ABSOLUTE VODKA … ABSOLULTE ICE BAR IN BUDAPEST!

The first to be viewed, the renewed Ice Bar along with the new ice sculptures will be admired in the coming days by Ms. Betty Balássy and Mr. Feri Varga, two “Mega Star” performers.

A little briiihaaa … Yes, at the Ice Bar to cool down in Budapest.

It is not just a simple attraction. It draws attention to locals and especially among travelers who are on the lookout for unusual environments and “B” shaking”  cold experiences.

This Ice Bar in Budapest, is just beyond belief. Most probably is also impressive just like the originate places as in Iceland, Norway and Lapland, where ice is simply a regular guest and ain’t a big deal to have tons of pure, clear ice around you.

On the hot days we are having in Budapest, where else to cool down and enjoy the atmosphere  having a snip of a hot-shot or a cool cocktail in glasses made out of ice as well. How awesome does this sound? The  place is full of ice furnitures and majestic ice sculptures, all is kept at low temperatures to hinder melting.

These numerous ice sculptures are master piece of art  made by Hungarian multiple gold medal World Champion  Ice Sculptor Mr. Zsolt Toth.

This place is a freezy paradise for those people who love cold, and are liter attracted by snow and ice. Guess the Polar Bears, Penguins and of course the Seals would give a thumb-up to this place.

Not to be worried catching a cold … you will be dressed as a “SEAL”  to keep warm during your visit.

Soon to be reopened for visitors!

ECO MARKET AND FESTIVAL – ALL GOODS – MADE IN HUNGARY!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

MOUTHWATERING GROCERIES !

MADE IN HUNGARY!

The Millennium Park in Budapest held an Eco and Market festival, whereas  the main goal  was  to play a role in the environmentally conscious lifestyle and  to bring  the local farmers their locally produced organic food to our daily life.

The  environmental well-known concept of  our culture today has to keep the lights on and hopefully in the future more-and-more people will to take a part in practising it their everyday lives.

Lately, those who care about the high quality raw materials, are beginning to purchase from the local farmer’s products at the markets.

A MAGICAL LINEUP NOT FOR THE EYES ONLY,  BUT THE TASTE BUDS TO HAVE EXPERIENCES OF THE HUNGARIAN FLAVORS.

Cheese … Homemade organic products were out on display, tasting wasn’t forbidden and also to shop around. There were various flavors  regular and smoked goat and cow cheese, some with added herbs, veggies or fruits. Unbelievably tasty.

SEEDS: One of the stands had  bowls of salsa taste, garlic toasted pumpkin seeds. What a unique lineup in variety of tastes, especially for those who are fond of the good old  pumpkin seeds. Well known the edible seeds, as the cumin seeds, linseed, pumpkin seed, hazelnuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, wheat seeds. All have their own characteristic, impact to our health.

BEER …  Sour cherry beer (now take that!) a great combination and a smooth taste  to end the hot day during the warm summer evening or pick anytime of the day. At another beer stand, brought from the town of Pilisvörösvár, the Rotburger beer. They have a spectacular brewery which has joint connection to a pub and a  beer garden.

CHEESE … Homemade organic products were out on display, could have had bits of tasting any of the cheese out on display and also shop around. There were various flavors regular and smoked goat and cow cheese with and without added herbs, veggies  and fruits. Unbelievably tasty.

VEGGIES … hot and mild paprika, white and red carrot,  summer pumpkins, tomato, cukini, eggplant, all from the fields of farmer’s.

SOFT DRINKS  … Pressed, squeezed fruits and veggies without any preservatives.

HERBS … From all around the country’s … high mountains, deep valleys.

OILS …  Hope nobody will mind,  for stopping here for a while … miracles do not roll in our everyday, but with especial oils gain from seeds anyone can reach the miracle even though you cannot hold it in the palm of your hand! Just a little overview of the cold-pressed oils made mechanically, which I was told within a short presentation by an expert on the spot: “The cold-pressed oils are made with the support of a mechanical construction, in the course of which the valuable, healthy substances are gained through a screw-press and from the seeds to be pressed in the form of oil.”

Now that might sound pretty simple, but  to stop and think about it for a second, it surely needs a huge amount of seeds to get in the end a glass of natural oil. The oil gain gently this way preserves its special smell, taste, vitamins and fatty acid. For instance, taking for example the  Poppy Seed Oil.  The poppy-seed is an extremely important treasure in the Hungarian and nearby countries cuisines. It is rich in amino acids, fatty acids, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and iron. It is one of the best or simply the best and the most ancient remedy for osteoporosis, which is now-a-days unfortunately endemic. Poppy seed is the natural, primary aid for the skeletal body. It stops the decaying process of bony tissue and starts to build it. It has been also known for a long time that it slows ageing and helps lowering blood pressure. Last but  not least, it has nerve invigorating, nerve ache reducing, sedative and soporific effects.

Did you know?  The Almond seed oil is counted among the most excellent vegetable oils. Beside its immune system invigorating effect it hinders the development of diabetes. They say the daily dosage is  one or two tbl.spoons by itself, but  a piece of bread  will do or as sprinkled on a salad.

Many things are know about the Sunflower seed oil, yet  here it could be something as a new information. The mechanically, traditionally pressed sunflower oil is essential oil, containing repeatedly unsaturated fatty acid in large quantities. Most of the fitosterol which lowers the blood pressure can be found in the pistachio and sunflower. Also  favorable results can be achieved in preventing circulatory diseases and beneficial for prostate problems as well.

My favorite of the day was the “Magic Castle” oil. The oil is with the combination of four kinds of oils: poppy-seed, marrow seed, sunflower and almond. The four unique components have  its special physiological effects.

As it was stressed out: ” The healthy diet is important for everyone, the clean air and energy efficiency, also is a must have to-day! Especially not only to those living out in the countryside, but in a large city as living in Budapest there is a great need for people to understand and use the practical manners in their everyday environment.” Said so well  during the culinary presentation.

Excellent day experiencing flavors at the green field of the Millennium Park – Budapest.

WORLD PREMIERE: EARL MONTE CRISTO MUSICAL AT THE MARGARET ISLAND BUDAPEST

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Musicial in two parts

On a semi-warm summer evening on the Margaret Island Open-Air Theater at one of the beautiful and greenie places in Budapest. People simply love this place to watch a play or musical in its relaxing atmosphere. Spent the evening being present at a superb musical performance arriving from the city of Békéscsaba with the production of the Jókai Theater’s guest actors. Within the musical play, they brought alive a superb performance, an adaptions of the well-known novel by Dumas, the Earl Monte Cristo. A bit of exciting twists on the classics, yet an excellent musical play, featuring high-profile singers and actors. Nothing stopped for a moment, the choreographic was awesome, spinning throughout the whole play, like the ocean’s huge waves touching the shores. Very well-organized by the use of the moving faces of the stage. The great songs of Mr. György Szomor were beautifully arranged and sang by the actors. Actually the three pirates in this musical aren’t characters in the original Duma novel, let alone they brought many smiles and entertainment to the audiences.

The musical surely gives the mood of the novel even though there might be a little gap for the foreigners in understanding the Hungarian language, but the performance will lead them to enjoy the story. Unfortunately the high winds did not allow the air-balloon to sweep into the scene at the stage, but during the break could have had a look at its huge in size of its bending head back-and-forth.

Seen many enjoyed a light supper before the performance. Some folks had a bite, a drink during the intermission at the spacious bar and coffee shop.

The audience did not let go off the awesome actors when the musical came to the end by not singing and playing over again the grand final scene of the musical. Was truly an enjoyable evening.

The next musical evening of Dumas’s Earl Monte Cristo will be on this coming Sunday evening at

Monday, 20th of August, 2012.

LET’S CELEBRATE!

“Monday, 20th of August, 2012  the 2nd  Gyulai István Memorial Grand Prix will take place just 7 days after the Olympic Games at London” was announced to-day by Mr. Marton Gyulai,  tournament director, gen. secretary of the Hungarian Athletics Federation at the press and media  conference during the late morning hours. He also mentioned that within the last year’s,world’s one day races, the Gyulai István Memorial GP was ranked in the 32nd place of the total of 334/day competitions. The programs this year will be in 16 to 17 numbers, and the organizers wish to invite also young children, young adults, families to a great sporty gathering and having to provide an entertainment day as a major part in celebrating the foundation of the state of  Hungary.

Mr. Pál Szekeres, Sport Deputy Secretary of State at the Human Resources Department stated  by saying the ministry feels great pride and pleasure besides giving a significant financial support to the arrangements of the forthcoming 2nd István Gyulai Memorial Grand Prix’s event and cash allowance in addition to support the lease costs of the Puskás Ferenc Stadium.

According to the information said by Mr. Attila Spiriev, sport director, beside watching again the Jamaican born, american phenomenon athlete, Ms. Sanya Richards-Ross , “sprinter like a bullet” will be also seen again by the visitors at the 2nd Gyulai István Memorial GP. There are also continuing talks with other world-class athletics. Beside the “reinforce” Hungarian classics, hopefully with the presence  of many world-wide athletics joining the tournament will absolutely uplift the coming Gyulai István Memorial GP here in Budapest.

Mr. Krisztián Pars, hammer thrower, gold medal winner at the recent European championship this year in Helsinki, will be in competition with the prestigious hammer throw foreign parties.

One of the highlights of the day will be the sprinter, Mr. Marcell Nagy Deák,  silver-medalist on 400 meters at the  Championships in Helsinki 2012. “Last year was a great atmosphere in the stadium, a great feeling to run in front of the domestic audience … It is not a secret! I will be there to win!”  told the press representatives with a wide smile. So we will see how wide our smiles will go.

We all can support and cheer for Mr. Zoltán Kővágó, who was the champion at the New-York Diamond League and who also came home from the Helsinki’s European Championship earning and well deserved his bronze medal.

This year the Gyulai István Memorial GP, will be connected to as a part of the Hungary’s National Holiday which will be more fulfilled with inspirations. The a/m  information can be useful to the attention of regular, bilingual, international secondary schools in Budapest and each corner of the country as well.

It was also told the amateurs once again can have their own race named: “How much you are running one hundred?”

One of the sport reporters at this morning’s press conference slightly renamed this race saying: “How many gasp you breath on one hundred?”  This brilliant rename won’t be “unfortunately” the official name of the game, so sad … yet personally I took it as a new dimension in the sporty term. The race’s best eight “panting”  individuals will run-run-run, show how fast they are before the start of the  international tournament.

Following the competitions between 7 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. a welcoming show will take place by celebrating the international medalist guests of the London Olympics and the Hungarian Olympics athletes.

There will be still time to catch up to the bank of the River Danube, whereas at 9 p.m. a grand fireworks will take place as the  final cord to the celebration of the Statehood of Hungary.
