Alessandro Narducci  the youngest Italian Michelin-starred chef!

Even though Alessandro Narducci did not live above a pizza restaurant … already had great passion in creating, preparing food specialties in his earlier age.

His parents already saw his addiction in cooking, so as a  gift enrolled him to a cooking school and from there he spread his wings chef’s career. Traveled around the world to catch up, learn through close observation the stratagems from other cook sciences.

Alessandro’s beloved career as a chef and as well been loved by individuals in the professional field was able to share with other individuals his professional life and his private values. His career was short in time ended with a car accident. His parents decided to keep the light on Alessandro’s heritage to the future chef generation as a model by creating an international prize named after their son “Alassandro Narducci Prize.”

The event was organized in the frame of the 9th World Italian Gastronomy Week in Budapest by the Italian Embassy in BudapestItalian Chamber of Commerce (CCIU), Italian Cultural Institute, Italian Institute for Trade Development (ICE Budapest), Italian Tourism Office (ENIT) and Italian Academy of Cuisine at the Budapest’s Italian Culture Institute.  The Tor Carbone IPSEDA School of Catering had prepared in tasting: “Rolling in Puglia on the Pasta Paths”, “Rolling in Tuscany on the Chanti Paths” and “Rolling in Lazio on the Oil Paths, also coupled with tasting the  typical wines from the region of Puglia … Chanti … Lazio.

About the International Alessandro Narducci Prize.

Following the success of the 1st edition of the prize which took place in Rome, the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary and the IPSEEOA Institute „Tor Carbone” decided to replicate this format for the italian community in Hungary, organizing a competition that will be held annually in Budapest- Hungary.

The goal of this unitiative is to promote Made-in-Italy and the Italian Know How, furthermore the synergy with italian hospitality and the training of future generations of chefs.

The rules and the principles behind the prize are coherent with the personality and the chef values represented by Alessandro Narducci.

The prize will be organized in two competitions, for 2 different groups of participants … the chefs and the cooks of the italian restaurant in Hungary with the students of the local cooking schools.

The aim of the competition is to reward both professional cooks and those who are in the beginning of their cooking career. The competitions and the award ceremonies of the Hungarian edition of the prize will take place in November, 2020, as the 5th Week of Italian Crusine will take place.

The competitions and the award ceremonies of the international edition of prizes will take place in the month of May, 2021 in Rome – Italy.

The participants of the 1st edition of the „International Alessandro Narducci prize” will compete in the gastronomic category and other more categories pre-added in the awards, such as: patissere, reception and mise en place.

The jury will be made up of representatives of „ Sistema Italia” of food journalists and of the Hungarian Confederation of Cooks and Hoteliers.

The prize for the winners will be:

A Plaque … A trip to Rome to join the International competition in May, 2021 … A voucher to purchase italian products and a prize kindly offered by Sambuca Molinanri.

World Italian Gastronomy Week @ Budapest 2019

The Italian Embassy in Budapest with the Italian Cultural Institute, with the Italian Institute for Trade Development (ICE Budapest), the Italian Tourism Office (ENIT), the Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Academy of Cuisine (Accademia Italiana della Cucina) in conjunction with a series of events focus on Italian cuisine, history of Italian regions, trends in Italian cuisine and Mediterranean diet are organizing the  4th occasion,  the annual series of events  between November, 18 –  24 … “World Italian Gastronomy Week @ Budapest 2019.

The main theme this year: “Conscious nutrition, taste culture”.

Budapest is becoming  “A Little Italy”!  … Be Italian in Budapest …

True … that Budapest does not belong to one of the cities of the Mediterranean area, never-the-less welcomes everyone with seductive flavors and the feeling of genuine Italian.

Especially during the worldwide festival you can feel the mood of the Dolce Vita – “Sweet Life”, a little Italian in themselves. Autumn is the harvest season. It could not be more celebrated than with a true Italian top wine. The Italian Food and Wine fit together well with each other!  Delicious food with perfect and fresh ingredients really touch the taste buds. Also … without an Italian dessert, would be  unthinkable … right? … So go for it gourment don’t give up!

In Hungary, Italian food products are increasingly popular, and the customers  buy more and more Italian wines. You don’t have to have the year of pizza in Hungary because there are several restaurants and street pizzerias available to get a pizza on your busy day. A series of events organized within the framework of more than 110 international diplomatic centers and Italian cultural institutions with almost 4500 programs are implemented worldwide.

Joining for the 3rd time to the Italian Cuisine world week in Budapest  with more than 130 countries to celebrate Italian Cuisine Week. the initiative will explore the popularity of Italian food, wine, groceries, restaurants all prepared as evidence of the “Made in Italy” brand’s which has been international successful.

At the Embassy of Italy Budapest hosted media representatives to announce the details to the forthcoming series of events regarding to the  A Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.  

Over the centuries, Italy’s universally beloved products have become ambassadors for Italian excellence. For each, all-natural ingredients are incorporated into age-old recipes still followed by generations of artisans across Italy’s 20 regions. Thanks to this passion for tradition and quality, Italy is known across the globe in over a 100 countries for its specialties.

This event includes more than 1000 initiatives and includes over 300 offices between diplomatic and consular offices. The Embassy of Italy Budapest together with Italian Cultural Institutes, also with the involvement of the Italian Institute for Trade Promotion (ICE Budapest), the Italian Tourism Office (ENIT) and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Academy of Kitchen to promote top quality Italian cuisine.  The rich program of the events includes thematic menus, gala dinners, seminars  (the story of Italian wine ), food and wine tastings as well as film screening illustrating how Italian food has become part of the history in cinema.

The Italian culinary is art and the Mediterranean diet is just one of the elements that make Italy the most healthiest country in the world.

The backbone of this third edition is promoting Mediterranean Diet and its ingredients …
discussion on healthy diet and/to preventive medicine, with
healthy recipes, quick and easy to make with products available on the local stores will be published on the Embassy website (www.ambbudapest.esteri.it).

The promotion with the “Pasta Pesto Day” initiative, which as a result of the Morandi Bridge tragedy promotes the most typical recipe in the restaurant all over the world, where a portion of the proceeds will go to the Municipality of Genoa .

In addition to enjoying food, the wine takes place on the table and with it the Italian life style comes alive.  There is an Italian saying “By the set table, one does not grow old”. At the event  jointly organized with the Budapest’s ICE Agency curated  Barbara Tamburini, the internationally renowned expert, qualitative growth of Italian vineyards will talk about the 20 regions of 10 vinyards in Italy. The wine-show will be represented by Erzsébet Sala.

November, 19. 2018 – 6.30 p.m. 

Life and Literature “Recitar Eating” – “Recitar mangiando” Italian Culture Institution – Giuseppe Verdi Hall. Theatrical  presentation about the Art of Cooking by three actresses Maria Teresa Ruta, Guenda Goria and Silvia Siravo tell through the various authors of the world in literature, the meaning of food in life, traveling through history, philosophy, psychology, music and poetry.

“An American in Rome” – director Vincenti Minelli –  Italian Culture Institution – Cinema Hall.  Alberto Sordi in the role of Nando Moricone – “Maccarone, you provoked me and I destroy you now, maccarone!

November, 21. 2018 – 7 p.m. ENIT – Gala Dinner – Italian Culture Institution – Giuseppe Verdi Hall. Evening dedicated to Italian and Hungarian tour operators with a dinner focusing on the Mediterranean Diet. ENIT 2019 Activity Program.

November, 22. 2018. – 11.30 a.m. – 1 p.m. “Tradition and Quality” – Hotel Marriott – Budapest

Conference … Traveling around 20 provinces with 10 vineyard regions, introducing the Italian wines.

November, 22. 2018 . 5.30 p.m. Apericena Tasting of typical products of Puglia . During the  evening you can taste a selection of local products from Puglia as the base of the Mediterranean Diet. 

November, 19th – 25th 2018.  Seven-day adventure to the Mediterranean Diet … The Participating Restaurants line-ups: “Da Nandi ” –  ” Gustolato Restaurant “  – ” I Fiori dell’Orto “  –  “Cantine Le Grotte” and  “Azienda Gino Turco”.

Closing the press conference the H.E. Massimo Rustico – Italy Ambassador to Hungary recalled Hippocrates …“Food is your medicine, and medicine is your food!”

At the end of the press conference, the guests enjoyed the hospitality of the Embassy –  Made in Italy snacks, cakes,  Italian coffee and wine tasting took place.
