The Metropolitan Grand Circus and the Imre Baross Artist Training Institute (BIAK) celebrated World Circus Day in an unusual way: Ukrainian and Hungarian artist educators are caught! They presented a joint program at the Artists’ Colony and handed over props from the proceeds of BIAK’s previous program, Midsummer Night’s Dreamers, to Ukrainian artist educators.

World Circus Day has been celebrated on the third Saturday of April every year since 2007, but this year has been postponed to April 21, as the hospitality artists of Kiev and Kharkiv performed in Monaco with the organizing committee of the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival in a series of lectures. But already it was previously decided that a joint performance with Hungarian artists would be planned on World Day.

Before the one and a half hour presentation, the director of BIAK, Dénes Gábor Kovács, greeted the audience and reminded them that the co-production of Ukrainian and Hungarian students is a message to the world: acceptance, co-creation and thinking together is created.

Secretary of State for Culture Peter Fekete always carries with him a cultural treasure, this time asking the Museum of Hospitality to borrow a balance sheet from 1910. “From time-to-time, we have to balance the things of our lives: if trouble, need are included in one pan, responsibility, opportunity, care must be immediately included in the other. How good and exemplary that there are people among us who don’t consider if it’s about help. The Recirquel company with Bence Vági at the forefront was not considered, Tünde Vincze, who helped the refugees from Ukraine with 1HUF million, and Krisztián Kristóf, who changed his life and receives the homeless refugees in his own home, was not considered, ”said the Secretary of State for Culture. Peter Fekete recalled that more than 120 students have been living with us for more than a month now, more than 20 families have come to us who have rested for a few days and then moved on to Western Europe. The Budapest Grand Circus in Budapest is a place whose gates are open to artists and they know it all over the world. “The most important message of the World Circus Day is that circus art is cohesive, no matter who it comes from and where it is, where it helps, supports and catches when someone falls,” said Péter Fekete, who wanted strength and perseverance for everyone. He thanked the helpers for their work and expressed the hope that those forced to leave their homeland would be able to return home as soon as possible.

Subsequently, the Hungarian students handed over to their Ukrainian counterparts the props purchased from the proceeds of BIAK’s all-arts and charity piece entitled Midsummer Night’s Dreamers, so that they could continue their professional studies without interruption. On behalf of all of them, the props were thanked by Momot Svitlana, artistic director and stage director of the Harkiv artist training school. “On behalf of the students, teachers and parents left behind in Ukraine, I would like to say a huge thank you for everything. They welcome us with warmth and humanity, take care of us, provide food, accommodation and equipment for everyday life, as well as provide various programs. But most importantly, our kids can keep practicing and developing their beloved profession, ”said Momot Svitlana, Catch Up! performance director. In the first half of the program celebrating World Circus Day, Kiev and Kharkiv artist educators shone their versatile knowledge. In addition to circus art productions, the art of dance and movement interwoven with pantomime elements. In the second half of the performance, the young talents of BIAK enchanted the audience with their different genre numbers. This year was a special World Circus Day in a historic position.

Overall, thanks to the unparalleled collaboration in Hungarian circus artNational Circus Arts Center, INspirál Circus Center, BIAK, Recirquel Company, Balance Acrobatics & amp; Torna Club, Vincze Tünde Production – Ukrainian artist educators can continue their studies in safety, while continue to develop together with their Hungarian peers.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This year, the 44th Travel Fair and the 30th Budapest Boat Show at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center were successfully concluded. One of the main lessons of the four-day event is that although the epidemic has severely battered the tourism industry, domestic tourism and boating have been able to boost. The central theme of this year’s exhibition was the relaunch of tourism and security.

The domestic guest of honor at this year’s Travel exhibition was the Veszprém-Balaton region, which will become the European Capital of Culture in 2023. Many people visited the project’s 140-square-meter stand, where they presented the rich cultural and tourist offer of Veszprém, Lake Balaton and the Bakony region with special digital solutions.

The foreign guest of honor at the exhibition was Egypt for the first time this year. The resort in the Middle East presented the country’s tourist attractions and program opportunities on its own stand. Ghada Samir Shalaby, Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antique Tourism, also attended the opening of the exhibition.

In addition to the Travel exhibition, several events awaited the visitors this time as well. Many people visited the Caravan Salon, where almost 50 vehicles and 15 exhibitors presented their products and services related to living caravans and 1,500 square meters.

Central and Eastern Europe one-and-only … four-day international Africa thematic forum returned to the Travel exhibition, this time at the 10th Hungary Helps Africa Expo Budapest. In cooperation with the Hungary Helps Program, 22 organizations representing fifteen African countries presented themselves at the event, which was supported by the Hungary Helps Program.

Herald News: “We Are Growing Up Tonight” @ Central Theater – Budapest 2022

Runtime: 2.20 minutes

Central Theater – Budapest – District, VI., 18. Révai Street

Directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward

After the London premiere, this is the second in the world to see the latest production of the legendary Mischief Company’s play @ Budapest’s Central Theater.

On March, 5, 2022., was domestic premiere of the highly successful comedy by the Hungarian creative team. The irresistibly amusing work of the Mischief Theater was presented to the audience in a replica performance, directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward – We Fail Tonight. The play is in Hungarian language.

Even though the play has been written in 1994 can be traced of to-day’s happenings about kids age 6 to 30, a band of classmates. They quarrel and play, but they rarely test the assumption that their character is formed in childhood. The authors of the piece, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, collected seemingly absurd yet real-life situations and conversations. The piece was translated by György Baráthy.

The comedy takes the audience on a journey through the lives of kids, their kindergarten experience within five characters rolling in timeline off to their high school experience, thereafter a few years later following them at high school reunion experiences.

In a nutshell …The comedy takes the audience on a journey through the lives of 5 kids met in the kindergarten in 1994. Friendships are formed and there personalities begins to develop. By the time they reach their teenage years and see them again, their characters have slightly changed. In their teens the hormones and ambitions had pushed their characters in different stage. As they gathered again their adult years are much different when they were children … Or either not really?

The actors brilliant young talents : Moon – Eszter Földes, Spencer – Zoltán Schmied, Katie – Katalin Ágoston, Archie – Tibor Fehér, Simon – András Mészáros, Paul – Mr. Whit, Miss Murry & Chemise Murry – Nóra Trógán.

The play is also special because the actors play their same role as young children, teenagers and adults in their thirties. The fabulous cast is loading up the stage with gags and the audience continuously breaks out with hilarious laughter and big applaud.

Probably many even have their own childhood in mind to sympathize with the characters – for many to recall this-and-that.

). Isaac Stern and Pablo Casals learned of Zukerman’s violin talent during a 1962 visit to Israel. Zukerman subsequently moved to the United States that year to study at the Juilliard School under Stern and Ivan Galamian. He made his New York City debut in 1963. In 1967, he shared the Leventritt Prize with the Korean violinist Kyung-wha Chung. On March 25, 2021, the MÁV Symphony Orchester prepared for a festive concert on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of Béla Bartók. The concert would have been made even more celebratory by the performance of world-renowned violin and violinist Pinchas Zukerman. His idea was the special “birthday present” to perform the duo of Zoltán Kodály with the help of the wife of an excellent cellist at the beginning of the concert. The work, composed in 1914, is Hungarian music to the fullest, using the possibilities of the two instruments beautifully. The Viola Competition was created during the composer’s emigration to the United States, but due to his illness he was no longer able to finish it. The competition was completed by his friend, Tibor Serly, following the author’s sketches and personal guidance. This concert was missed in 2021 due to the corona epidemic, but to the for music-loving audience with great pleasure Pinchas Zukerman and Amanda Forsyth will come to Budapest and hopefully that this time there will be no obstacle to holding the special concert.
