Prehaps new information to many that in addition to the coffee bean, the flesh fruit is also a source of many valuable nutrients and flavor, which ended up on the coffee fields ground.  Imagen  a sherry compaired to a coffee fruit … inside the cherry is the nut whilst inside the flesh of the fruit that surrounds the coffee bean.  Hot drinks, new-wave soft drinks and even crisps were prepared to present new flavors and the power of upcycling with the tasting!

At the event the exhibitors told in recent decades, sustainability and circularity have been increasingly emphasized in the food industry and of one of the favorit hot drinks the coffee more and more efforts towards this. During the cultivation and processing of coffee, a number of raw materials and by-products are produced, which until now we might not even have thought of how valuable they can be. One such example is Cascara,  as  a/m  the dried version of the flesh of the fruit that surrounds the coffee bean. Traditionally, this flesh surrounding the coffee greens was often discarded or composted. However, due to the growing interest in sustainability, cascara’s potential is being recognized in more and more places.

Cascara is rich in nutrients such as caffeine, antioxidants and vitamins. The coffee fruit with its fig and date-like aroma …  (sourced from Bányai Coffee’s plantation in Costa Rica). Has antioxidant content and energizing effects. A unique refreshment not only to bare the heat during hot summer but throughout the year.  Thanks to upcycling, these valuable materials can be given new life. In this way  not only protect our environment by reducing waste,  and create special and nutritious products that conquer with a unique taste and contribute as an additional source of income to the livelihood of those working on the plantations.

Casacara by Monyo Coke Soda is now also available in Hungary. Packed 0.33-liter aluminum cans. Once you tasted it will go for more… so yummy and refreshing.
