The 9th Jewish & Israeli Film Festival – Online Event @ Hungary

This year as well just as in the previous years don’t have to miss the Best of the Jewish and Israeli films @ the 9th ZIFF film festival which will be screened exclusively online by remote cinema system between November, 24 and December, 6. 2020. Within the framework of the festival, the best films of recent years will be “screened” around Hungary throughout 2 weeks.

During this period a broad line-up of the latest movies depicting to-day’s Jewish culture, heritage and lifestyle will be introduced. The Jewish and Israeli Film Festival is the largest event of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. Within the year’s program will features a fresh selection of recent pictures from the Germany, United States, Russia, Norway, France, Israel, Austria and Hungary.

The online streeningss will be accessible on computers, tablets and mobile phones. All the movies in original languages with Hungarian subtitles.

The organiser of the Film Festival is the JCC Budapest – Bálint House. The main sponsors of the event are the Hungarian Jewish Social Assistance Foundation, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), the Thalheimer family and both Embassies in Hungary, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the State of Israel.

In brief mentioning two films as highlights during the festival. Opening film “Resistance” on November 24. 8 p.m. and further dates: November, 28. 8 p.m., November, 29 3.30 p.m., December, 3. 8 p.m. … The true story of Marcel Marceau, the most famous pantomime artist of all time, who, as a novice actor as a member of the French resistance in World War II, rescued thousands of children from certain death with his companions.

Also on screen will be “GOLDA” Meir, a generation of founding fathers and mohers, provides a captivating insight. She was Israel’s first and so far only female prime minister, whose family fled the pogroms into the new world, who became a socialist Zionist in Wisconsin who defended and built Israel for decades. Vaslady was a grandmother and founder of the state. The documentary provides a captivating insight into the life of the “Queen of the Jews”. Screenings: November, 25. 6 p.m. and December, 6., 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased for the dates on the show, allowing ticket buyers to watch the movie at the time the movies are screened. Tickets price 1500HUF.
The process of buying tickets … may find information about movies and screening times in the “MOVIES” or “PROGRAM” menu and can also buy tickets from there. The movies can be viewed online at the specified time(s) – like at a real movie theater. That means with the purchased ticket, unlike streaming services, can watch the selected movie at any time. Tickets can only be purchased online by credit card payment. After the purchase, the ticket will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. Click the big green button in the email to enter the show, from where may proceed to the Lounge 1 hour before the start time. The start of the projection is indicated by a triple gong and can start watching the movie by clicking the flashing black button.

 Exhibition by Giuseppe Vassallo – Italian Culture Institute – Budapest

Giuseppe Vassallo opens an unusual Italian exhibition in Budapest. The young Sicilian artist originally he studied sculpture in his homeland, later attracted more by painting, which he learned in an autodidact manner.

Vassallo spent three weeks in Budapest for the “resident artist” project, inspired by the impressions and experiences gained here in the Italian Cultural Institute.The opening exhibition is divided into two main parts: on the one hand it presents the painter’s paintings in Palermo and on the other hand the paintings and installations of the “resident artist” project. Each of the works made in Budapest is a small tribute to the capital, with familiar moods, symbols, and even Hungarian paintings.

The project was established with the co-operation of the Budapest Várfok Gallery.

Entry is free of charge.

Budapest Bike Maffia (Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)  in cooperation with Cafe Art proudly presents the latest initiative to raise awareness on social problems. This time would like to draw attention to the problem of homelessness through art. The long-term aim of the goal is to raise awareness about the issue of homelessness, to empower people on the edge of the society and help their social reintegration.

The challenge was simple … bought 100 pieces of disposable cameras with the help of FUJIFILM, and asked homeless people to capture Budapest the way they see it. The homeless sector individual’s shooted pictures of how they see Budapest.

Budapest is one in the line inspired to this project just as … MyLondon … MySydney and now happening MyBudapest.

More than 2000 photos were taken from which the best 50 pictures were chosen by a professional jury and this makes up the collection exhibited in Budapest Pont. Based on a public vote the best 12+1 photos will be printed as a calendar – My Budapest – 2017 and the winner artists will receive 20000HUF each and participants will be supported from the income of the sold calendars as well.

The exhibition can be seen between August, 30 until September, 12. 2016.

THREE-DAYS FESTIVAL „HARVEST AND CULTURE ADVENTURES IN LATIN-AMERICA IN BUDAPEST 2014.

Herald News„Harvest and Culture Adventures in Latin America„  and after last year’s success,  here it is again in Budapest and for those interested in Latin-America’s culture, art, lectures, cinema screenings, dance performances, Capoiera presentation, environmental solidarity action, specific Latin American food and drinks to taste, here is the occasion to hang out with family and friends at the Fogasház during the three-days festival beginning on May, 8-10. 2014. The festival is organized by the joint event with the Garden of Chile Wein Import, the Latin American Association and the Fogasház.

Huge support to the event was given by the following Embassies in Hungary: Chile, Ecuador, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela, and this year for the first time the Argentine joined the line.

During the three-days will be presented Tedeschit Marcos young Brazilian Painter and Chilean artist Francisco Villarroel creations exhibited in Florence, prior to the Budapest event.

Regarding to food lovers may have a taste of the specific Latin American food and drinks which have many beneficial effects, as the  exotic Brazilian fruit, acai, and taste the not really known by the Hungarians the Açaimania.

The Spanish language is spoken by millions around the world, here at the festival the „Rapid Flow Language School” representatives will be on the spot to give a little insight and knowledge for visitors who wish to have some language or wish to study the Spanish language.

The festival is free to  visit to all the programs.

Thursday, May, 8. 2014. 6 p.m. – Official opening of the Embassy of Chile’s greeting. 6.15 p.m. – Peruvian dance performance. 6.35 p.m.Latin American food and drink tasting … empanadas, guacamole, tortilla chips, the Latin-American embassies delights.  6.50 p.m.Marcos Tedeschit – Brazilian painter and Francisco Villarroel  –Chilean artist. 7.20 p.m. – Awareness-raising activities in the Ecuadorian jungle to protect the indigenous people living there. Brief description of Chevron case, then after can join,  to leave your palm print as to protest against Texaco Chevron in Ecuador serious environmental pollution. This is taking place held 3-times a day. Then an International campaign going on, namely: “Chevron dirty hands”. 7 p.m.-8.30 p.m. – Film Screening with English subtitle: „El hijo de la novia”, Argentina – 2001. 8.30 p.m. – Latin American party.

Friday, May, 9.7.15 p.m. – Presentation of the Argentine Consul Alejandra Butti mate about tea, after the lecture, raffle gifts presented by the Argentine Embassy. 6 p.m. César Urbina, the second secretary of the Embassy of Venezuela in San Francisco, lecture of tradition and the color used for masks, gift raffle draw by the Embassy of Venezuela after the performance of “Dance with the Devil”. 6.30 p.m. Milena Dezerega Pelikan presentation about Chile. 6.50-20-20 p.m. Postcards from Leningrad” – 2007 (Post Musicales de Leningrad, Venezuelian movie with Hungarian subtitles. 8.30 – Salsa Cubana Cuban dance performance.  Saturday, May, 10. 6 p.m. Julio Cesar Cancio Ferrer, lecture by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Hungary. 6.30 p.m. Capoiera Presentation. 6.45 p.m. – Presentation by Kinga Tury titled: “Mexico: Relive and believe” . After the performance lottery offered by the Mexican Embassy. 7.15 p.m. – Spanish lessons to attend on the spot by the Rapid Flow Language School. 7.45 p.m. – Tasting Acai an exotic Brazilian fruit, and its health benefits. A brief description of the effects courtesy of the Açaimania. 7 p.m. -8.30 p.m. – Film Screening: Habanastation  Cuba, 2011 having Hungarian subtitles.

During the three-day photo exhibition also will be available:  Kaszab Zsuzsanna, Latimoport the editor in 2013, introducing her photographs of Cuba.  Story presentation by  photos of Texaco-Chevron on Ecuador pollution. “Hugo Chávez: a multi-polar world heralded”
