ANZAC DAY IN HUNGARY – 25th OF APRIL, 2012.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

TRIBUTE AT THE SOLYMÁR’S   “BRITISH CEMETERY”, THE WAR MEMORIAL ON ANZAC DAY TO THE FALLEN HEROES OF THE WORLD WAR II.

This early morning hours of April 25,  was with a company on an organized bus  by the Australian Embassy in Budapest to participate in the Solymár at the “British Cemetery”, the War Memorial commemorating the ANZAC Day. The ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand is a Public Holiday in memorial to all the  dead troops who landed off the coast of Gallipoli/Turkey in 1915.  ANZAC  stands for Australian and New Zealand  Army Corp. The men who served on the Gallipoli Peninsula created a legend, adding the word ANZAC to their vocabulary and creating the notion of the ANZAC spirit.

The 1915 issue was raised by Sir Winston Churchill  proposal the First Lord of Admiralty to Entente  the Dardanelles The siege began with troops landing at  the Gallipoli Peninsula  on the 25th of April, 1915  In January, 1916 the operation ended unsuccessfully, as the Allied troops pulled out easily, the defending Turkish army successfully defended the strait at Dardanelles. Gallipoli is actually a failed battle and lead to enter in history to the First World War. It was then the Australians and New Zealanders first deployment of an independent military force, which was lost, but once stood, and this is the background of the memorial service.  The lost and casualties were 25,000 Australians, including 8,700 army personals who were killed or died of wound diseases. On this day we also honor the returned women and servicemen.

The British Cemetery, the War Memorial at Solymár is surrounded with a concrete fence.  At the center stands a tall stone cross. It was given as a gift of the British Empire, War Graves Commission  to the Hungary Gov.

The Officiating Ministers were, Reverend Canon Mr. Denis Moss and the service started by the reading of the Bidding by Reverend,  Mr. Frank Hegedűs “We shall also pray for the  world they dies to serve that goodwill, trust and peace may supplant hatred, fear and conflict, so that the fruits of the lives they gave in death may not be wasted or lost” .

The Australian Ambassador, HE Mr. John Griffin said the prayer of Remembrance … ” To-day we remember with thanksgiving those who made the supreme sacrifice for us in the time of war. We pray that the offering in their lives may not have been in vain. To-day we dedicate ourselves to the cause of justice, freedom and peace and for wisdom and strength to build a better world!”

From the Australian Embassy: Mr. Adam McKay recited  “The Ode”  from Laurence Binyon: “For the Fallen”: “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun And in the morning. We will remember them.”

The Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, HE Mr. Hasan Kemai Gür‚ recalled the words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: “Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives; You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.”

Thereafter, the commemoration continued with the  trumpeter sounds and after two minutes of silence. The  presence of   Australia,  New Zealand, Hungary (Ministry of Foreign Affairs  Hungary) and (Ministry of Defence),  Turkey,  Pakistan,  United Kingdom,  France,  South Africa, Canada diplomatic missions whom laid their wreath. The Aussie community temporary staying in Hungary and the  former Aussies laid their rosemary leafs and flowers in front of the graves at the Australian  “heroes”.

At the end of the Ceremony, the Australian Ambassador  invited the HE’s and the others who attended at the Service to his residence for a “cuppa-of-tea” and a taste of Australia’s original Aussie pie.

It is always a sad day when it comes to a commemorational  day,  but a very pleasant one of gathering and proof of mateships.

HALF PRICE FOR THE LOYAL VISITORS TO THE 20TH JUBILEE “SZIGET” ISLAND FESTIVAL

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU WANT TO BE BETWEEN AUGUST, 6 – 13. 2012?

COULD IT BE AT THE  “SZIGET”  FESTIVAL – ON THE ÓBUDAI ISLAND

BUDAPEST – HUNGARY

In the late morning hours the Mr. Károly Gerendai, founder and organizer of the SZIGET =  ISLAND Festival held a joint press conference with the representatives of the OTP Bank and the Pay Pal, by saying his first words: “We would like to have more people together in celebrating our jubilee festival! On this unquie occasion we would also like to hand over a little present to our loyal visitors

In the year 2012 the Sziget festival will be celebrating its 20th Jubilee!

So far the “SZIGET” Festival have had five million visitors.

Throughout the years the word “Sziget Festival” has traveled many kilometers/miles away, made deep imprints in those who have atended and love being out in the nature watching/listening to grand music from local and well know foreigner solo artists, groups and bands. The gig has reached its reputation beyond the shores over the ocean as well. Therefore, all kind of music in style, bands, groups musicans from many parts of the World have had also been here at this annual gathering enjoying the “partytime” and the camping style under the moonlight.

By all means it is most probably the greatest gathering in the mainland of Europe. Each year during the festival time you can hardly hear Hungarian speaking folks around you. Enormous crowd pulling their rolling trollies or carry the heavy load and investigating their maps of the whereabouts to spot and reach the huge land of  joy and entertainment at the “Sziget” Festival.

This year the organizers wish to make a special treat for the those visitors who year-by-year had an appointment to be here, out at the SZIGET Festival.

Even though many don’t have any plans to where they would travel the next year, but those individuals that have at least once join this superb environment of music shows will surely tick the date in their calander to be present at the forthcoming  “SZIGET” offering superb music for the ear  and a fine place to be! Join your mates and come along.

The press gethering main announcement was the significant discounts to take place this years.” What’s it all about? Now hold on and listen, you can buy season tickets at half price. How!?! Anybody who in some way or another at least three different years participated and can proof of their stay during the past nineteen years. Simple as that! How could you do that? Here’s a website where you can place your concrete memories. It can be your saved “Sziget” wrist-straps(even if it is worn out, the only thing that matters is to be readable: the day of your participation or year, even a certain story that happend in that year you were present or heard from one of the stage performers or a snap of you along with a typical background from that certain year or together with friends talking with guest musician or artist, also a video that shows your previous presence. Anything that could prove you left your footprints at the grand Sziget Festival would do!

For those who throughout the 19 years visited all the SZIGET Festival can receive a free entry card from the main organizer. Naturally, here the same goes: have to have the proof.

The SZIGET Festival card can be purchased through the 2nd of May till 15th of July, 2012.

There will be a team identifying these posted “collections” items and soforth.

Now this sounds good enough … of course it does. Now here is how it can be reached:

Less than in four months and the City of Budapest will be full of company with young adults just like in the old days at Woodstock At least two main difference between these marvelous gigs! In the first place, the scene. Yepp, happening in Europe. Where in Europe … in Hungary, the Capital City: Budapest. Secondly, the SZIGET FESTIVAL, this year has reached it’s 20th jubilee. Now take that as a great lifeline for success!

Mr. András Gerendai also added: “We have hugh hopes that the system we developed will cut-out the unauthorized ticket-dealers. How to go on: The first step is to receive a confirmation from the blog site (of the excepted items), thenafter comes the request of the MasterCard PayPass or Maestro card, afterwards comes the promotional code, your own personalized cards and with all that in line the visitor will receive on the spot his/her own wristbands by the entry admittance person”.

The main organizer pointed out that the market welcomed the introduction of electronic payment, it is much easier instead of counting coins, so it was decided to extend the co-operation between Gerendai and the PayPass. “As a tradition to the previous years, the 50% discount tickets will be availabe for students, the purchase of per-minute mobile phone and every day an entry tickets after 11 p.m.” said the festival’s managing director Mr. Gerendai.

„Those who may have bought their full price tickets in advance, and later submitted to the 50 percent discount ’have to show the proof’, then get the code, the card,  and the ticket price will be refunded by the difference of course” added Mr. Károly Gerendai. This year „the grand prize” free of charge to get into the festival, who in some way can prove that they were Island visitors throughout the 19 years. Mr. Gerendai mentioned: “throughout the 19 years there had been organizers and musicians at the Sziget Festival, but they may be just within a few hundred. The question will be how many of them can prove it.”

Mr. András Hemberger, regional business manager of MasterCard Europe, said the goal is no secret. The intention is to target more and more people to try the PayPass contactless technique. In the States in it a daily common procedure. The PayPass runs the summer festivals coming directly from bank accounts associated with amount on the card, so you do not need to upload it at the events terminals.

At the press conference Mr. Antal Kovács, Deputy CEO, representing the OTP Bank/Hungary said the following: „The OTP bank has the background already and up to the issue of the PayPass card to be in use at the Sziget Festival. The festival card (just like at some other banks) valid for one year and free of charge in the first running year. The Festival card just like an ordinary bank card can be in use outside of the festival area, doing some shopping in the city.” He also mentioned: „The OTP Bank seeks to target the needs of the young adults at the festival.”

Mr. Gerendai announced: “This year the OTP bank will be the main sponsor of the „Sziget”  Festival.” At the moment they didn’t speak about the exact figures. But according to some of the previous years supporters, a few had died out, therefore the OTP Bank’s entry into the sphere of Sponsors just came in time. Last but not least Mr. Gerendai advised all who have interest to be our visitors at the “Sziget” Festival to click on to this blog site: www.mienkasziget.hu

CELEBRATING THE WORLD CIRCUS DAY IN BUDAPEST – CIRCUS IS A PERFORMING ART!

MANY MAY AND MANY MAY NOT CONSIDER CIRCUS AS A PERFORMING ART… BUT IT IS!

NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE, IT BRINGS INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT UP TO YOUR “DOORSTEP”

AT THE CLASSICAL CIRCUS, WE GREET ALL THE ARTISTS LIKE OLD FAMILY MEMBERS. NO MATTER FROM WHERE THE ARTIST ARRIVE THERE AIN’T ANY POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS. THE CIRCUS FLOOR IS OPEN FOR EVERYONE!!!

To-day throughout the World the “Circus” is holding its 3rd Birthday.

Just like in the previous years, the  Hungarian Circus and Variety Ltd. (MACIVA)  located in Budapest moves outdoor at a previously set-up platform at the main entrance of the circus and takes you on a ride to their circus party.

10 a.m. till 6 p.m.

Just like being at a  party, this one is also free of charge. During the day the many highlights will be at the show: the Hungarian Circus Institute and the popular Rippel Brothers acrobats . Also the awesome Saabel Family and the Rastelli clowns won’t be missed to see.  These two superb groups are also participating at the regular circus shows out now till the end of August, 2012.

The Hungarian Circus and Variety Ltd. (MACIVA) – Budapest, wished to continue the tradition as to celebrate the World Circus  Day with a little present to their audience  by giving 50% discount ticket price to the to-day’s show. The house will probably be  full of  “children” of all age.

The  Worlds Circus Birthday is considered to be every year at the 3rd week’s Saturday of April … so come rain, come shine nothing can interfere. Folks can throw a party, go to the circus, “act like clowns” a bit rolling back to their own childhood times.

The magic of the circus atmosphere surely has and will be always be taking you off your feet. Those breathtaking performances stay within you your soul even when your young and young adult age leaves you.

The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque was founded in 2008 under the patronage of  H.S.H. Princess Stephanie of Monaco and its HQ’s is located in Monte-Carlo. The Federation is a non-profit organization. Their task is to serve and represent the Circus interests worldwide on its  level of the international culture.

HAPPY CIRCUS DAY!

Haven’t payed a visit, only overheard one of the recommended hotel to stay whilst the Zsolnay Festival is on: www.corsohotel.hu

Just a wink back to some historical facts of the Zsolnay brand and tradition.

The Zsolnay brand name has more than 150 years of tradition. It always had the sence of uniqueness of the artistic value and the symbol of constant renewal. During the historical times, the name Zsolnay didn’t sound unfamiliar All the technological solutions both the artistic design were pioneered in the arts-of-arts. Just to mention famous artists who participated in the work of the factory were: Mr. Rippl-Ronai, Mr.Ferenc Martyn, Mr. Victor Vasarely, Mr Ödön Lechner. Mr. Miklós Zsolnay, the founder was a merchant. First steps to start-up his factory was with the application in the middle of 1852. During the decades Mr. Vilmos Zsolnay, the name has become a concept. Excellent ability persistent experimentation, innovative initiatives were accompanied. He was a great merchant, industrialist, inventor, craftsman, artist and factory owners.

After long years the burial site of Mr. Vilmos Zsolnay, the founder of the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufacture, the doors are open once again for the public.

The participation at World Fairs was always important step to innovative decorative artists. No surprising that Zsolnay did well in Vienna 1873, the French Order of the Legion of Honor twice, at the 1878 World’s Fair in Paris and again in 1900, Melbourne 1880 attest to the universal recognition of Zsolnay’s excellence. The came Brussels 1888, Chicago 1893 and Antwerp in 1894. That iridescent sheen was superb then and is still superb now.

Pécs is one of the largest City’s after the Capital. The only area in Hungary where the land is graced with the Mediterranean climate. Has history patterns of 2000 years old, ancient Roman burial vaults that proves it was well appreciated settlement for even the Romans. Huge student life animates throughout the city. No surprise when you hear Hungary’s first university was founded here way back in time in 1367.)

In 1914, the factory was the largest company in Austro-Hungary. The WWI. and WWII.crippled the company’s productivity and also in 1948, under Communism, the company was nationalized and remained this way until 1982. In the last decade, before the millennium, the company has regained its name. Since then working on to build back its legendary fame.)

I am aware I am giving my study tour of the First Zsolnay Festival, but may I just add some of the sophisticated highlights of buildings beside those at Pécs, in Budapest and Szeged that left the hand marks of the great Zsolnay generation. Here are some places that may catch those eyes who first visit Budapest then travel over to Pécs to see more awesome arts.

May have to go back in time a bit by mentioning the discovery of eosin and pyrogranite that the composition the formation of the Zsolnay’s type of ceramic. By the means of fired under a high temperature pyrogranite become acid and frost-resistant. This made it attractive to the architects and designers who were looking for a durable material to use as outdoor decorations. So in Budapest can be seen many Hungarian art nouveau architect. Mr. Ödön Lechner who used Zsolnay on all his buildings. In Budapest alone there are over 150 sites which can be seen or basically were originally constructed by the use of Zsolnay ceramics. Best known are the Museum of Applied Arts, the National Geological Institute, the National Archives, Matthias Church, the Central Market Hall, the Technical University, the Elephant House at Budapest’s Zoo, some parts of the interiors at the Hotel Gellért and its Baths, the Liszt Academy of Music, the chocolate-brown cream revetment of the interiors of Europe’s first Underground stations Stations. The wheels roll from downtown to the Hereo Square and further on. One of his magnificent landmarks are assembled upon the exteriors and interiors at the Synagogue in the City Szekszárd.

O.K. Back to Pécs, but there is so many beauties that a lies around Hungary,  just had to stop for a minute and mention a few.

In the coming days roll over to the City Pécs that is dressed for your successful visit at the First Zsolnay Festival. It would be a waiste of time not to visit beside the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter the Kodály Center. So reserve and enjoy a grand concert at the wonderful acoustic hall of the Kodály Center, because now is the best time kill two birds with one stone … O.K. theoretically … go for the City of Pécs you will be a winner.

It is a Family Friendly place and as the Director Mr. István Márta
said: “Our main intention is to target the children and the young adults, cause they are our next generation to keep, carry on the legend with the candle light on.”

The Zsolnay Cultural Quarter is full of wealth of cultural treasures, an easy going place in the coming days for: public events, music of wide scale within pop music, concerts and arts festivals, coffee shops, restaurants, and always a handy place for visitors at the visitor center.

The Zsolnay Festival welcomes visitors from all parts of the World to roll along a paths and the Zsolnay facades, that ain’t seen anywhere else around the World.

Allow all your sence to enjoy and take part in a journey way back in time to this unique environment the City Pécs offers you!

ACOUSTIC FURNITURE SUPRISINGLY NEW ITEMS ON THE HUNGARIAN PALETTE

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

THE SPEAKERS IN THEIR NEW  DRESSES!

Mr. Béla Bizsók Vajk, the Dreamer of the Audible Furniture, Ms. Erzsébet Ács, the Decorators National President of the Association, Ms Réka Somogyi, silk painter Artist, and Dr. Antal Karolyi, Manager of the Acoustic Furniture Manufactory, welcomed  the invited representatives of the press and media  to  a breakfast with the press connected  to the press conference.

The press gathering was at the  “Open-Workshop” (Nyitott Mühely),  XIIth District,  4.  Ráth  György Str., just a couple of steps from the Southern Railway Station.

Home design of objects ain’t an easy task when comes to keep in mind to seek for harmony. Have to vision the task with special care, because there is a wide range of items that has to be taken into consideration i.e. to choose a sofa, the carpet, the lights or chairs.

There is a philosophy behind the each-and-every products!

Dr. Antal Karolyi, Manager of the Acoustic Furniture Manufactory talked about the difficulty of their situation, whereas the quality for good speakers and let alone the certain color, form, material fits into the modern or a classic style apartment.

“Primary, our personal interest is to take into consideration that the given space is connected with style and tailored to the individual tastes, said Mr. Béla Bizsók Vajk , the managing director of the manufactory. Dreamer, yes, it was in his early teenager years when he started to get interested in taking apart objects to see what else, how can they be use in another function.  He was also very much in favor of the modern “musicland” of his age and  step-by-step began to think of the ways and work on how these items could be implementing  as speakers. “The main effort is to equally pay attention to the excellent sound quality, so each speaker one-by-one are weighed in acoustically to music to reach, to give the desired real pleasure for the ears and also for the sight. We are proud that all our hand-made products are unique”, added Mr. Béla Bizsók Vajk.

Ms. Erzsébet Ács, the Decorators National President of the Association, was pleased to inform of the recently opened a coffee-house where the music is coming out from the framed acoustic furnitures hanged on the walls.

Ms Réka Somogyi, silk painter Artists said, she is also dreaming and  looking forwards to receive request to do silk paintings on much larger materials, where she can  allow her fantasy to fly high away.

The company’s philosophy is, that an interior furnished with a selection of speakers is as important and needs the same attention as to the other home furnishing items. The speciality of the acoustic furniture lies in the combination of “fancy” shapes, in colors and the intention of the materials to be use and specifically, the philosophy behind the products. The grand team of the Acoustic Manufacture supports individuals ideas by arranging coffee shops, restaurants, hotels and other business premises where the 21st century’s designs fill the gaps or should I say often simply obstacles surround us. These acoustic furniture brings “a brand new day”  a fresh breath in our own environment.

The company is it’s own developer, designer and manufacturer of acoustic furniture. The acoustic furniture in every case is a unique project, custom designed, hand-made and the end-product is the  high quality speakers. Takes into consideration: the color, the form and always insert the given material in the certain space. To reach the furniture’s excellent acoustic sound, all products of the manufactory’s team are one-by-one controlled acoustically. The manufacture has a wide scale of sophisticated background professional artists and craftsmen involved in each projects.

Ms. Réka Somogyi, silk painter is one of the artist at the manufactory. To-day a collection of  her framed silk art speakers adorned the walls  and the object standing on the floor at the press conference.

The name “stylish furniture” comes from the speakers built into furniture and fits into the environment with or by the other furniture in a certain space.

More to it, there are a couple of acoustic furnitures, that could be in use as a furniture itself  by functioning of seating, lamps or as a butler welcoming you into the room. These items can be adjusted as to play music. The images on the surface of the speakers can be easily replaced with your favorite snaps on the front wall speaker with another image.

Their next exhibition will be this evening at the HUNGEXPO, where the Acoustic Furniture Manufactor will show up in the coming four days at the:

“Construma” – The 31st. International Building Exhibition.

 April 18 till 22. 2012.

BREAKFAST, LUNCH, SUPPER AT THE NEWLY OPENED BODROGI RESTAURANT

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Recently the pretty little family owned restaurant under the family name: Bodrogi opened its doors.

In the near past days, Mr. Gyula Bodrogi awaited and welcomed with a huge feast their invited friends, local celebrities, actors, singers, journalist, media and press representatives and businessmen from many parts of Hungary to be present at his son’s newly opened restaurant.

His opening words were:” I am more nervous  now than before getting up on stage”. He also said: “Seeing the wide range of offers, I am surely going to come everyday to taste each-and-every one of these written on the blackboard”.

Mr. Ádám Bodrogi, the owner of the restaurant did not follow nor Mr. Gyula Bodrogi, his father, neither Ms. Voith Ági, his mother’s footsteps who both are well-known actor and actress here in Hungary and abroad. On the boards of the stage they both have  had given and  still give so much pleasure hours with their unforgettable performances in theaters and film productions.

Adam’s father, Mr. Gyula Bodrogi has been recognized as the nation’s actor.

Ádám, did not fall so far from the tree after choosing to turn his dream come true and launched in the catering industry. In a way, the newly opened Bodrogi Café and Restaurant  is from now on Ádám’s stage, whereas day-by-day he has to please in tastes his “audience”, guests.

The Bodrogi cafe and restaurant is opened for the real gourmands. They offer their guests a wide range of home-made flavors cooked from their 150 year’s old family recipes. You bet, they are absolutely cooked and taste as you have lifted off your kitchen’s fire place or the oven. Furthermore, they bake on the spot their own home-baked bread.

Ádám gave a real tribute with a range of food that were not just amazing in looks and delicate scented dishes as to give a hint to the invited guests of what to expect from the local kitchen. Upon the decorative white tablecloths laid table, delicious wild garlic soup, a’la Grandma’s style stuffed cabbage, Hungarian beef stew, amazingly tasty oven cooked pasta with salty cottage cheese and bacon . If there would have had been a rating of the gold medal dish I would have gone out to the “yummy of day awarded”, the golden dumplings with the heavenly vanilla sauce.

This place surely has its relaxing atmosphere, enjoying the good food while you’re talking with your company.  Pretty neet place to spend a whole day meeting. They serve excellent tea and coffee, also can’t beat the great selection of marvelous  Hungarian wines and of course the Hungarian Pálinka could not be missing from the  list of beverages.

Now, if this herald news caught your attention, then roll over to reach your own experiences, it won’t be a disappointment I assure you!

On this evening’s program, the Hungarian National Philharmonic (http://www.filharmonikusok.hu/english) : Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet (suite, op. 64)

and

Brahms-Schönberg: Piano Quartet in G-minor, Arnold Scheonberg’s  transciption for orchestra.

Mr. Mattias Barnert, Swiss conductor will be leading the Hungarian National Philharmonic.

In the first part of the concert, Prokofiev’s suite will be performed in a version never heard before in Hungary.

The second half features classical music, but again not in its original form.

The Piano Quartet – orchestra transcription

(“ Johannes Brahms was one of Arnold Schoenberg’s main examples. He dedicated several writings to the composer, taught his students the elderly maestro’s compositional techniques and in 1937 he transcribed for symphony orchestra Brahms’s G-minor Piano Quartet (1861). When asked, just before the premiere, why he had chosen this particular work and what he had in mind when transcribing it, he replied, ‘My reasons: 1. I like this piece. 2. It is seldom played. 3. It is always very badly played, because the better the pianist, the louder he plays and you hear nothing from the strings. I wanted once to hear everything, and this I achieved. My intentions: 1. To remain strictly in the style of Brahms and not to go father than he himself would have gone if he lived today. 2. To watch carefully all these laws which Brahms obeyed […].’ Schoenberg changed nothing in the music of the great German master, and the performance apparatus roughly corresponds to a Brahmsian orchestra. The translucent orchestration allows for every part and every small detail to be heard, and consequently the sonority is perplexingly evocative of Brahms’s symphonies. The listener experiences a curious illusion of hearing a symphony where there is in fact no symphony, as if he or she were hearing Brahms, but it is in fact not Brahms, since there is no real passage between the different musical eras. If Brahms had wanted to compose a symphony, obviously he would have conceived a completely different work in terms of music and form. The transcription is no more and no less than what the composer intended: a compositional bravura and a curiosity to the audiences of today.

Mr. Matthias Bamert

Matthias Bamert studied music in his native Switzerland, as well as in Darmstadt and Paris, falling in with the likes of Boulez and Stockhausen; these associations can be well detected in his own compositions. He assisted Stokowski at the American Symphony Orchestra in 1970 and 1971, then joined the Cleveland Orchestra’s conducting staff under the leadership of  Music Director Lorin Maazel. Later on he was Music Director of the Swiss Radio Orchestra, then began making a wider reputation across Europe. He was principal guest conductor of the Scottish National Orchestra and Associate Guest Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. Bamert served as Artistic Director of the Lucerne Festival (1992 -1998), where he made inroads in thematic programming and of the London Mozart Players (1993 – 2000). A prolific recording artist, Bamert has made over 80 discs, many of which have won international prizes.”)
