The final  day has come to the countdown at the undoubtedly surpasses ground than ever to be held the SPAR European Cross-Country Championship at the  historical grounds on the Skanzen’s Open Air Museum.

What a Day for the athletes and the visitors at the 19th SPAR European Championship with over five hundred athletes. The  nomination  for  the six individuals and the eight teams were awaiting to  be  seen as the champions. All the athletes had to fulfill the 8.05 kilometers distance in running.

The weather may have looked delightful, seeing the clear blue skies, the sun was shining, yet for the visitors and the competitive athletes, the chilly cold, high winds was also a challenge to follow by the grand teams on the run. Each-and-every athlete had to test their physical condition, strength, own fitness while having to have had reached the rising hill-like paths. At this point surely took a bit of everyone’s strength, but it just took a blink or two and off they were on the run again. The snowy, icy grounds also was a huge challenge even though on the bottom of their shoes they had pins and nails to avoid the run without slipping.

Some athletics admitted, this was one of a kind of ground they ever ran, but it is surely is a great practicing racing field to their forthcoming races. As they said, while running, passing by on the tracks they had time to look, see the Skanzen’s awesome landscape of historical houses, barns, farm-yards of the regions of Hungary, which they enjoyed so much.

In the women’s 8,050 meters race the Irish lady, Fionnuala Britton blasted out at the start  and was able to keep the distance between the others. It  was only 2 seconds, the Portuguese Dulce Felix finished in the 2nd place and 3 seconds later, the Dutch Adrienne Herzog was ranked in the 3rd place. Britton was able to keep her previous victory on the running routes at the Skanzen’s Open Air Ethnographic Museum, at Szentendre. Britton will most probably remember her own run and her team’s victory at the Sklanzen  fields, leaving Hungary with the two gold medals.

The field awaited the 92 men along with the defending champion Bekele Atelaw  from Belgium and the nine-time champion of  Ukraine Serhiy Lebin. Lalli  finally, neither they, nor the others could really pinch his speed. The Italian Andrea Lalli, as a “road runner” won the 9,880 meters individual race. Seeing him running on the tracks, no sign on the style of his running getting exhausted was traced. He ran with confident. Often was seen as him running alone. One or two occasion he took a look to his back as to see the distance where the other athletic are. They say in life 10 seconds ain’t a big deal, but for Lalli it meant a lot, the Gold Medal!  Here at the Skanzen’s less easy running field he was able to gain the title as the best athletic runner on the continent of Europe. Within his results his name will surely open a chapter in the history book of sports, as the one who managed within his athletics career to fulfill the  triple success. In 2006, as a junior, then to be the fastest runner at the U23 European Championship and surely there will be more running fields, seeing him where he can prove he is the fastest runner in Europe!

The 2nd to cross the line at the tough routes in the men’s race was the French Hassan Chahdiutott, who in 2010 won the U23 gold medal. The 3rd place was well deserved by the also Italian athletic Daniele Meucci who won the silver medal on the run at this year’s 10000 meters outdoor European Championships.

The competitive athletes  from Ireland  won the team competition, ahead of the French and the British team.

The best Hungarian competitor Albert Minczér, crossed the line at the 29th place and Barnabas Bene at the 51st place.

The start-up of two Hungarian ladies, Szófia Erdélyi crossed the line at the 40th , while Krisztina Papp ranked the 43rd place.

In the four junior race the young Hungarian athletes had been given the opportunity to stand on the start line. The junior István Király crossed the line in being the 53rd and Kriszta Kószás the 65th, while Dani Áron, in the U23 was ranked at the 64th  place.  Representing Hungary in the U23 women’s field, Réka Czebe ended her race at the 42nd place.

A tough week-end for the arrival of the teams to participate at the 19th SPAR European cross-country championship. The “Ferenc Liszt” airport of Budapest was closed yesterday around midday, due to a technical problem which occurred in the electric supply system. Minute-by-minute all channels were boiling, how to have the teams arrive safe and sound for the Sunday’s Spar European Cross-country competition!?!

Each and everyone in the  EAC and the LOC  had their share to handle this unexpected and superhuman tasks.

They all definitely deserve “an acknowledgment medal” for  their own multiplied marathon run …  racing in time to acheive all  participating members to arrive!

For the first time, the organizing committee was challenged to handle and learn the lesson which should be kept in mind as for the future in preparing, organizing the  forthcoming  SPAR European cross-country championship.

Never-the-less, still to come, being in the Olympic year another adrenaline game is to come tomorrow outside of Budapest at Szentendre, out and around the area of  the Skanzen,  the greatest open-air folk museum in Hungary.

Quotes from the Press conference:

P1280065Miklós Gyulai – LOC President,  Chairman of the Organizing Committee at the Hungarian Athletics Association said: “The many foreign participants flew to Vienna, Bratislava, and  Belgrade, from where buses came to Hungary. Hopefully we will see at the open-air museum of Skanzen the well-deserved champion athletes in the years to come at the SPAR  European Cross-Country competitions. approximately, one year ago we have started a new program, as  to open grounds, to involve children into the world of track and field grounds. Naturally, it will come with training the trainers as well.”  He mentioned that this year was a grand year for the Hungarian athletics. “Not only we are proud of Krisztián Pars, winning the gold medal at the London Olympic Games 2012, but in addition to reach adult successes, we stepped forward after the supplementation level.  Also hope the European Championship will bring success a another cream on top of the cake getting close to the  end of this year!Mr. Gyulai, wished all the competitors the best of luck may the best win!”

Also important to have professionally educated trainers in the field and track division who will give a chance for  the children of to-day to be the future athletic champions of tomorrow.”

P1280062 Miklós Cseri – LOC co-president, Director General at  the Skanzen’s Open-Air Ethnography Museum at Szentendre. „I beleive for the country cross competition this is  a significant area. Nowhere else in Europe  was arranged a cross-country championship on a site like this at the Skanzen a cross-country championship. Whereas, the  Course will take place running in the past of Hungary’s  18 and 19 century buildings, hilly and lower grounds, barns, windmills, shadoof,  farming in the past with its unique Hungarian scene,  and in the meantime getting a flavor our  history. So when I was asked why at the Skanzen wish  bring  the SPAR European cross-country championship. My answer was very simple: “I would like to have Paula Radcliffe running her special set  between and around the Open-Air Museum. So it seem to have  been a good enough reason and even was included in the promo material.” Yes, it will be a rememberable event for the locals and foreigner audience to root for the best-of-the-bests.”  Just wish to mention,  seeing a picture of Hungary’s history through and by the run-around, passing the folk houses and farming scene is to be as showing a window of our homeland.

Mr. Christian Mitz – EAC Director General …  First words cheered everyone in the press hall by admitting Out in the countryside  at the Skanzen the grounds and weather is creepy, but  „No matter of any weather conditions … A mark of a good sailor is to be/stay in the boat!”   … For the summer competitions  preparing in the winter snowy field could be good, but  in the winter the snowy field, experiencing it at to-day’s weather would perhaps rather be better to called to hold the cross-country skiing. Continued by saying: “Knowing, the top athletics are coming from Africa,  but keeping that in mind the SPAR European cross-country championship is all about Europe.”

Mr Christian Milz, the European Athletics Association (EAA), General Director:  Expressed his thanks to the whole LOC  administration of handling this major unexpected technical problem which showed up at the Budapest’s Airport.  Reflecting on the weather conditions  his words cheered everyone in the press hall by admitting: “Out in the countryside  at the Skanzen the grounds and weather is creepy, but  „No matter of any weather conditions … A mark of a good sailor is to be/stay in the boat!”  For the summer competitions  preparing in the winter snowy field could be a terrific experience, but at the same time, in the winter on the snowy, slippy field, experiencing it the way as it  is, perhaps would rather better to be called as  the cross-country skiing.” Continued by saying: “Knowing, the top athletics are from Africa,  but keeping that in mind the SPAR European cross-country championship is here and all about the grand athletics of Europe!”

Then came a short break and during  that time the media representatives  had a chance to speak with the competitors.

P1280172

…Gold medallist  of 1500m,  at Helsinki 2012 – Henrik Ingebrigtsen (NOR) “Last year I was taken away from running caused by an injury.  So far, I consider the track and field competitions of the season went well. Previously coming to Hungary I worked hard to be in my best shape and hopefully I will be able to show it tomorrow out on the Skanzen’s fields.”

P1280133

Finnuala Britton, Ireland defending champion of the women’s competition, told us she was already out to see the grounds at the  Szentendre’s : “I believe the hilly course will be a major challenge for the start-ups but  also everyone can count on seeing tomorrow an awesome, spectacular race.

P1280116…Junior women’s SPAR European cross-country champion – Emelia Gorecka (UK) “I really would like to defend my previous junior women’s cross-country title and naturally be the winner this time again! Seen the venue and I think it is a superb area to be a shot out on the run.  Same goes for me as “The Beatles” sang  !!!I feel fine!!!  and going to bring the best out of me!  I know out there the eyes will be sharply watching me and awaiting to defend my championship title. I am also aware there will be a couple of bursting in racers. Keeping that in mind, watching out for all unexpected situations.”

P1280112Sándor Szabó (HUN) “I know the Skanzen’s ground will not be an easy track to run, but I will be not on my own. All the competitors will row in the same boat. Same goes for me, I  and everyone else in this competition have to also fight against the weather conditions … the snow, maybe some spots of frozen tracks, harsh winds and not to talk about  the “hottest”  temperature being -3C. Anyway, I wish to run as fast as I can and will see where the road leads me to.”

P1280170

Mentioning two Hungarian’s to keep an eye on: Barnabás Bene, the adult male and  Sándor Szabó in the U23 field may finish the lineup within the first ten runners. Both fulfilled their ground running tests. They are strong!

Thanks to the local arrangement the number of competing teams are rather higher than normally competing abroad. Therefore, beside already known Europe’s fine runners, expect to be seeing a great line up of Hungarian cross-country runners on Sunday at the SPAR  Cross Country European Championship, where else than out on the fields of the Skanzen, just approximately 20minutes drive from Budapest, passing  Szentendre thenafter, reaching the Skanzen’s Open-Air Museum and your there to see where the action starts!

Don’t miss it,  be out at the Skanzen tomorrow … or .. if you cannot make it, then  see how all the competitors will try to prove their best  through the television channels from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. or get to see the latest  headlines on the European Athletics website

TEN YEARS AFTER – TEN WINES FROM THE POLGÁR WINERY AT THE SYMBOL RESTAURANT – BUDAPEST

Here just eight out of ten!

Here just eight out of ten!

Upon invitation to the Polgár Winery joined at the Symbol restaurant Budapest  at a wine tasting evening, connected with a presentation of the 10 best Polgár’s wines from the past 10 years.  The Polgár’s Winery branch name spells the tradition, synonymous with the production of their quality wines. Previously to each and every tasting Mr. Zoltán Polgár spoke about the year’s weather condition, how much it counts. As it was said, it always leaves the fingerprints on which special year it was bottled.

Before we were led to the cellar at the Symbol Restaurant to receive double pleasure with the delicious dinner „escorted by” wine-tasting as „side dishes”, just in brief of the Polgár winery.

Mr. Zoltán Polgár

Mr. Zoltán Polgár

Quote: : “Since 1993, we  are working at the same area and the developments are continuously going on. In addition, we opened our thirty-room bed and breakfast guesthouse.  Opened a new cellar for the young and elder people at a 300  and 400 years  old cellar.  The cellar is capable to welcome  groups of 350 to 400 people. In addition, we also provide wine with meals to individuals staying at the nearby farms. This year we have made experimental tests  by adding other segments to our wines.  Currently, genetically resistant to new ideas and experiment. We will see the results by tasting it next year. We care continuously innovating and also handled several large investments. so we were told by  Mr.Zoltán Polgár.

During the supper, especially selected wines were served by Mr. Balázs Kapronczai,  the son-in-law of Mr.Zoltán Polgár.

During the presentation,  Ms. Agnes Herczeg, dinner wine expert guided us along the winding, but beautiful road

Mr. Polgár and Ms. Herczeg

viewing slide show shots taken at the Polgár winery. Following the presentation (background, development, investments) came the Special Wine Dinner! We were led to the cellar area. The delicious supper was prepared just for us, „escorted by” fine red and white wines as „side escorts”!

This evening was very special, why?…because usually people have to travel to Hungary’s winery areas, which are at many areas in the country, to have the experience  in tasting grand wines in the cosy cellar. This time „ the store … the cellar” came to us!  Mr. Zoltán Polgár bottled his fantastic, captivating personality in his wines and brought for our pleasure in not just simply tasting his 10 year’s wines, but he gave a superb presentation to know the unique in flavors backgrounds as well.

The young adults began, for the first time with a “carbon maceration” method produced nectar tasting the contraband, which this year was out as the year’s new wine on the St. Martin’s Day. Two Pinot Noir was also reflected in the expert audience, a 2011 and a 2004 vintage. In the year 2010, they came out with a white wine, this Chardonnay was fermented in the new barrels, told us Mr. Zoltán Polgár.

Quote from Ms. Herczeg: „The basement of the characterized by continuous renewal of nature and the traditional values of this product. Perhaps this is why the Polgár authentically represents me in the cellar XXI. century sense, good vineyard, with  the music of the band or strip of Balkan Fanatik, they are for me the wine of the winery’s wines Polgár. Also, I would like to emphasize only four wines. The fresh 2012 Portuguese real fruit like a bomb exploded, just as one would expect from red primer. The 2004 Pinot Noir is still in the developmental stage, but will soon reach its peak, but has very large reserves, no need to rush  to open the bottle. Among the Cuvier’s, it is difficult choice because each one has a different beauty. The new blend, the Credo is very young and full of power, energy. I think we’ll hear a lot about it in the future. The 2003 Elixir gracefully and elegantly finished the row, fatigue, showing no signs of a drop. Lucky, who still has it. One thing is certain, then, after tasting more like we got to visit the cellar and the farm because have to admit, the Polgár wines are good, and there is also a beautiful farm to be visited”

Finding  good wine is not always a simple tasks. This time no search was need. Excellent wines from the Polgár winery at the  Symbol Restaurant made many our day, I mean made our evening!

5TH TENNIS CLASSIC TOURNAMENT – BUDAPEST – 2012.

TENNIS IS A TRUE FAMILY SPORT!

ONE NIGHT IN BUDAPEST …  WHERE THE BALLS WITHIN THEIR SPEED ALMOST FLEW INTO SPACE … NO BATTLES, SIMPLY TRUE ENTERTAINMENT WAS GIVEN BY CARLOS MOYA, MARK  PHILIPPOUSSES, JANKA TIPSAREVICS, GILLES SIMON AND MANSOUR BAHRAMI!

P1270575

Budapest, again brought professional athletes of the world’s tennis elite to the László Papp Sport Arena!

The season was here again for the fans to welcome the champions at the 5th Tennis Classic here in Budapest! The champions on the tennis court played an awesome, true, tricky style match full of emotion at the indoors of the László Papp Sport Arena on Tuesday. No surprise the arena was fully packed and surely this evening will be remembered for a long time.

P1270587

The play started late afternoon with both singles and a double’s competition. Five o’clock on sharp the opening ceremony took place by welcoming the players out on the tennis court. The marvelous show began a little after 5 p.m. with two greaties: Carlos Moya vs. Mark Philippoussis. The show continued with two other icons: Janko Tipsarevic vs. Gilles Simon and the cherry on top of the cake was the double match by Carlos Moya – Gilles Simon. vs. Janko Tipsarevic – Mansour Bahrami… Gosh what a night!

Just in brief, a couple of thoughts about the grand players:

Mark, the Mate from Downunder, now living in San Diego, but as he told me he miss alot his sis and brother and the whole family and of course the place he grew up...:-(

Mark, the Mate from Downunder, now living in San Diego, but as he told me he miss alot his sis and brother and the whole family and of course the place he grew up…:-(

Mark Philippoussis born in Melbourne. Son of Italian and Greek perants … No wonder he has that Mediterranean looks.  In less than twenty years later he became one of the most popular tennis players.Keeping that mind, it wasn’t any easy task when out on the tennis courts Ivanisevics, Agassi, Sampras, Kafelnyikov and others engraved their names.  The Aussie Mate made it by eleven ATP Career titles, two Grand Slam finals, Davis Cup triumph and numerous awards stoned mark no ordinary journey. After his “hell fast” serve time, with his 229 kilometers/punched ace gained  his nickname “the Scud”  (US rocket) on the court fields. At the age of 18, as the youngest athletics was already in the field of best 50 players. During the same year was his first contact with Hungary at the memorable Davis Cup clash with Jozsef Krocskó’s  where and when the sensational victory was gained over the super talented Aussie.

Carlos Moya ...two-handed backhand rolling his racket as powerful bomb.

Carlos Moya …two-handed backhand rolling his racket as powerful bomb.

Former world’s first number one, Spanish professional tennis player Carlos Moya, started playing tennis at the age six. His one of those lucky person’s who has more options in using both of his hands. Born left-handed in writing and plays right-handed. But if that’s not enough for him then he plays two-handed backhand rolling his racket as powerful bomb. Since he went in 1997 Downunder and suprized the audience of his talent at the Australian Open where he was first defeated by Sampras, but continued his careers, victories when came the Roland Garros, Grand Slam tournament, but he finally brought the fiesta to the Spaniards by winning the Davis Cup. In the set, the Spanish won 6:4. The second game brought the Aussie Mate the game on the top. Reaching closely to the end of their final term of ten points, neither of the players were mercy on each other. Moya quickly pulled away and won 10-7 the match.

Gilles Simon

Gilles Simon

Gilles Simon, former World No.:6, French professional tennis player, ten-time winner on the ATP World Tour. His first ATP Challenger was in 2005. Then came for him as well the Australian Open the first grand slam of the year in 2006. Here in Budapest he showed and proved his “label” with his backhand shots. He was always considered as best of being capable of expertly creating angles and varying his shots. Was great to view him as keeping the ball on his strings until the very last moment. Several occasions he rushed-in to the net off as to make a little squeezy break up the rhythm of the ball. We saw how he enjoyed  doing that “puzzle” to the other side. Simon is considered as a big server but we saw he is absolutely a powerful player.

Janko Tipsarevic

Janko Tipsarevic

Janko Tipsarevicborn  in Belgrade – Serbia,  Former Yugoslavia, started his career just the same as many others. He was age 6 when he held his first racket. He also won in 2001  the junior title at the Australia Open in the  Boys’ Singles. (How strange that many tennis classic of to-day all stated the tennis career Dowunder!) Won several tournaments, and as to his best result was at  the Grand Slam  at the US Open of 2011. The second  pair out on the court ground was: Tipsarevic and Simon. In minutes it was seen there was no more “happy-go-lucky-me”, no longer  on the tennis court,  we saw a real world of “hell serious” match.Their first set at their opening game was an excellent tool, well received, and the table showed 6:3. thereafter, at the second set the, “philosopher of Tennis” nicknamed Serbian tennis player quickly decided that this night is not about rivals, but even though the  At the second set with the 6:3 Spanish man won the set again by 6:3.

Mansour Bahrami

Mansour Bahrami

The French-Iranian senior professional tennis player over his 50s, still a terrific tennis player. I bet most of the young tennis players wish to be as him when they reach his age. Iranian born “magician’ of his racket plays as if it is the simplest thing in the world to run for your life with your racket to finally hit the served ball. When he entered the tennis ground the whole arena welcomed him cheering  and clapping to show their appreciation for coming again to Budapest to see his superb technics (which you just can’t get enough to see) at the  5th Tennis Classic Tournament of this year. Bahrami’s name was often  loudlycalled by the audience showing how much they are breathing with him as one. Beside a great tennis player…What a superb showman  an unforgettable evening he shared with the public on the spot.

Last but not least, the real showtime began a little after 8 p.m. The audience got what it takes watching the great players, as Simon with Moya and Tipsarevic with Mansour Bahrami in pairs ended the amazing tennis Gala showing their perfect skills.

Balázs Taróczy, Director of the Tournament

Balázs Taróczy, Director of the Tournament

Great thanks goes out to Balázs Taróczy,  Tennis Classic Tournament Director for keeping the light on by cherishing his deep love for tennis and to have been working hard with his team to make the tennis lovers their day.. Also thumbs-up to the supporters, which made it happen, to be able to organize for the 5th time  the presence of providing a superb evening at the tennis court-yard at the László Papp Sport Arena in Budapest.

Janka’s … registered …uh…oh … special figure touch!

Ain’t spilling the beans …  so being interested where and when the grand tennis players with their balls and rackets  show-up next, if so set your timing to follow the Australian Open Tennis Tournament from Monday, January, 14 rolling through Monday, January, 27. 2013. anyone can see them. I am most sure, the lucky ones in-and-around Melbourne – Australia will be out there to catch up with what’s the lastest scores and  as for the less lucky ones, or not …  they will probably be relaxing, watching on telly the balls fly high  at home in their comfy  armchair.

He quoted after the finish of the celebrity race the following: „How wonderful it could be, if everyone could show their happiness for the success of the otherone”. So well said, this cannot be tought. Pitty it is often missing. His auxiliary chaser was the seven-time world champion Vilmos Lázár.

Sunday, afternoon – December, 2.

“Meeting the press” …

four-in-hand international team

Group snap of the four-in-hand international team

Four-in-hand - first three winners

…The four-in-hand race ended and was won with a huge victory for IJsbrand Chardon (NL) – (217,18). The second place went out to also to the Dutch, Theo Timmerman (NL) – (225,18) and at the 3rd place Boyd Excell, the Aussie finished the race  at (225,53). Koos de Ronde ended up being the 4th (NL) –  (118,74).

… Do not wish to sound as a bit vicious, but I would say the four-time world champion, the Dutch Chardon went both time clear rounds … no wonder … riding with one of the horses in the four-in-hand was the Hungarian owned, borrowed from elder, József Dobrovitz (soon he will buy the horse) won the race „no surprize” the Hungarian Lipizzaner horses are one of the kind. This was Chardon’s first time competing here in Budapest. Finished to the 2nd  place, Theo Timmerman and Boyd Exell, the aussie at the 3rd position. Excell, the five-time FEI World Cup champion knocked down one of the balls. It wasn’t noticed by the juries and the race went on. After the race he went and told the officials what has happened, lost some points and this lead him to the result to the 3rd place. Now, Excell is a real sportsman and indeed the sport world not just Downunder surely will be pleased hearing to have a sporty Mate filled with spirit of fair play!!! Exell, also raced within the four-in-hand horses and one of the four was also the Hungarian breed, Lipizzaner horse. Who knows, could be the two Lipizzaner horses are jolly-good mates and they didn’t wish to be rival  on this time. Overall, we are sure Excell being a great sportsman was happy that Chardon and Timmerman made that terrific race, but as for beating him most probably he wasn’t flying  10 feet above the grounds. Oh well, the racing ground are open, so who knows what tomorrow may bring.

… Elder, József Dobrovitz  5th (HUN) – (121,29)József Dobrovitz Jr. 6th  (HUN) – (148,04).  Dobrovitz Jr.  was carried away pretty wild on the tracks with his new leader horse among the other three  Lipizzaner horses. Somehow, they as a whole wasn’t as one. The other four-in-hand, Hungarian László Kecskeméti 7th  – (152,51) couldn’t pull up to his best performance, most probably it had a lot to do for having driving in advance with these horses for only a fortnight. Unfortunately, both of them were not able to reach a better result, but I must say it was a tough and a very strong field.

Riders uner the age of 25. with the Turkey's winner .

Reaching close to the end of this fabulous 3 days highlighted sporty events, the Herend Grand Prix  took over the indoor’s ground.  Here were eight best young riders under the age of 25. The winner of  the Herend Grand Prix prize was the Omer Karaeli, Turkish rider who made a strong intro that was hard to top the  lesson.

At the 2nd place  the British Aston Chloe was celebrated. Chloe Aston the 2nd (UK)

The László Papp Sport Arena regularly organize sport events among other huge cultural events. Saturday morning, began with the Driving the Junior World Cup featuring the pony coach riders. An enjoyable, excellently prepared show was out to see.

Lorenzo meeting the press

The Flying Frenchman, Lorenzo is the real example of  amazing horsemanship!

His concept: “Live your Life with passion!

After the press meeting had a short talk with Lorenzo.  Asked him: “Knowing you have 30 horses,  how can you deal with them at a time?” Quote: Lorenzo: ” I was fascinated by the sight of horses when I was 6 yrs.old. I only started  performing when I reached my  teenager age. I realized, a man lives with his horse. It’s a unique experience of partnership. Obtaining by his instinct alone. It has to be a complete  relationship of understanding. Man and horse must have the  partnership between each other. The horse feels every single thought of  the rider, if they are together as one then the horse will do whatever the rider wish  to achieve. I train with them every single day of the year.” Don’t they get tired? “They never get tired, they have more energy than me myself.”  Having 30 horses in the stable, isn’t it hard to keep in mind all their names when it come you take them for training? “No not at all, I know each and every one of their names”  Can you tell me the names of the  wonders you will be coming out this evening?  Lorenzo putting on a wide smile said: “Yes, why not” So here  are  the names of the horses he brought along, with whom he will carry be doing the show on each dayof the event at the László Papp Sport Arena.  I think it is worthwhile to at least hear their names that aren’t probably heard too often, but  sure deserves to be known: “ROUBIA-RAIANA-RAIVA-RAIVOSA-XL-VIDO-ATLAS-ANTARES-SARA-ZAMRUCA-GINIA-XERINE”A couple of minutes before 8 p.m. the Sport Arena lights went off and the quiet was “so loud” in the  whole stadium awaiting for the Flying Frenchman, Lorenzo to enter the sandy ground with his eight horses, the white beauties. I can imagen many in the audience held their breath watching the sophisticated horses and the feeling the vibes in the air. It seemed the white beauties controlled Lorenzo! Unbelievable, knowing the horses don’t have the human’s brains, they absolutely behaved  the way a man-to-man talks to them. Breathtaking performance which I believe everyone there will cherish this evening’s memory  for a lifetime.

Watching Lorenzo with  his beautiful horses it was perfectly clear to see on both sides they all enjoy what they doing. The audience hearts just blew away. He brought the performance unique into our world. Suppose not just the full arena’s audience adrenaline grew higher-and-higher but most probably Lorenzo and the 8 beauty’s adrenaline heights beat the top as well.

Lorenzo’s concept of life: Live from the passion! What we have seen gave us the proof  and  absolutely convinced all of us of his concept! Here is a short video to taste  Lorenzo’s and his eight beauties awesome show at the 6th OTP Bank Equestrian World Cup of  December, 1. 2012 at the László Papp Sport Arena:

Big and small MUKI

… The two mascots,

…  Muki, the big and Muki, the small,

… were out rolling along the sidewalks and paths in the arena,

… stopping by, greeting the kids with alittle cuddle here and a little cuddle  there,

… the kids simply loved them.

THE COUNTDOWN TO THE 6TH “OTP” EQUESTRIAN WORLD CUP ENDED THIS MORNING

P1270107

The  OTP Equestrian World Cup  2012 – Budapest,  press and media conference was held in the late  morning hours of to-day by Mr. Sándor Lezsák, vice president of the National Assembly, Mr. László Horváth, appointed prime minister trustee, Mr. Vilmos Lázár, president of the Association of Hungarian Sport Horse at the László Papp Sport Arena‘s Press Hall. Mr. Károly Fehér, chief press agent.

Also to-day was the DayZero – Children’s Day throughout the whole day!

P1270125

“In Hungary, it is visible again the Renaissance of the Equestrian Sport”, these were the opening words by Mr. Sándor Lezsák, Vice President of the National Assembly – one of the initiator of the program. Mr.Lezsák said: “At Lakitelek, operates the largest equestrian association in Hungary. Almost every day a couple of riders go out to the field. At this large farm field horses are getting in touch with the kids and the kids are building their relationship between horses. Many individuals are working hard in the background to make it happen to Hungary as to be a worthy, reach a place in the world of the equestrian culture.

P1270123

Mr. László Horváth, the ministerial commissioner initiated some horse sport related  current and distal possibilities. He told us: “Throughout the country this year the number of horse services increased in 60%. By the end of the year the number of registered rider’s figures will increase by 5-10%. Continued: “In the frame of the „Euro Horse” paths and routes to establish the landscapes for horse riders are being in progress by horse riders. The designation is nearly 10000 kilometers. This guideline will be available on the GPS network. The whole route map will be completed by May next year.

Talking about goals: “One of the highest goals is to bring the equestrian culture as a subject into the schools walls. The horse culture integration in the curriculum would touch many and by the gain knowledge the hidden love for the horses might awaken the kids to ride, continue the tradition of becoming the nation’s  horse riders or those who step out into the world of being an Equestrian champion.”

“In 2013, from the beginning on first day of the school year, starting here in September,  hopefully, it will be with the context of physical education, or as an optional educational opportunity incorporation to higher the standards of our equestrian culture.” The education will continue throughout three grades from the 3rd up till the 5th grade at the secondary schools.  Naturally, the gym teachers training should be incorporated into the system, just as well as the  riding courses. The ministerial commissioner was already happy to say: “Already, about 200 schools indicated that they are seriously thinking of introducing the horse culture as a plus subject within the physical education or to add it as a teaching faculty.” Another piece of  information said by him: “Plans are out now to create by January,2014 an existing „Rider Holding Network”, which would be uniformly in the vocational training through the breeding, culture, education, tourism and would handle the question of the functioning of the state studs.  Understood …  MUST is the great lord … as he continued: “The breeding, horse keeping and training an adequate number of skilled horse specialists must be available. It is as important for all sport parties, just as an example, in the swimming pools the breast, the back stroke or even in the freestyle… it is not enough to be trained in theory, without the appropriate practically knowledge!”  That’s right little can be achieved in the pools.”  Well said!

“Next week, the national equestrian program will be going on decisions on the level of  government negotiations.”

Yes indeed … The 185 year old history in the Hungarian horse racing and race horses traditions has to be brought back from the past. However, the whole sector can not function without the budget support for operation and most of all little can be achieved without the appropriate training.

Mr. László Német, spread two good news  that’s in  the air: ” The complete reconstruction of Szilvásvárad Equestrian Stadium will be supported by the government and also the National Horseback Riding.” unfortunately last year the Carpathian basin and the Children’s Horse Riding Archery meeting were cancelled, but it is necessary and  must be supported in the coming years.”

P1270124

Mr. Vilmos Lázár started his talk by welcoming the present VIP’s, press, media, celebrities saying the following:  „Every year, we sit down and look back at the past year’s competitions, in a way it  holds up-and-downs but this is kinda natural with the equestrian sports people. So at least when I’m asked, no one have never heard me saying I am satisfied, but this is most probably the way the sportsmen  express themselves.  Being here and to see we have reached this grand day to open the OTP Equestrian World Cup seems to be worthwhile and not a wasted effort. Already soften reflections of pleased faces with the shining eyes. I still must admit that there are still many more tasks to be handled than there are behind us.

Most probably we are now at the biggest equestrian event. This in a way reflects, shows the face of our country. The entire national equestrian program is a window to our showcase!

Today, on the DayZero it  is the children’s day! It is important for us to show the children of to-day the ponies, horses and the horse-riders. Giving them a chance to enjoy their stay and  cherish sweet memories of their time spent, seeing, being close to the horses and hopefully in many will make a difference in their lives gain from these influences. The national equestrian culture is all about teaching the kids not only to meet the horses, but to visit any other events connected to the horses as well. We are aware the horse industry is not able to be financed by the state, but being among the member states of the EU, we have to turn our eyes to the West experiences. These countries are more advanced in financing in the competitor sport.  Being abroad, at many competitions, throughout my active sportlife and in the recent years, I have seen how the sponsors financially giving their helping hand to bring under the umbrella a grand equestrian event.  Yes, have to keep in mind those individuals, families, private companies, competitive industries, horse riders, horse keepers, professionals in this field, the lovers of  the horse sport supporting the equestrian event. Naturally,  it is not just a give and take  event. The sponsors awaits to be well served in every way. Of course, they are awaiting for their brand to appear and be recognized properly. Else what’s important for them is to feel good in the environment they sponsored. They are “theeeee” VIP’s, exactly those individuals who make the horses and the horse riders win the events. Back in the first year of the equestrian event the main goal was to make the show roll along. This was the main emphasis, but there were many people whilst the show took place who responded as highly enjoying the presence of jumping numbers, also how attractive, superb time they spent at the events. We are happy to be seen in the growing of the horse-related activities.” Within every good there is always a little sadness, Mr. Vilmos Lázár expressed his a bit down with to-day’s horse related situation  „I am a bit sad but  have high hopes that in the profession field which now-a-days it ain’t running so well, it is like still water, believe this won’t be holding back for long and  awaiting for many expansion in the world of Equestrian for the change to come.

P1270145

Mr. Vilmos Lázár’s final words were:

“Our window  … is meant to be created as to show to the world our Equestrians”

P1270239

As the press conference was coming to the end, an award ceremony took place to announce the winners of the “Horse  Nation – during the season of 2011-2012” competition by votes through the Facebook.

LAJVÉR – AVANTGARDE – WINERY FROM SZEKSZÁRD

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

THE NEW WAVE OF SZEKSZÁRD … WINERY STILL IN  PROGRESS!

Hungary’s one of the biggest event of the year is the real harvest festival held at the city of Szekszárd. This goes for four days with also multio-arts out as well. I’m not far from being wrong saying when in Hungary anyone mentions the word Szekszárd, immediately rings the bell of its smooth, delicious red wines.

Now, for one night Szekszárd’s Lajvér wines rolled over to  the  Mix Club, a cosy place with modern elegance at Budapest’s district VI., Eiffel Square  by bringing to introduce, taste their eight wines, which are so characteristic of its region’s nectar.

A  brief video presentation was shown of the brand new winery which have had been brought under shelter with the aid from the EU.

A superb  out-and-out contemporary, modern, avant-garde dance show highlighted the evening  presented by Mr. Zoltan Grecsó dance artist and his partner. See snaps.

From one tasting to the other, Ms. Agnes Herczeg wine expert, took us on wine tour to the valley of Lajvér.

“A drop to California  in the Valley of  Lajvér  …  A brand new winery,  with the appearance of the Avantgarde Lajvér wine has brought a new color on the palette to the Szekszárd wines. In just a  twink or two  it burst into the public consciousness.

During the evening  the winery’s white, rosé, red, siller, and four red wines were  presented to be tasted.

The evening’s first wine to be tasted was the 2012 Cuvée Blanc  (Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Cserszegi spice blend), which pulsating the life of Paris,  elegance  and lightness. A true cosmopolitan, fragrant, a  fun- fruit-bomb!

The following was a very fresh, clean,  primeur rosé. This wine is a very promising and  exciting taste.

The next one was the “siller”,  a barrel sample based on the kadarka, gave a feeling of a spicy and exotic taste.

Last but  not least came the “reddies”…  which were  full of  fruit blending, rich red and blackberry. As was told a real everyday wine. There is only one problem, if it can at all be called as a problem … HAS NO NAME!   The winery has in mind to open a competition to find  the perfect names to their perfect red wines.

The executive, Mr. Gábor Beni said as introducing their wine from  the Lajvér Valley: “The goal was to create a California-style wine in all its aspects. It is displayed in the basis of quality and technological level and with its style of the wines. The fruity fragrance, rich in flavor, full wines from the Wine territories. The traditions and characteristics provides the perfect base. So from now on “wine lovers” needn’t have  to travel to California’s Napa Valley, to get that outstanding, rich in taste because the domestic shelves will also  hold  all the packing material and style of the wines in the international format. Look for the Szekszárd editions and especially the brand: Avantgarde Lajvér Wine.

The evening was hosted by Mr Sándor Nagy, popular media presenter.

Thanks to Red Lemon Media for the invitation, had a splendid evening and hope this update targets those who are  interested in good Hungarian wines. So keep your eyes wide open!
