GO WEST … ONWARDS … UPWARDS … GO USA

In collaboration with the United States of America Embassy Hungary and Discover America Hungary held with representatives of travel agents, hotels, airlines, shipping companies and journalists in notifying their support, sharing update information for travelers to the USA.

The meeting took place at the residence of Ms. Jennifer Kane – United States Embassy’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Mr. Marc Dillard – Counselor American Embassy – Budapest,  welcomed the gathering and stated with pleasure of seeing significantly the growth of the Hungarian passengers to visit the States compared  within surrounding countries.

Mr. Richard Haris – Deputy Discover America Hungary talked about of the tourist season opening when the travelers are looking for new destinations in having plans instead of going Eastwards … now-a-days … Go West to America as a good option to spend their vacation. He also added, to choose where to spend the next vacation, is almost  impossible when it comes to visit America with a large scale of venues.  Spoke of the options for the Hungarians and other foreigners living in Hungary who already had second thoughts of visiting the states in the coming season. Highlighted, the coming largest US trade show for tourists  which will be held at the end of May and those Hungarian tour operators interested in America are welcome to apply by the end of February, 2020.

Mr. Attila Tóth – Managing Director of AVIAREPS, representative of Condor German airline (founded in 1955) gave a short presentation of flights to four continents in 80 of the world’s most popular leisure destinations. Furthermore, added  many flights to American cities as well. The Condor is based at Frankfurt- Germany and may connect directly to overseas flights from Budapest. The event was sponsored by Condor German Airlines.

It would be pretty long update here to ad why visit the USA with some more information in knowing US is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Anyway, as the time is running ahead and soon the winter is to change to the warmth season, just a doorstep away, worthwhile in planning to hit the road by vehicle, ship or fly high in every sense to a great country with great adventure.  Now-a-days really not too logical in planning to go Eastwards, but rather to Go West as Columbus did!

Major Atlantic Coast cities as New York – a global finance and culture center, the capital – Washington – DC, Midwestern metropolis Chicago known for influential architecture and on the west coast, L.A. – Hollywood famed for film industry.

To make the choice even easier, between February 27. – March 1. 2020 the annual Travel Exhibition will be held at HUNGEXPO Budapest.  Beside the presence of a wide range of international exhibitors, the USA will be back on track after many years of absence at the Budapest’s Travel Exhibition.  On the spot, the exhibitors will give extensive information based on leisure-and-pleasure, destination and soforth.

Veresi Tomato Plantation @ premises of Veresegyháza – Hungary

By invitation took a visit to the 3 acre greenhouse at Veresi Tomato Ltd. The importance of switching to digital precision farming was the main topic for the invited competent speakers.

A few words were told about the coming PREGA Conference and Exhibition on February 18-19. to be held this year. Its main theme is the transition to precision farming that is essential for competitive agriculture. Smaller businesses can also participate. It is in the interest of conversion, as precision farming promises greater crop safety while lowering costs.

Talked about the use of precision farming is “moving forward” in the world. Producers are transforming their economies to take advantage of new technologies, which are growing by 5 to 10 percent a year.

At the tomato plantation, you can get to know the different (by number) sweet tomatoes, see the pollination of the bees, and the working hands as the ripe bunches were collected and prepared in box to ship to the shopping mall.

The Grapes: Brix value is 12, which is similar to grapes. This is a premium tomato specialty with small berries, which is grown only in Hungary. There is no match for freshly picked tomatoes.

There they have an education center as well, where it is possible to get to know the advantages and disadvantages of various cultivation technologies, to spread misunderstandings about greenhouse cultivation technology and to conduct variety experiments based on the climatic conditions of the Carpathian Basin.

Thursday,  February,6, at the Hungexpo held the most outstanding food and HoReCA trade show of the year in 2020, The highlight was for winelovers to attend at an exclusive wine tasting at the METRO – SIRHA booth. The prestigious professional sponsor of the prestigious event was METRO Wholesaler Ltd. Their stand was out at  thousand square meters displaying a variety of food and showcased other items.

In the Hungarian season, they buy most of our produce from domestic producers, while in the winter season and for products where domestic production is not possible, most of our fruit is sourced directly from Spain and Greece. fresh vegetables.

A wide selection of fresh meats from which to choose the most appropriate addition to our country’s high-quality products from many countries out 6 days a week.

The priority for METRO Wholesaler LTD., is to offer an appropriate selection of both wine and champagne for gastronomy, retailers and wine lovers.  Their customers make up the vast majority assortment of Hungarian wines in addition to the known producers. Their main goal is to introduce new, emerging wineries. Here at the SIRHA stand also was an opportunity to introduce wines available mostly at the METRO Ltd.  At the wine tastings from renowned wineries such as Koch Winery or Tamás Günzer Winery welcomed the visitors. Also at the wine tasting, the Paangold and Varga Winery wines were on the spot.  Other renowned Hungarian wineries also held wine tasting: Polgár Winery, Paangold, Varga Winery and Villa Sandi.

The METRO Wholesale Ltd. place great emphasis beside the know producers on giving new emerging wineries the opportunity to introduce themselves.

Beside the  METRO’s own branded White wines  with  Italian and New Zealand flavors, Red wines with Italian and French offerings and French Rosé wines were introduced at the SIRHA stand.

The Spielwarenmesse is well know by those in the international toy markets to come together at the world of toys, renowned brands, industries and game developers be present between January, 29. – February, 2. 2020 at the annual Toy Fair in Nuremberg – Germany.

Likewise this year at the world’s largest  international toys and games exhibition at Spielwarenmesse, featuring world-leading game manufacturers and distributors, revealed that environmental awareness is increasingly appearing in the gaming industry, bringing digital or cinematic figures to life, and classical or application-based board games will continue to grow. At the gigantic Nuremberg Exhibition, the biggest dealers were already choosing products for the next Xmas season.

As the largest children’s toy webshop in Hungary, the experts at jateknet.hu have found that the experience of unpacking is still in focus, and interactive plush and robots are gaining ground, so they are focusing on their 2020 offering accordingly.

Providing a good reflection of the current market, the 3 trends “Toys for Future” (products made from organic or recycled materials), “Digital goes Physical” (content and stars that children are familiar with in the digital world), and “Be You!”, were well received by trade visitors and exhibitors in this year’s exhibition. The focus of the fair was on connecting digital and traditional toys and environmental awareness. Thousands of novelties are expected in the spring offering, including exciting toys where the need to unscrew balls from a machine and get the surprises from the balls, or cut the toy itself out of a hard jelly-like material.” Molded materials also play an important role, such as slimes, but they are no longer part of the process of making them (which has burst into public awareness), but rather as part of other games.

The proliferation of interactive plush and robot items are undeniable, primarily due to the new generation’s changed lifestyle and play habits. One might think that in today’s digitalisation environment (online and mobile games, e-sports) it is becoming increasingly difficult to get kids to play physical games. Experience has, however, shown that board games are flourishing – for example, Monopoly is 85 years old –  that most popular retro toys are „remodeling” or adapting and adding mobile apps and applications, but physical display from digital is also a popular trend, such as Fortnite video game toy-figures.

The experience of the exhibition has confirmed  that the heros of the major manufacturers are always determined by the actual new films, cartoons and video games that appear in the given year.  Parents must be aware and prepared in advance because most of the new and trendy children’s toys are  already and will be added to the web store’s offer.

Part documentary – part concert film – „Break On Thru”– A Celebration Of Ray Manzarek captures a 2016 tribute performance in Los Angeles by surviving Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger to salute the keyboardist fellow Doors member Ray Manzarek who died in 2013.

Around the World the cinemas will be screening on his birthday date February, 12.  

The set list consists of Doors songs performed by John and Robby alongside a cast of all-star guest musicians, including various members of the Foo Fighters, X, Stone Temple Pilots, Jane’s Addiction, Paul McCartney’s Band, Gov’t Mule and more. Four Days of the Teddy Bear Carnival is on its way.

Thursday, January, 30. to Sunday, February, 2.

Children under the age of 14 who are coming in costume or bring their Teddy Bear with them can visit the Budapest Zoo with a symbolic entry price 200HUF.

During the Teddy Bear Carnival a variety of programs and special discounts at the Zoo waiting for families, kindergarten and school groups.

Each year the 2nd of February is a remarkable day at the Budapest Zoo, because according to folk divination its said the bear is a real winter forecast, will show the coming length of winter season. If on this day the bear sees his shadow …  being a sunny day … then it will take a long time still the winter to be here, but if it does not see his shadow then …  ie weather is overcast daylight … the winter is not going to last so long. will stay outside or heading back to its cave to sleep some more.

“Balu the Brown Bear … to see or not to see its shadow!?!  That question remains until Sunday … will it stay outside or go back into its cave in having more sleep.  To find out … this coming Sunday visitors are welcomed to see.
