Italian Culture Institute – Xenia Gallery
District, VIII., 18. Bródy Sándor Street – Budapest

Giuseppe Vassallo opens an unusual Italian exhibition in Budapest. The young Sicilian artist originally he studied sculpture in his homeland, later attracted more by painting, which he learned in an autodidact manner.

Vassallo spent three weeks in Budapest for the “resident artist” project, inspired by the impressions and experiences gained here in the Italian Cultural Institute. The opening exhibition is divided into two main parts: on the one hand it presents the painter’s paintings in Palermo and on the other hand the paintings and installations of the “resident artist” project. Each of the works made in Budapest is a small tribute to the capital, with familiar moods, symbols, and even Hungarian paintings.

The project was established with the co-operation of the Budapest Várfok Gallery.

Entry is free of charge.
