Boat line “D2” service connects Budapest

Within the co-operation between the Metropolitan Municipality and the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) launched into operation from December, 3, 2016., the scheduled boat service on the River Danube. This service is expected to support transportation until next spring and also ease the road users’ everyday’s lives.

The boat line service is a nice gesture from the city!

At the first Deputy Major Alexandra Bobrovniczky Szalay – Metropolitan Municipality said with the D2 boat crossing line service will deliver passengers between the Batthyány Square and Kossuth Lajos Square, because of the M2 metro line in both directions pass through without stopping at the Kossuth Lajos Square. Also added that this time of year crossing the river by boat decorated with garlands of light.  travel day-or-evening viewing the spectacular sight of Budapest contribute to the Holiday Season. Last D2 service ends at 8 p.m.

Budapest will show a little more of herself  on this 15-20 minute boat trip. The capacity is 100 persons in the boat. Ordinary travelers ticketed to travel is needed. Passengers can use the standard service with a single ticket or a pass and with a monthly ticket of BKK is also valid for the boat. Also can purchase on the boat a one-way-ticket. Children under the age 6 and the seniors over 65 travel for free.

At the entrance to the boat, “VÁRHEGY” – (Castle Hill) sign indicates that the D2 boat is ready to transport passengers.

Beside the boat line service, also facilitates the transport of passengers in addition by replacement M2A buses, but keep in mind the journey is much longer  to reach from one-side-to-the other.

The press chief of BKK  said, they will continuously monitor the evolution of passenger traffic and if necessary revise in changing the timetable in question by the end of the year.
