4 DAYS UPDATE AT THE BLUES, BEER, FOOD FESTIVAL

Where shall I start … hmmm … well the locals and foreigners didn’t haven to hitchhike north to Chicago and spend any of the four days to listen to some fine mellow blues music  and of course getting into the schmooze! „More blues than you can handle“ probably describes best the 4-day events which took place at this year 15th Budapest’s Corvin promenade Beer and Blues Festival. On the spot  everyone’s need was served to get the feeling of the wonderful sound of the Blues music along with the  “liquid bread” the variety of Hungarian and beers from Europe’s grand labels.

Nobody can not enjoy the best music with a dry throat and being  hungry. Many beer stands, food cooked, baked, fried in the oven, on the stoves were available to ease these pains. The past years the beer producers have come up with beers having the fruit tastes. One of the liquid  in pleasure was “RIZMAYER” beer, the sour cherry flavored beer and the sour cherry dipped in cognac beer made many their day. Of course the Hungaricum, the Pálinka didn’t wish to stay at home, couldn’t have missed not to show up at the Blues Festival. Group of local and foreigner people certainly enjoyed  probably the last days of the passing summertime with blue sky along with the blues and all the city what it offered. Probably the sky and the clear full moon enjoyed the air-filled with the blues.

Throughout the 4 days, from noon till 11 p.m.  superb groups shared their music and it was seen how much good and quality music can be offered by domestic, European and American blues artists.

During the 4 days  the  blues menu was provided by 16 groups and bands and DJ’s.

Mentioning some that can been seen in the slide show: Ms. Karen Carroll and Mbb, Mr. Tamás Szabó and Mojo, Tom White band, Mystery Gand, Jambalaya, Jimi Hendrix Memorial, Mr. György Ferenczi and the Rackajam.

The 15th Blues and Beer Festival met all the expectations and there’s no back,  except, if not in recalling the enjoyable time you had there! See you next year at the 16th Beer and Blues Festival in Budapest or somewhere in Hungary!

The outdoor music festival surely was extremely versatile, catchy and perfectly accurate!

I missed it a bit and hoping next year there will be more Ladies of the Blues participating at the 16th Blues Festival at Budapest. So here’s a lesson to the be heard by the organisers!

Hopefully our Bluestourisim will also grow higher in the coming years!

HERALD NEWS FROM THE GREEN HOUSE IN BUDAPEST

Herald news of the new tenants in the office buildings at the Green House in Budapest.

I bet all employees are wearing some green when they enter the

GREENIEST HOUSE IN BUDAPEST!

Green House Restaurant  – Zöld Ház Étterem Ltd. – won the tender to operate the 463 sq m restaurant on the ground floor of Green House, Hungary’s only LEED Platinum pre-certified office building in the District XIII. at Budapest.

The doors to open on the 1st of  February, 2013.

Managing Director Ms.Annabella Zaváczki said that the restaurant could accommodate 300 guests at a time, and they would serve diverse international food with a wide range of healthy options. Both the restaurant and the adjacent cafeteria will be open to the general public.

Skanska Property Hungary’s Managing Director Mr. Grzegorz Strutynski welcomed the new tenant in the building. “Healthy, organic dining options are also part of an all-around green work environment, and Skanska is glad to seal the cooperation with a company that pays special attention to that important aspect.”

Have had given this overview of the existence and other information in my previous update, let alone by saying what might sound as interesting to hear the background to my readers again …. here it goes:Throughout 125 years, Skanska has been a modern and innovative developer and contractor, building what society needs. To-day, Skanska is one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups with expertise in construction, development of commercial and residential projects and public-private partnerships. The Group currently has 53,000 employees in selected home markets in Europe, in the US and Latin America. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. They are also listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, Skanska’s sales in 2011 totaled SEK 123 billion.”

Based on its global green experience, Skanska aims to be the clients’ first choice for Green solutions.

To-day one of our main daily activities is to be on the road, whether for leisure or heading for work, but what a disgusting feeling is to travel on bad, dumping roads. Well within the 125 years Skanska by request provided roads and as well awesome bridges to cross over to the other side of the road. Their first asphalt road  lay in Borlänge in 1927 and Jordberga in 1889 in Sweden. If you think of it, it’s almost two centuries ago. Some would say …  gosh it’s history. In the mid ’50 Skanska built its 1st. „expressway” connecting Malmö to Lund in Sweden.

Talking about the bridges, we in Budapest are aware of eye-catching bridge. We have 10 bridges connecting back-and-forth over crossing the River Danube. The Skanska also provided superb bridges to meet the eye.

The Opera House in Stockholm was built by the company within 2 years from 1888 until 1890 and this was Skanska’s first major assignment. I believe,  seeing only on postcard th Royal Opera house in Stockholm wears its name perfectl. It really has the look of royalty. By-the-way … at first glance … indeed … you may discover similarities to the Hungarian State House and the Opera House in Stockholm.

BEATING THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORD WITH COFFEE CUPS FILLED WITH BLACK AND COFFEE LAITE IN BUDAPEST AT THE CORVINUS UNIVERSITY BY THE  LOCAL AND FOREIGNER STUDENTS !

Throughout the years since the Book of Guinness has started to mark the outstanding records in the mostly unimaginable situations, as  individuals around the world  have been challenging  their limits.  Therefore, no surprise that the Book of Guinness has many chapters by now of what and how an individual reached to be in the Book of Records.

During the late  morning  hours 25 MBA students  gathered at the hall of the main building at  the Corvinus University  to successfully land the world’s largest mosaic measured in 64-square-meter by the use of coffee cups filled with coffee. the coffee cups showing the image of a star representing  the site called  “sztarold.hu”  celebrity. To build this huge image of 6400 coffee cups and adding the 1600 liters of coffee took them 4 hours in creating this sensational  world record.

The Guinness world record experiment was previously tested by Mr.Tomas Lajtos together with his colleagues  for weeks ahead before that had for weeks been carefully prepared of the world’s slightly larger than 8×8 meters birth of a figure to reach a new Guinness World Record. These tests covered the lengthy experimentation, and a bunch of math counting. The Intelligent News Search Portal, the http://www.sztarold.hu organized by the 4-hour duration of time for each student  to  concreted 256 cups of coffee, and then affix the image pre-determined points.

The special experimental event was attended by Hungarian, Estonian, Cyprus, Mexican, Indian, German, Iran, Nigerian, Turkish, American young MBA students.  The Corvinus University MBA program director was Dr. Péter Móricz who all along the way was there to watch how the coffee cups filled with coffee  are getting loaded.

As  Ms. Petra Gaja, from the http://www.sztarold.hu spokeslady said: “The record attempt conveys an important message: the border anomalies. Youth of different nations helped the world record, we have shown how our world is limitless. As “one” moved dozens of people, regardless of their nationality, religion, gender or the color of their skin”.

The record’s registrar in Hungary was Mr. István Sebestyén who endorsed the whole action. The authenticator told at the end of the “heavy work”:  “This was a genuine new Hungarian record of this size. The various toned milky coffee made to show a mosaic photo has previously never been set up in Hungary. The venue had seen and findings of the Protocol, each containing the data that were measurable, comparable, to the protocols drive and reproduced made the record”.

Dr. Péter Móricz, Assistant Professor, at the Corvinus University Faculty of  Business Administration, Institute of Management watched his students all the way and was pleased to learn how they all enjoy their “mission” as ONE!

At the end the size of the mosaic picture was measured: 8.1  x 8.1 square meters.

The previous record holder was in Hawaii with a mosaic size  4.9 m x 7.6 m of a picture of  Elvis Presley, when  5,642 cups were in use. The Intelligent News Search sztárold.hu and the Corvinus University jointly organized the world record attempt of this  mosaic which was almost twice as large.

Most of us are chocolate lovers … why wouldn’t we be … some folks are simply chocoholic individuals or others rather open a bottle of champagne arriving home. The  “Sweet Days” surely managed to satisfy everyone’s  personal taste in the role according to their tastes. These 4 days of sweets and candy was  an awesome tour in the field of Hungarian and international chocolate. As it was said at many stands: “When we taste chocolate, we need to use all four senses: see, feel, smell and taste the chocolate.  So the four days of being at the “chocoville” was a  sweet adventure and probably reached its goal by presenting  all the makers of their best.  During the four “Sweet Days” gathering, the flowery, fruity, nutty and spicy characters dipped, coated in chocolate were out to be discovered.

Mentioning some brands to be “discovered” or just to “upload –  fill” your chocolate shelves.

“BRANDMIX”

Company is five years  carrying on in the business. First they started with the beer range and the  just 2 years ago implemented  to extent high quality sweets and chocolates in the scale to be distributors. Could be I have never sawn a huge, wide selection, variety of  sweets and chocolates than visiting their stand.  It was like being at Disneyland, not knowing which way to look at their stand. Such a mass of sweets  you just didn’t know what to choice. They have recently opened their web retailers store!  If this sounds good for you then here you go: www.brandmix.hu/index.php?data[mid]=2

MOZART SOUVENIRS – “CHOCOLATE MUSEUM”

The Austrian Mozart chocolate comes with marzipan inside and lasts longer in your mouth!

At the stand Mr. Elemér Farkas introduced some flavors then talked about his project” the Chocolate Museum. Even through in the video Mr. Farkas is speaking in  Hungarian language,  prehaps  watching the video it can be easy to follow, the museum itself,  the history from the time of the  first Hungarian Chocolate shop in 1880. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yzn7hoowud8 The first shot says: ” Only drank for centuries… today available in bars. chocolate has undiminished success.  3 kilograms /person are eaten a year”  Of course there are those folks who eat less and those who eat more than that  amount. To dig into the mouth-watering products here not just in Budapest, roll over to the chocolate museum, see for yourself and the rest is up to you! www.csokolade-muzeum.hu

“SMILE PALACSINTA”

The Hungarian Palacsinta ( pancake)  is like nothing else to compare with other pancakes. The house of the hand-made chocolates!

Passing by the tempting goodies my eyes spotted this small stand that was full of  mouth-watering chocolates and the temptation was high not to get a small bar “goose cracklings”  chocolate. As the owner said, the goose cracklings were the most popular during the “sweet Days” affair! What an excellent idea of the filling. Each-and-every bit is so enjoyable, the moment of warmth floods your soul. It is hard in trying  to choose which one to give a try. They had a lovely selection of dried fruits coated in white, milky and dark chocolate in gift boxes for any highlighted occasion.
