Just two days left before the “locks fall off” the gates.

The “Jokai”  theater from the City of Békéscsaba presence at the “SZIGET FESTIVAL”at the circus ring theater tent.

MAN OF LA MANCHA

A Music and Drama in a slightly different way!

In brief … a musical concerning hope, faith and never giving up under the time of communism!

The Broadway hit musical puts Cervantes’ novel into an inquisition prison, whereas it is adapted into a circus tent by Director Péter Fekete in 2012.

Why is a great black POBEDA, i.e. the great dreadful car of communism in the middle of the tent? Who are the people driven behind the barbed wire and sitting on their suitcases waiting for? Relocation? Holocaust? Concentration camp? People are waiting with empty looks, they are uncertain and have lost everything. They are distrustful toward the external world and to one another as well! Then somebody comes who tells tales, fights like Don Quixote, plays and gives hope. And also gives faith in the power of community and never giving up.
It is a unique theatre performance, a real team work: acrobats, musicians, artists, dancers are on the same stage, circus and theatre spaces give a combination of reality and dream. Monumental pictures that burn into memory, live music: a bunch of miracles.
It is a musical in a different way, without political hints but with a powerful thought message, and spectacular scenes never seen before.

BUDAPEST HOSTING THE CATALAN CULTURE ORGANIZATION THIS WEEK-END – AUGUST, 3-4-5, 2012

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

With the arrival of the Catalan Cultural Organization Aplec Internacional to Budapest it is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary. A fiesta for three-days with  traditional Catalan  attractions mainly at the

5th District in-and-around the  Liberty Square – Budapest.

The main purpose for the Catalan Aplec Internacional community is to spread and promote in every sence at international level the Catalan culture.

The festival is open for all those who are interested in other country’s culture and also wish to spend a fabulous week-end out in the surroundings of Budapest.

The Festival to visitors is  free of charge.

The invitation went out from the Metropolitan Municipality and is organized by the Budapest Festival Center. This is the first time that the  world-renowned cultural organization visit Budapest – Hungary.  One of their main program is an act by  the Minyons de Terrassa, humans forming a tower. Within their three-day stay there will be the giant dancing figures, catalan joy and sorrow folk dancing and much more to see. A couple of minutes before 6p.m. a concert will take place the and the  Catalan folk dance group El Grupo, the music will be given by the  Catalan folk band, the  Bisbal Jove and the Budapest Operetta Theater Orchestra and Choir joint concert

Now the time has come for the Catalan Aplec Internacional community to bring their essence to Budapest.
One of the highlights of  the day was the performance of the  Barrera de danses,  Catalan and Hungarian folk dancers, presentation of the popular catalana universal i viva showing the Catalan folk traditions and the Human Towers Builders, the  Força, equilibri, valor i seny, showing strength, balance, courage and intellect and much more to see and hear.
At this point no need to say anymore, just go to the sideshow and see what you will be missing if not to go and see them with your own two eyes. The snaps speak for themselves!
On Saturday, a music parade will begin at and from the Ádam Clark Square ( District, I. on the Buda-side at the Chain Bridge)  all along to the Freedom Square.
As reaching the close to the evening performances  on Sunday, at  the  final cord will be Air acrobats, devil figurines
fire-breathing dragons and a grand gathering, which cannot be missed. Most probably during these three days many can see much more of the Catalan rich heritage culture than if they would get on a plane and stay at Catalan for a week or so.
Almost miss to mention … a festival cannot be also arranged without a load of food to ease the hunger. Traditional Catalan and Hungarian food is offered on the spot.

Not many individuals can say they haven’t heard a word about the Blues Brothers!

Out on the Margaret Island Open-Air Theater the world-famous songs from The Blues Brothers known from the film came out  just 25 years ago …  can you believe it!?! Also many parts of the world the curtains went up the local countries produced another pair of  The Blues Brothers.  Now Joliet Jake and Edwood Blues are coming to entertain the guests arriving to see and hear a spectacular musical by the Hungarian two great actors:  slipping into the skins of the Blues Brothers.

Need not have to look around the World famous Blues Brothers and their catchy melodious amazing tracks are here for the first time in Hungary and in Hungarian language.

Thanks to the Hungarian Blues Brothers, for bringing back the good old days. Those were the days  when the dark sunglasses  were top moody and were worn day-and-night, in fact some were already born with them!

A promise was made to be the most spectacular outdoor musical live show of this summer. The two musical actors were previously on stage together in several plays, just mention one fabulous show they performed together in Jesus Christ – Superstar. This time they both show another side of their acting. They said they are convinced the audience will be singing along with them the famous hits and surely will be tapping  their foot to the  rhythm and blues.

Just like in the original BB’s talky acts, Mr. Atilla Serbán tells his own story about the love for the BB ever since he was a little kid. He loved so much Jake’s character that he chose his sign to be  at the kindergarten the picture of the BB. (Here in Hungary all kids at the kindergarten have kinda sticker on their apron or dress as their preferred favorite animal, object, whatsoever). It is hard to unbelieve Mr. Pál Feke ain’t the real Edwood, he really slipped under the  skin his  of  character.

The evening’s  guest  star  –  Ms. Vera Tóth in the roll of  Ms. Aretha Franklin.

Two shots of this production here in Budapest, which made history in the land of musicals.

ART OF ICE – ICE BAR – BUDAPEST!

PART2  – ABSOLUTE FINLANDIA VODKA

ABSOLULTE ICE BAR IN BUDAPEST!

PLACE TO BE VISITED!

Address:  District V. – 82 Váci Street Budapest

Open hours: M-F: 12.30 p.m. 11 p.m.

SAT: 4 p.m. – Midnight

What a marvelous way and a grand tip to cool down during the heat wave at the Ice Bar – Budapest. Yes … at the Ice Bar!  Right on the pathway of the downtown area.

Close to midday, Ms. Betty Balássy and Mr. Feri Varga, two “Mega Star” performers arrived together to view with the press representatives the newly formed ice sculptures, by World famous ice sculpture Mr. Zsolt Tóth, at the IceBar in Budapest. Shortly upon their arrival we were all dressed up by a local lady… covered with an almost floor-length hooded warm Pancho and a pair of warm gloves. We were told the temperature inside is about -6C to –8C. Surprize…Surprize!

Thought … aha … what an experience we all are up to … just perfect … entering this cold cave from the outside temperature +36C. Some came dressed in shorts and a T-shirts but didn’t give a damn of the unique Arctic temperature to hit them.

Mr. Dénes Klima, managing director gave instructions for the individuals entering the World of Ice, by saying: „Who feels uncomfortable with the cold inside the cave can come out anytime, don’t have to freeze into ice”.

It seemed like Ms. Betty Balássy and Mr. Feri Varga extremely enjoyed this new experience which can be followed step-by-step viewing the sideshow.

It is not just a simple  tourist attraction. Ain’t no difference whether it rains or shine, it is a grand place to visit.  The owner pf the IceBar told me that once he had a talk with Zsolt about his grand pieces of  ice sculptures and there should be a way to be kept not just live for a week or so during the cold wintertime but also to share these outstanding formations during the summertime as well. So the idea was on the table. They both agreed there will be a place where these outstanding art of ice can be seen for a “lifetime”. So this idea or call it as a dream came true and here we are to-day viewing these awesome Art of Ice!

Needn’t have to say what the ice sculptures show, they are well-recognized. Within the exhibition it shows the beautiful proudly standing „Lánchíd” Chain Bridge, which allows the time to roll by as beneath the rolling stream, floats down the River Danube.

So … Have a seat in a piece of furniture made of ice and enjoy the unique experience of the Arctic world here in Budapest!  The bar serves delicious, naturally ice-cold cocktails, served in ice glasses, even the very glasses you drink from.

I’m sure many often thought about a special and interesting place to visit while being in Budapest, well the a small Ice World in Budapest at the IceBar will ring the bell to remember of your stay as a part of walking by on the pedestrian Váci Street.

It will surely guarantee an unforgettable experience. It worked for me.

The  hearts and souls of  the  fans in Budapest joined to view on a gigantic projector mediated Hungary – Serbia’s water polo match at  the “Akvárium Klub” in Budapest. The  Aquarium club is a place of entertainment – night club – Concert Venue in the center of the City.  Throughout Hungary together as one we all were cheering for the Hungarian multiple Olympic medal winner Water Polo team. Unfortunately, failed to win, because the Serbian water polo group is also an awesome team, and the luck was a little bit on their scale, nevertheless we enjoyed every goal the Hungarian  Water Polo team shot into the net of the Serbian goalkeeper. The Sopron beer, as a sponsor of the water polo team has provided the liquid pleasure and the Aquarium Club served tasty food and cocktails. The service was very neet.  As we learnt from Mr. Gergely Tóth, communication  manager at the Sopron Beer Co., during the Olympics games in London the Hungarian Sopron beer is also available, beside the wide scale of international beers on the spot.

Previously, to the TV coverage of the water polo match, the three winners who played and were drawn at  the Facebook game were present.

Sunday, 29th of July, 8.30 p.m

Budapest Summer Festival.

Novel … Film … Ballet … Musical!

For those who have or haven’t read the novel of Nikos Kazantzakis, the Greek author book published in 1946 or heard of his the famous movie called „Zorba the Greek”, nor haven’t seen the musical with the same title out in ’68 this is a great opportunity to see, the Hungaria ballet adaptation of its kind. Thanks to Mr. Kazantzakis who has created in Zorba one of the great characters of modern fiction and thanks to the organizers of the Budapest Summer Festival all who brought on stage this superb ballet to be seen here in Budapest. Surely one of the grand story from the 20 century.

This time can pump up the gear and arrive to the Margaret Island’s Open-Air Theater on Sunday, 29th of July, 8.30 p.m.  and see by their own two eyes a one-and-half hour of an awesome ballet show and full of entertainment . published in 1946 or heard . The musical with the same title came out in ‘68. The ballet play is upon the novel.

The story goes off with his ventures of the young Greek, as to escape from his bookish life. It is a fictionalized tale of Alexis Zorba’s adventures, yet the imaginary event could have had been possible to have happened sometime, somewhere in Greece.

ABSOLUTE VODKA … ABSOLULTE ICE BAR IN BUDAPEST!

The first to be viewed, the renewed Ice Bar along with the new ice sculptures will be admired in the coming days by Ms. Betty Balássy and Mr. Feri Varga, two “Mega Star” performers.

A little briiihaaa … Yes, at the Ice Bar to cool down in Budapest.

It is not just a simple attraction. It draws attention to locals and especially among travelers who are on the lookout for unusual environments and “B” shaking”  cold experiences.

This Ice Bar in Budapest, is just beyond belief. Most probably is also impressive just like the originate places as in Iceland, Norway and Lapland, where ice is simply a regular guest and ain’t a big deal to have tons of pure, clear ice around you.

On the hot days we are having in Budapest, where else to cool down and enjoy the atmosphere  having a snip of a hot-shot or a cool cocktail in glasses made out of ice as well. How awesome does this sound? The  place is full of ice furnitures and majestic ice sculptures, all is kept at low temperatures to hinder melting.

These numerous ice sculptures are master piece of art  made by Hungarian multiple gold medal World Champion  Ice Sculptor Mr. Zsolt Toth.

This place is a freezy paradise for those people who love cold, and are liter attracted by snow and ice. Guess the Polar Bears, Penguins and of course the Seals would give a thumb-up to this place.

Not to be worried catching a cold … you will be dressed as a “SEAL”  to keep warm during your visit.

Soon to be reopened for visitors!
