, Budapest celebrates its 25th Titanic Filmfest anniversary. Films from 29 countries, including international premiers are also on the list of the programs.

Four filmmakers will be present at their films. The director of The Shepherd, Jonathan Cenzual Burley, the filmmaker of Bird on a Wire about Leonard Cohen, Tony Palmer, and the two producers of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, Christina Fon and Stevie Salasis.

Cinemas to be screening the films are at the Art Cinemas – as: Uránia, Toldi, Örökmozgó, Puskin.

Samsung Electronics today unveiled its 2018 home entertainment lineup at the company’s First Look in New York event.

Samsung highlighted details about its flagship QLED TV models and its expanded lineup of UHD, Premium UHD and Ultra-Large Screen TVs. With groundbreaking design elements, enhanced picture quality, and intuitive smart capabilities, Samsung’s 2018 QLED line empowers consumers to enjoy content without distractions – even when viewers are not actively watching.

“Our 2018 lineup of televisions are truly our most innovative and sophisticated yet, designed for today’s consumer who is mindful of the aesthetics of their space,” said Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are excited for consumers to experience our new TV lineup and features that offer more freedom to decide where and how the TV can be best enjoyed within the home.”

Samsung’s 2018 line features new innovations that enrich the lives of consumers by imagining how TV integrates into the living room, how consumers enjoy their content, and how they interact with their devices.

Hungexpo Travel Fair 2018 – The Explorer is/was in you … just gave the inspiration!

It ended this  March  organized between 1-4. at the Hungexpo – Budapest Fair Center, the 41st Journey Exhibition.

Travel 2018 – “The Explorer is/was in you …  just gave the inspiration!”

Optimism and continuous growth. Such are the traits of international and domestic tourism, which have also defined the recently concluded 41st Travel Exhibition. The event held 280 exhibitors from 23 countries introduce for more than 25 000 visitors at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Fair Center. The domestic guest of honor was Hévíz, whilst on this occasion, the foreign guest of honor was Morocco.

At the stands, Hungarian and foreign exhibitors talked about the latest trends of international and domestic tourism and it was good to see in person the familiar foreign faces who are almost coming home when arriving to the Hungexpo Travel Fair.

Guest city of Hungary was: Hévíz -Lake Balaton received the Hungaricum Award Hévíz Gyógyfürdő a prestigious international award in 2017.  The city which previously relied on the visits of Russian tourists was hit hard by the financial crisis, yet through the cooperation of the private and business spheres, it managed to overcome the slump after a few years with its regional partners and just closed a record-breaking year.In additional to developments at the Hévíz Balaton Airport and  further achievements will increase people to heal and relax by the warm mineral water source.

Guest of honor foreign country: Morocco. On the official opening day, Mohammed Sajid, the Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Morocco  held a presentation. As he said,  Just as in Hungary the driving force of tourism to be developed in  Morocco is in getting more attractive as well. Tourism relations between Hungary and Morocco last autumn were closer when MUISZ and the Moroccan National Tourist Office signed a cooperation agreement. Accordingly, the Association of Hungarian Travel Agencies will hold a meeting on 23-26 March 2018. will hold its Spring Assembly in Morocco, the venue will be in Marrakech and the participants will also visit Agadir’s resort town.

For many in the past the famous movie Casablanca already warmed the hearts to visit Morocco. Now-a-days it takes only 3.5Hs to land in a country that has thousands of faces. You can visit whilst being there the stroking waves by Sea and also enjoy the green-green oceanic landscape, visit the highest altitudes known by the flat Atlas mountains, barren deserts and enjoy the sparkling sun in the snow-covered landscape. There is a distinct contrast to each other.

Had a fruitful and interesting conversation with Ms.Bouchra Adnane – office manager at Atlas Tours in Algadir, professional tourism experts!…who told so many interesting information about Morocco, I feel in love on the spot to feel and see it with my own two eyes. At first to be ready as to visit a country of colors: If you really want a relaxing holiday, you should seriously consider choosing a city on the Atlantic coast, that is,  Agadir. Who is looking for a hot desert the gem of the country their place is Merzouga. Casablanca, the place of old houses is increasingly populated by modern buildings. The Blue City of Morocco: Chefchaouen, in the ray sunshine (almost everywhere), blue buildings radiate almost peace of mind. She also mentioned the oldest royal city: Fes, the medieval medina, is the world’s most preserved inner city. The Ouzoud Falls are near the High Atlas Mountains is simply breathtaking and one of Morocco’s most beautiful natural wonders. The office manager surely gave appetite to love Morocco to upload experience about country to have a chance to fly the next day.

The Indonesian exhibition is always renewed with a breathtaking presentation, as it was recently as well, with the introduction of traditional country costumes, accompanied by different spicy and non-spicy food tasting.

Before ending the rather long update wish to draw your attention to one of the peacefulness place outside of Hungary which is at where the tourist visitors number has been growing the heights. This venue is Park Gallanti – Holiday Village – Italy. As Mr. Mario Visentini director said: Q: It will also run this year the latest, furnished bungalows where every day is a great day, because the magic of nature holds new surprises. The calm Sea, the long and wide beaches, the nearby silent landscape for families who want a quiet break, that’s the place to be.

As in the previous year arrived from Austria to the exhibition Ms. Sylvia Brudniak – sales manager – Octoberfest Office to spread the news about one of the most wanted events by locals and foreigners. Namely: “The Austrian Octoberfest” – Austria’s largest traditional customs and Wiesn-Festival.  Information in-depth  to the September, 27 to October, 14. 2018 at the Kaiserwiese meadow at the Vienna Prater Park will be soon coming. At the event participated owners and representative who spoke about the  yesterday-today-tomorrow designs.

– STUDIO SANTACHIARA – Welcoming words was made in the horizons of the Italian Design by Arch. Denis Santachiara – “Ambassador for the Italian Design Day”

– BENETTI YACHTS – Design in the luxury yacht industry. A layback history: 1873 – Lorenzo Benetti (1844-1914) buys the shipyard Darsena Lucca and establishes the Benetti shipyard which he directs for the next forty years, assisted by his sons Gino and Emilio towards the end of his tenure. 1873 – 1904 – Lorenzo Benetti launches over 30 vessels; five schooners, three tartans, 13 brigantine’s, eight navicellis and three cutters. 1910 – Lorenzo Benetti secures state authorization to build his second shipyard in the Darsena Italia, where the registered office is still found today.With Lorenzo’s death in 1914, Gino and Emilio rename the shipyard Fratelli Benetti and continue their father’s business. 1927 – After Gino Benetti’s passing, his sons Giuseppe and Virgilio take his place, while Emilio’s sons Maurizio and Bertani assist their father. Between 1873 – 1935  the Benetti shipyards launch over 100 sailing vessels: 21 schooners, three tartans, 63 brigantines, 12 navicellis, seven cutters, six barkentines and  three giga yachts of 100mt and longer.

– PAOLO CASTELLI – Inheritance can be a burden, but it can fulfill one’s  life-goal. From manufacturing design furniture  – an iconic collection of inspiration and creations. For example during the presentation by short video was introduced the 21st century lighting and fine furniture. Basic on the Bolonese Cathedral of Lights emotionally touched Paolo Castelli. The basic idea was born there. The image of hanging water drops caught his eyes.  The final product made of Murano glass which are used to depict the water drop as a spotty long water drop, coated with 24 gold coat. The furniture and other items are made by hand and not by serial production.The elegant design can be followed through the twenties, thirties, forties by Paolo Castelli SpA to be able to realize small and/or large supplies or interventions in private or public, as well as renovations, renovations and supplies of bespoke furniture for libraries (Manica Lunga library), airports (Alitalia Dolce Vita Lounge – Fiumicino Airport), hospitality, Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, museums, private residences, auditoriums and offices as well as in the naval sector.

– ALFA ROMEO – Has been pure Italian, the motor sport legend, a symbol of craftsmanship and elegance. This coming year Alfa Romeo will show up again at the F1 again!  From the Grand Prix racers of the 1930’s, to the beautiful 8C 2900 that dominated the Mille Miglia, to the Giulietta of the 1960’s, the Alfa Romeo mark is loved by car collectors all over the world.

– SICIS -“The world is a mosaic “- creating the essence of luxury Italian style such as: mosaic tiles for floors, wall coverings, exterior cladding and much more beside many others also the Louis Vuitton chairs. Marble has been the very first material used by Sicis. The marble collection goes from the classic and traditional decorations to more modern patterns thanks to the new cutting edge technique developed by the company. The possibilities are infinite, and allow to personalize every realization considering the taste and budget of the client.

– MASERATI – The glamour and excellence of high-tech design. For more than a century Maserati is an Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer established on December, 1. 1914, in Bologna. The Maserati brothers, Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, and Ernesto were all involved with automobiles from the beginning of the 20th century. Alfieri, Bindo and Ernesto built 2-litre Grand Prix cars for Diatto. In 1926, Diatto suspended the production of race cars, leading to the creation of the first Maserati and the founding of the Maserati mark. One of the first Maseratis, driven by Alfieri, won the 1926 Targa Florio. Maserati began making race cars.The trident logo of the Maserati car company is based on the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore. In 1920, one of the Maserati brothers, artist Mario, used this symbol in the logo at the suggestion of family friend Marquis Diego de Sterlich. It was considered particularly appropriate for the sports car company due to fact that Neptune represents strength and vigour. Additionally, the statue is a characteristic symbol of the company’s original home city. Alfieri Maserati died in 1932, but three other brothers, Bindo, Ernesto and Ettore, kept the firm going, building cars that won races. On July, 15. 2018., celebrate the passion of Alfa Romeo.  The Maserati tagline is “Luxury, sports and style cast in exclusive cars”, and the brand’s mission statement is to “Build ultra-luxury performance automobiles with timeless Italian style, accommodating bespoke interiors, and effortless, signature sounding power”. The company’s headquarters are now in Modena, and its emblem is a trident.

– DAMIANI GROUP – The expression of the Italian jewelry worldwide. The history of Damiani jewelry is that of an Italian family with a deep-rooted tradition and a passion for the art of jewelry making. – Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest. Some of the keystrokes were also revealed … the founder of the office, Péter Bordás, spoke about projects that have been hidden from the eyes of the general public – and more famous works such as the Nagyerdei Stadium or the Korda Filmpark. First-hand information on the key design-oriented venues and institutions in the Hungarian capital were being discussed.

Mexican painter Frida Kahlo – Exhibition – Museum of Fine Arts 2018

The Hungarian National Gallery (MNG) and the Museum of Fine Arts,the latter institution will reopen after three years of renovations this year in October.  Around the month of October  showcasing the influential era’s of  the British paintings Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud and the School of London, Dezső Korniss

.The Gallery will also host an exhibition of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, the first of its kind in Hungary, mainly based on the collection of Museo Dolores Olmedo in Mexico City. The exhibition will open on the 111th anniversary of the painter’s birth, in July of this year.

Further plans include a major exhibition of the works of Rubens, Van Dyck and masters of the Flemish baroque  late  next year.  In 2020 there are plans to exhibit Cézanne (2012).

Later this year, MNG will continue to display the works of Hungarian masters as well to honor the 110th anniversary of the birth of Dezső Korniss. The Gallery will organize an exhibition on the art of the 20th century Hungarian painter in December.

The renewed Roman Hall of the Museum of Fine Arts will be open to the public from March, 15. until April, 2. free of charge, every day from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (last admission:5 p.m.).
Entry is on ʺfirst come, first served” basis. Will not arrange reservations or bookings (not even for groups).  Due to the limited capacity of the museum hall, the number of visitors is limited, therefore occasionally waiting outside the building can be expected.​ There will not be provided any tour guides.

ELVIS – THE WONDER OF YOU

Elvis never made it to Hungary, neither to Europe, but Elvis spirit will be in the building on the night at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June, 6. 2018  in the Budapest Sport Arena. This night Elvis returning to the stage with Priscilla Presley in Budapest. How about you being present  to fill the vibes at the awesome concert.

Even though  we are in the middle of the wintertime and Elvis’s „arrival” will be in the midsummer. Here is an Early Update for those Elvis fans who live in Hungary and/or planing a visit, staying in Budapest during the superb Elvis show to have your seat reserved before they are sold out! Tickets are already out, so mind you have to purchase ASAP.

This will be a one night „live” concert, experiencing  Elvis  „The Wonder of You”, featuring the most recognizable voice of all time with a full symphony orchestra live on stage performing the King of Rock ’n Roll most well-known  songs and his tender, heart-wrenching ballads.  Songs in the framework of a special concert, come to life in their original form. The concert is highlighted with the presence , the personal appearance by Priscilla Presley.

Elvis  beloved music fans in Budapest will have an opportunity that many have never had before  to experience the man who changed the course of popular music. He was the biggest selling solo artist in history … having sold an astonishing one billion records worldwide.

As part of the show, the audience can enjoy the original video and sound recordings of Elvis, the great voice and the greatest hits of the king, featuring at a huge projector – gospel, country, ballad – with a full symphony orchestra. Most probably his soul will be int he air at the Budapest Sport Area.
