CITY OF MISKOLC 13TH WINTER ASPIC MEAT FESTIVAL – WEEK-END DURING FEBRUARY 22-24. 2013.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The season to celebrate the „Aspic Meat Festival” has arrived to the City of Miskolc! It became a prominent event in the North region of Hungary a real  tradition and also a good time to visit Miskolc. The whole festival surrounding was as dream, being in the hustle and bustle at a huge fairground, even though the stormy northern winds and snowfalls woke me up from that dream. Afterall the atmosphere was spiced up with attractions, good foods and  warm welcome which warmed up our body and soul.

Source from the organisers … „Every year in the third week of February Miskolc Winter the biggest open air festival of winter in Hungary invites visitors. The festival was founded upon a story about Miskolc starring the frog and the meat jelly. This unique event is based either on modern entertainment and traditions and values. In the wide range of programmes elements of culture, gastronomy, sport, health, environmental protection, and active adventure tourism are gathered together. There is a proverb about the famous case that happened here in Miskolc: „Blinks like the frog in the meat jelly of Miskolc” …  Each year more-and-more people visit the festival, in 2007 during the festival more than 100 thousand people visited the events, in 2008 over 200 thousand visitors were registered.”

Here it is in nutshell about the tale … Once upon a time, a frog jumped into a bowl of   “KOCSONYA”  – aspic meat while cooling in a cellar at a restaurant in Miskolc and the waitress served it to guests without a glance into the bowl. Actually, haven’t a clue whether the guest really ate the soup or not, but since then, the expression saying: “Blinks, like the frog in the Miskolc  aspic meat”  this have had become a common usage in Hungary. So at Miskolc now was the time and place to go and enjoy this treat … hopefully without the frog! The Kocsonya is prepared in the late fall  as the weather becomes a bit chilly and winter when the boiling soup is placed in a cold place of the house or in the cellar. Then slowly the hot soup becomes a meat aspic. Some cook it with pork meat adding veggies and spices, some with the use of turkey meat, or fish, or simply with only veggies and in this case need a lot of garlic which helps the soup to become I would say ’sleepy”, but officially they say it jelly frost.

Even though the weather was dreadful, with  heavy snowing, as seen  in the slide show, many visitors came around the streets and squares are where music filled each corner  with showmen entertaining the guests.

More than a hundred programs, concerts and performances are waiting for the small and big ones who can taste the famous meat jelly of Miskolc, the laczi-steak (Hungarian  spicy steak, the pretzel and each year the popular beer rolls down the throats for many having a „Korty” meaning „Síp” of  the well-known beer speciality of Miskolc. Having frogs as the main character of the event “T.G.” there were no live frogs falling from the sky, neither in the bowls this time, nor bouncing around the merry folks!

Over the 3 days biggest Hungarian, national, open-air, multicultural winter event, this year from Slovakia, Kosice – ECOC – 2013. was the honored guest at the festival. The major of Kosice with his delegation were welcomed by the local prominent persons of Miskolc and also had a major stand whereas „Visit Kosice” programs  “spiced up” by the Kosice artists gave a superb performance. The honored guest was shown around the city and taken tasting of a wide range of meat aspic.

Not just the wine from the vineyards of Monok, but bean soup with smoked meat, flavored in the regions style was welcomed for tastings and surely folks couldn’t  say it enough times how much they enjoyed the ala-Monok  spicy bean soup that they will never forget. Well it was  seen that the locals,  folks from other regions of Hungary and foreigners strolling along through paths couldn’t resist from the calling sent to stop by and have a tasting bowl  ala-Monok spicy bean soup. Found out on the spot, that  … Saturday, July, 6. at Monok will hold its first BeanSoup Festival.

The  mouth-watering  sweet  blackberry, sweet raspberry, sweet cherry and  the sour-sweet wines were presented  by  “art of making fruit wines”  Mr. Csaba Sápi and his kind wife Ili. His hands were all the time full with sips filled glasses calling the folks walking by to come over and have a taste  of 100%  real fruit wines. Ili, his wife was baking small donuts filled with her own home-made appricot jam, it was heavenly good and made you forget the pelting  snowland you were walking along that’s for sure.

A stop at  tasting  “Hajni’s”cherry pies and cakes filled with the cherry from the famous „Cherry fields” from Szomolya  was such a special treat.  Also  was present when thumbs-up  by the VIP delegation from Kosice was welcomed to to stand an invited for the tasting of their famous cherry pie.  The Szomolya  area is also known as Hungary’s one and only “Cherryville!”. By-the-way Szomolya enjoys world fame with her early ripening, honey-sweet, half-black cherries. You may also have the experience to taste this rich in flavor cherry by visiting Szomolya  by car, by intercity bus,  as jackbooted tourist, as horseback rider or by  bicycle  to  Szomolya between June, 7-9.  to be at the XIIth Cherry Festival.

So, heading back to the scene at the Aspic Meat Festival, many fine local dishes and gastronomic specialties were to welcome the visitors which surely swept them into the grove of having that festival feeling. As for the share of the culture life, the Kosice delegation visited the local museum, whereas many Slovakian born famous men have added, shared their rich culture and art with the city of Miskolc. The famous Miskolc „Steelers” American Football team and cheerleaders gave a spectacular show on the main stage. The visitors also had a chance to meet with the Miskolc’s Polar bears hockey team. The little ones were not left out of enjoyments, many kids programs were out on the scene as well. Musicworld was presented by regions bands and from Kosice serving all kinda taste, as folk music,  dance music, alternative rock, Latin salsa and samba, Jazz.

Last but not least a growing number of foreign and Hungarian tourists left their footsteps at the Jelly Meat Festival in Miskolc and might be they will go back to the place again next year where once they had a terrific time.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

In-and-around  the Festival of the Jelly Meat  at Miskolc, in between February 22-24, the Miskolc National Theater‘s on  Saturday, February 23. during the season in the series of drama programs, three well-known figures of gentry living with us, previously playing in the “Csörgheő Csuli – knuckle” by outstanding well-known actors as Mr. György Cserhalmi, Mr. András Stohl and Mr.Tibor Gáspár came along to show their own tricks and knowlege by the way of cooking the famous Hungarian Grey Beef Stew! Each of them brought their own style by cooking with the flavors from their birth region and the family use of spices. More to the gathering they talked about their role in the character, playing “Csörgheő Csuli Knuckle”, script written by Zsigmond Móricz. As the stew was on open fire the ongoing tasting went on-and-on. Also by tasting the other’s boiling stews, picking on eachother with jokes whileand  having some pálinka in the deepth of the  snowy cold weather to be hot just as the stew on fire. Theysurely caught the mood and enjoyed their role in cooking as well. Mr. Tibor Gáspár told us, this is his first time cooking the Hungarian grey beef soup…haa. Mr. Sohl said his father cooked the best beef stew in the world so he wish to cooking it  ala father’s sytle. Mr. Cserhalmi told us, his convincted this stew will win the first prize :-). We awaited for the surprise at the end. Must admit all the stews were heavenly yummy, soft and tender was the meat, perfectly cooked.

The stews were still of fire when  the talk-show went on in the theater’s main stage. The “Csuli Chief’s” assistants took over the woodenspoon, looked after the composition.  The show started with a huge birthday cake rolling onto the stage .. .it was Mr. András Stohl’s birthday and recently Mr. György Cserhalmi’s as well. Funny when it comes to talking about the exact year of a person’s birthday, so the moderator only added the three of the actors age in years as  total of 111years. The talk-show was moderated by Mr. Artúr Szőcs.

At the end of the talk-show, the audience were called to have a taste of the three “cookers”  beef stew and decide which one was the best in flavors and taste. Yet, before the tasting was open,  on stage came 5 genuine gypsy violin players to enroll in the competition. The “Csuli’s” at the end decided whose primate play was the best. In the competition all gypsy players were from the region of Borsod.  The four out of the five competitors are already famous, well-known gypsy violin players around the world. There was also a member in competition who plays at the 100 member gypsy orchestra, but this evening the three Csuli members  called out as one for the winner to the  talented young violinist.

What a day-and-night … most sure many locals enjoyed their stay and  those people how arrived just for this special day will remember of the fun they had. Heard there will quite a number of visitors from Budapest, just to see these fab. actors “in motion”!

Congrats goes out to the Miskolc National Theater to have in mind as to organized such a  superb day … cooking at the theater’s courtyard  and  holding a n awesome evening on the stage  with the three grand characters of   “Csuli”.  And theevening’s cream on top of the cake was absolutely highlighted  with the grand gypsy violin players.

VERDI’S NABUCCO ON STAGE AT THE CITY OF MISKOLC NATIONAL THEATER

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Needn’t have to say … Verdi’s Nabucco is one of the world’s magnificant opera  and it arrived  to  the Miskolc National Theater!

Verdi’s grand opera, the Nabucco came alive on Friday, February, 22. 2013.  was on stage at the relatively small city of Miskolc’s National Theater compared to the capital Budapest’s National Theater, but even though of the sizes, the theater and the size of the city itself, the opera play was the-night-of-the night’s with a spectacular performance.  The house was absolutely full. The designing of the chorus stage of placement was an impressive catch by the director by using every inch-by-inch the placing of the chorus beside the rows of the audience. So even though the stage was rather small for a gigantic scene, the choreography and the director’s  arrangements were outstanding! Let alone of the high season of colds and flu, the singer vocal performances was acceptable and  good in acting.

Throughout the decades Nabucco stands far with his superior piece of Verdi, who was only 27 years old when he composed this great piece of art. Nabucco opera opened theaters not just in Italy and many parts of the world. The local opera lovers and even from Budapest, groups were interested to see the performance at the Miskolc National Theater. Many may know, but for those „few” who are just going to get acquainted with the opera act here is a brief background:

It holds a biblical story, taking place in 578BC. Babylonian King Nabucco occupied Jerusalem, stroyed the city and the Temple of Solomon, the Jewish people in captivity. Nabucco’s has two daughters: Abigail and Fenena. Fenena falls in love with a Jewish boy Izmaellel who saved his life. Abigel turns out, not a descendant of Nabucco, it is not entitled to inherit the throne. Abigail still decides to take over. Fate favors him because Nabucco declares himself God, when a lightning struck him down, and from his mind confused. Abigail possession of power wants the Jews to death, and they Fenenát, who was on their side. The judgment of the confusion made the minded king stringer as well. Nabucco is a lucid moment and then realizes what he’s done. Desperation of the Jews pray to God who heals and returns the old level. In time can prevent Fenena sacrificed on the altar of Baal. Abigail poisoned himself. The King of the Jews returned to freedom, return home countries.

Preformers: Ms. Szilvia Rálik, as Abigail, Ms. Anett Baranyai, as Anna, Ms. Gabriella Busa, as Fenena, Mr. István Horváth, as Ishmael, Mr. Titusz Tóbisz, as Abdalla, Viktor Massányi, as Nabucco, Mr. István Rácz, as Zechariah, Mr.Károly Kincses, as High Priest of Baal.

Music was awesome by the participation of the Miskolc National Theater Orchestra, choir, the dance faculty and chorus of the Csokonai Theater, Bertalan Szemere Secondary School, High School students of Győző Balázs Reformed.  Child Actors: Anna Kőhegyi, Frida Fandl, Johan Lichy.

Mr. György Kesselyák, Liszt-awarded musical director, Mr. Attila Kozma, Choregrapher, Ms. Maria Tóth and Timea Bundzik, tutors, Ms. Erika Radnai, assistant director, Ms. Krisztina Reiter, the help, Ms. Edit Zeke, set design,  Mr. Jankó Papp, Costume designer.

THIS  WAS AN AMAZING  – NIGHT AT THE OPERA  –  WITH AN OVERALL  OF 100 PERFORMERS!

All things must come to an end and here the stage was so colorful, full of the performers as they were called back on stage by the audience clapping, cheering loud for more than a half-a-dozen times.

The photos are from the source of the Miskolc National Theater.

ANOTHER DAY AT THE FIRST FISH FESTIVAL – BUDAPEST 2013.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Just this Sunday at the Akvárium Pool and the 1st Fish Festival will be coming to the end. Hope many visitors enjoy their walk-around at great floating  fish soups in the air.

Besides the traditional Hungarian dishes of fish, the most well-known Asian cuisine dishes were also available on the spot. As said at the press call, three invited countries will be cooking, representing their traditional culinary delights, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. unfortunately, too much fish was around to try to find my way to see and visit ‘Nam’s and Japan’s culinary specialties. I think these two countries should have been given more space and advertising attention, or at least a map of stands, showing where is what. Very narrow was the passing walking area, that made the visitors hard to „swim” through the crowd.

“The festival is aimed at encouraging the domestic consumption of fish and to strengthen the fish culture here Hungarian within the gastronomy of specially cooked Hungarian soups and dishes ” …  told by Mr. József Németh,  “Venesz” awarded  president at the Hungarian National Gasdtronomic Association.

The consumption of fish for centuries was/is an integral part of the Hungarian cuisine. However and ever though the territory of Hungary has many fast running rivers (great meat of energetic running fish), lakes (more fatty meat of lazy fish) and fish at breeding establishments (One of Hungary’s Fish Farm is at Hortobágy area, where there are fish ponds operating. The carp capacity is between 200 million and 50 million, herbivorous and carnivorous fish rearing.

At the Hortobágy area and the Tisza region for thousands of years was self-sufficient in fish. Upon recorded information it is said … at the dawn of the new age at the unregulated rivers there were “more fish than water.”

My way: „The Hungarian fish soup needs no chief’s headgear in preparing a unique full of harmonies, delightful fish soup. Basically, all you need is a variety of carp, catfish, pike, bream, onion, salt and pepper, then add bay leaf, tomato, fresh green paprika to specie up your day…. and there you go.”

Unfortunately, when you have plenty it is not always fully appreciated. The Hungarians annual fish consumption of an average of 4 kilograms/year/person.Throughout Europe Hungary has the most field of water sources the figures show we eat fish among the lowest in Europe. Even though knowing the beneficial effects of fish, known to be rich consumption effects: the heart and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

One of the highlights of the festival was that distinguished fish folks inn’s represented themselves by cooking on open air their style of fish soups These people were from several corners of Hungary’s famous  „csarda” Folks Inns. Mentioning a couple which had their own stand called: „Soupi” at the festival.  The unique Russian Fish soup called: „UHA”  which exist since the times of the Tsarist domination. What is special about this fish soup … no red paprika powder, as I mentioned to him „it looks like a pale-faced Indian” … this is how we Hungarians call those who have no tan of their face, they put many kinds of fish: salmon, catfish and other fish with carrots and  potatoes and the „cream on top”  they add 40% of „Lya Vodka” or whatever is at home on the shelves. As was told, this is an everyday fish soup in Russia. The next caldron to be visited was already boiling the fish soup Alá-Mohács by Lajos Havas and Péter Szikra, the team of two arrived from Mohács. They also brought the traditional „Mohács Black Ceramic – as to serve their fish soups – made by the famous local László Lakatos pottery maker. There speciality was cooking their soup with the strong aroma „CRNI LUK” onion powder bought from Serbia. As Péter Szikra added, without the use of the powder they would be falling into tears while peeling a half-a-dozen of palm-sized onions. Now it is not available in Hungary, but the talks are going on between the parties to have it available in the stores in Hungary. Péter Szikra has a „Fish Island” at Mohács, where there is an Inn, fishing opportunities and fish cooking combined with the possibility of arranging events. Pál Nagy was also there but this time as a visitor. He is from the area of Baja, well-known by all Hungarians they have  their own specially cooked fish soup with their special noodles which are called the „matches” noddles. The also have annual fish soup festival at Baja, which is a  traditional for 300 years and ont he occasion of this anniversary there was 300 stands of fish soups from all the territories of Hungary. As he said their fish soup is prepared with pike, perch, catfish, sterlet and zander.

Now to the fish soup the wines were not missing. The Fekete Wine Cellar brought their products from Agárd, at Lake Velence.  Rolling around the stand, man there were  many Pálinka to rinsen the throats. Passing by the stands, was  called to have  a shot and taste the Madarasi Pálinka House’s  clear fruit pálinkas.  I thought I would go for the blueberry, was as having a bunch of fresh fruit,  could not stop in smelling it, cause the aroma was just amazing. The pálinka house stand in the town called Madaras and is owned by Mr. Márton Lakatos.  The  family owned company was one of the first’s „hire distiller” joining to the Pálinka Order of Knighthood in 2004. Was also told: ” For example getting 2 liters of elderberry pálinka you need 100 kilograms of elderberries to gain 60-70% of pálinka.”

The Fruit Wine from the Sápi Family company, located at Csömör was all day long surrounded by visitors at their stand. Csaba Sápi was like a PA calling the visitors for free tasting. While I was there a couple of bottles of fruit wines were brought and on their way home, taken to brighten up the rainy days. “Unfortunately, the fruit wines do not have such a great prestige among the Hungarian wine makers, most of them think wine can be made from only grapes, which is not true” said Csaba Sápi, winemaker. Also added: “We realized that the fruit wines should be treated as a good mother to hear  what the child says. I always listen to them, care for them.”  Csaba’s  wife, Ili on the stand told me: „We have now strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and blue elderberry wines made purely from the fruits , also produce red and black currant and  our latest product is preparing figs wine. The brand name stands of the daughter, Timea. By all means forms further motivations for us to create a quality product. “My daughter’s face marks the products, so I create a wine that matures in my child’s name and face. Last year our brand, the fruit wine was presented at the Real Wine Fair in London. As the  wine makers  stopped by and tasted them it become popular among the locals.  Foreigner wine makers  we also interested in our wines. The China’s sales representative also bought selection of dozen bottles of our fruit wine. Hopefully at this year’s  Real Wine Fair in London we will be again represented with our  fruit wines.” Ili, also was so kind to bring her home-made previously prepared special pasta for Hungarian donuts. We usually eat them with home-made jams. As can be seen, topped with apricot jam as the home-made jams are common  here, cut in 2 pieces so the fruit looks not only wonderful but tastes good. The snap can be seen in the slide show.

Last but not at all visiting the stands, must say a word or two about the „Pisztrángos” stand, where a wagon length of crowd was awaiting to get the taste of the famous trout to eat by „Feri Pisztrángos” from Dunabogdány.  Many said on the spot they have heard about the delightful fish dishes served at his restaurant at Dunabogdány that is why they will not leave the stand before not tasting these „good looking” trouts. Well, I was already on my way, just dropped by to Mr. Pisztrángos taken some snaps. Asked me whether I have been at their restaurant and tastes their special trouts already. Hearing I have not, was invited to visit his restaurant and based on my experience to evaluate what kind the royal trout got the hook on me.

The thought of bringing a festival of fish has been never before in Hungary, even though Hungary has 3 lakes, main rivers, the River Danube which rolls through the country dividing the country map into two parts, the River Tisza. and many small rivers. So Hungary is rich in a land of waters. Now anyone can image how many fish are swimming and awaited to be on the hook.  There is no age limit to join the festival. Young-and-old who are fish food lovers are invited to eat fish their heavenly tastes with the special Hungarians spices. Those who come around will not only have the experience to eat the ordinary Hungarian style way of prepared fish, also  will be able to taste fish  the way it is prepared in different regions of Hungary. Beside eating these melting tastes the organizers are come along with culinary arts, cultural programs and social events to highlight the coming 3 days. The organizers goal was to bring this fish festival  to encourage people to eat more-and-more fish food and promote the culture of fish consumption in Hungary.

Besides of the fact that fish has beneficial effects on human health , it also forms part of our gastronomy and is essential part of our holiday feasts.

However, fish consumption in Hungary is far below the European average; therefore the aim of the event is to popularise fish dishes to all the visitors at the festival. Another key objective is to raise awareness of the locals to our domestic surface waters with a special attention to the cleanness of River Danube.  The River Danube was ranked among the 10 most endangered rivers in the world.  Due to numerous initiatives which have been taken, quality of its water has improved, yet further efforts are still needed.

Our Fish Festival seeks to raise awareness of the values of our natural resources.  Profile of the festival The Budapest Fish Festival is planned to be an interactive event, where both the adults and the smallest can enjoy the programmes and the culinary delights. During the course of the first fish festival of the capital, visitors can not only taste the fish specialties but can take part in the cooking and preparation as well.

I festival could not be a festival without not inviting a guest country to also show their specialities. The organisers consider uniqueness extremely important. Therefore. Budapest Fish Festival, overstepping the usual Hungarian fish-soup festivals, will bring maybe not really well-known, new, international flavours to introduce to the visiting guests. Besides the traditional Hungarian dishes, the flavours of Asia will be presented, also traditional recipes from Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

I bet many are already been ingested a big one Ain’t have to wait for the delights too long, just 2days and here comes the 1st Fish Festival, 2013. Budapest.

There will be a talent contest during three days of the Fish Festival.

Anyone who feels the talent in declamation, dance, music or even stand up comedy genre of entertainment which theme is inspired by the fish, may have a chance to perform at the Budapest Festival stage. Applications are awaiting to be forward with a short introduction to the e/mail address: info@budapestihalfesztival.hu

It’s a friendly atmosphere, meeting, outdoor cooking in the heart of the city where everyone is welcome.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

A full day to the Far-East without taking a flight to China.

Sunday was the day, February,10. the Asia-Pacific and Hungarian artists, acrobats, musicians, athletes, games, prizes, sport activities awaited the visitors who joined together to welcome the Chinese Year of the Snake in other words: the Lunar New Year Festival.

At the Millennium Park Hungarians  and the Chinese … staying, living in Hungary came  together to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year by a full day of outstanding events and evening show

“To celebrate here in Hungary the Lunar New Year ain’t a secret … our aim to create a tradition. In addition to the entertainment  for the audience, we would like to draw the attention to the cultural diversity and the better understanding of the Hungarian Society of migrant communities” These were the opening words said by Mr. Marcell Lőrincz, President of the Foundation of Subjective Values.

Here are some of the stands that were visited: The Corvinus University and the University of Szeged and the ELTE Confucius Institutions represented themselves with calligraphy education, spreading the Chinese culture and language teaching on educational levels. Competitions and lucky Chinese knots bonds were highly appreciated by the visitor. Those interested to which Chinese animal was standing in the year of their birth, received information and also a card telling them what is typical in them related to their year of birth.

Throughout the day, several times the lion dance was preformed inside area of the Millennium. Was a stand to introduce the Chinese tea culture, also tasting and shopping the unique flavors of the Far East.

Breathtaking exhibition was out on display with  photographs taken in the beautiful land of China. Also interactive cultural activities, Kung Fu competition to win the Cup of Champions took place. Ping-pong tables were available for young and old to get into the mood and rhythm of the outstanding Chinese ping-pong style, playing with the Hungarian Ms. Rita Pócsai double-champion and ten-times go and table-tennis champion Mr. Csaba Magyar was such a thrill to young and elder folks. At the tennis tables the Master Chin-Wei Csiu, Mr. Zoltán Varga, European champion in table tennis were awaiting to be called for a set. For the young ones origami courses were held. The master of calligraphy art Zhang Wei glimpse into the world  for telling kids some  Chinese children’s stories.

Must  say, the most popular and visited space was to get acquainted with/in some level of the traditional Chinese medicine. For many visitors it was the first time to hear and to try in practise with the support of the Chinese experts on the spot some tests and methods mapping their health conditions. Of course, there were many individuals who already have heard, known, been to these natural healing centers here in Budapest and for them it was like an advance training to hear more and precisely to gain information of the level of their health condition.

During the day Dr. Chen Zhen, professor of medicine and President of Central European Association TCM held several presentations for much to enjoy. Each-and-every gathering at his lecture room was full like herrings in the tin. Dr. Chen is an outstanding precentor, so well delivered his sophisticated knowledge in Hungarian language. His Powerpoint presentation was so clear like looking through the sparkling window. At the end of his presentation people from various trade got a hold of him and asked several questions, advises connected to implement in their daily professional work. Also Dr. Chen publications were  available and held  book signing after his presentations  Many who already had his Book of Natural had the pleasure to get it signed by him.

The festival came to the end  with  the show of 35 famous Guangxi Acrobatic Society. Most sure it was an unforgettable awesome show.

The Chinese legend says …”The more abundant the New Year’s feast is, the richer will be the New Year. Therefore, in grand preparation  takes place for the New Year, after cleaning the (pans) cooking’s must be continued.”… haaa … tell me about it.

To-day the Snake probably enjoyed his welcome and hopefully we will also enjoy his presence throughout the coming

Year of the Snake.

But before heading to the a/m announcement at the press call of this morning by the representatives of the W!ZZ AIR here is a brief overview about the W!ZZ AIR, even though many already know and have had experiences to fly with W!ZZ AIR … but could be (!?!) many have not yet flew, been on board the largest low-cost, low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe…

Strong and Consistent Growth … easy to follow the data’s.

In the year 2004 when W!ZZ Air first landed in Hungary, carried 0.7 million passengers throughout Europe. compared to the past 9 years, this figure has increased to 12 million passengers in the year 2012. The numbers speak for themselves and clearly can be seen the position W!ZZ AIR has achieved in growth. This coming year, 2013., the figures are expected to reach 13.8 million passengers.

Anybody will surely have the  “Best in Class” experience on the fleet. The Airbus A320 aircrafts are maintained by their partners as Lufthansa Technik, whom share the Airline’s commitments as to the high standards of safely and quality. Can be well followed the W!ZZ AIR’s significant cost advantages.

WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Oh well …. before someone has a second thought … this is not a contemporary art!  It shows W!ZZ AIR  operations over 250 routes throughout 30 countries to 84 destinations with the number of 39, Airbus A320 aircrafts and  the number of 1500 employees.

Unbeatable value for money, but what is also so important not just for to-day, but as for the future generation on our Planet ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION and have to admit the W!ZZ AIR fleet in age is the youngest and indeed the clearest aircraft in Europe. Just to be in the picture, here are some data:  Fleet  of age and the O2 emission: W!ZZ: 3.2yrs. – 70g/RPK, RYR: 3.8yrs. – 77g/RPK, EZY: 4.2yrs. – 85g/RPF, AF-KLM: 9,5yrs.  –  93g/RPK, BA: 13yrs. – 103g/RPK, LH: 12.9yrs. – 105g/RPK.

Alright, not going to take anyone’s precious time away any longer by throwing the wet ball into the net. Here comes the herald news  as mentioned earlier being at this morning’s press  announcement.

W!zz Air’s new iPhone application to book flights will be available for all iPod and iPhone users starting from next week!

Iphone application

This morning  in time, the same announcement took  place at the countries following: Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Czech Republic Poland, Romania and Slovenia. Some questions many might already have in mind. Here is a couple of answers to the thoughts: Will it work on the tablets? We were told it ain’t yet been developed as a separate computerized application. They are keeping that in mind to have it later rolling along just as well as on the use of iPod and iPhone. The Android’s new app is already at the AppelStore, but said for the W!zz Air it will only be available in May, 2013., because at the moment it is under the development stage. W!zz Air  came out with its mobil application in use to  book for any flight, but unfortunately only W!zz Discount Club members can take the advantage of all the features. Mobile check-in cannot be in use, but it was said it will be available this coming March. There are no plans running on yet in charging the accounts at  the W!ZZ AIR. Those passengers already registered are able to sign in immediately and going through the “pages”  can book their tickets.  Once the reservation is carried out there will be no  possibility to modify it. As for the future it is expected to be able to register on the application, until then it can still be made on the website.  Caution… Only the members who pay the 8900HUF annual fee  for W!zz Discount Club membership can use it. The system does not memorize the credit card information for safety reasons, but as soon as  the function becomes available then notice will appear on the website. Unfortunately, at the moment still have to get your ticket using the „old way”, e-ticket printing method. The fact that by the use of the mobile phone  to check-in is still ahead, was told it will take two to three weeks. It requires further appropriate negotiations and going through in the development stage. Naturally, some places have to pay for that service, and as for the mobile boarding pass reading development and investment on the ground handling companies obviously will have to be paid by the airline. After the booking the reservation can do with acredit card or with the usen of the person’s account balance! The cards eccepted: MasterCard,Visa, Wizz Card Hungary, Wizz Card Romania, Wizz Card Poland. Simply tap the submit payment button after finalizing the booking procedure.

Easy to follow, because the app are available in Hungarian, English, German and Romanian languages .

BE SMART …  CHOOSE SMART … FLY SMART … WITH W!ZZ AIR BACK-AND-FORTH TO BUDAPEST- HUNGARY!
