St. Martin Day Goose Festival with Huge Breasts and Hot Thighs 2022.

Saint Martin’s Day marks the end of the economic year on the farms and the beginning of the period of the Fall to come, which is associated with many folk customs and beliefs throughout Hungary.

This year, the 20th St. Martin’s New Wine Festival will take place in the Skanzen, complete with festive program elements such as: folk customs and beliefs, goose feast, wine tasting and wine making programs, lantern parade, handicrafts, including children’s concerts, puppet theaters, performances by dance groups and other concerts from November, 12 – 13. 2022. Venue: Address:  75. Sztaravodai Rd. – Szentendre.

The importance of the new wine and the goose feast must be emphasized, because without them there is no St. Martin’s Day entertainment.

In keeping with tradition, guests are greeted at the gates of the River Danube Bend with mouth-watering snacks and the taste of new wine again this year. Goose dishes include various roast geese, roasted chestnuts, pumpkin, and baked apples.

To ease the thirst for the visitors  offering quality artisanal wines by the winneries following: Birkás Winery – Izsák – Greitenbach Winery – Bodrogkisfalud – Tokaj – Tamás Dúzsi’s Cellar – Szekszárd – ÉKKŐ Wine Workshop – Szentbékálla – Egedi Bormíves Tanya – Eger – Kőhegyvir – Szentendre – Laposa Badacsony/Badacsonytomaj -Lingvay Winery – Vác – Pál Mészáros wine house and cellar – Szekszárd – Nyolcas és fia artisan winery – Eger – Polgár Winery – Villány.

Naturally, connected to the St. Martin Day food to fill the visitors hunger will not be missing at the SKANZEN Restaurant – Jászárokszállás Inn building.  Soups – Main course – Sweeties …  such as: Saffron beef soup with roast goose, Baked pumpkin soup, toasted pumpkin seeds from Salafő, pumpkin seed oil. Crispy oven-baked goose leg with quince-flavored purple cabbage and mashed potatoes with onions, Goose meat on paprika sour cream, beetroot mashed potatoes, Martin’s daily plater:  Lecsós steak with foie gras and mutton curd strap, Salt with smoked goose breast, sheep’s cheese strapacska with bacon, Three-onion pumpkin gersli. Hand-pulled homemade pumpkin and poppy seed strudel, Plum jam pie,  Duck’s foot cake, Butter and honey millet porridge, forest fruit.

The St. Martin’s Day Goose entire menu with unlimited buffet food and drinks (carbonated soft drinks, mineral water, new wine, wine, beer, coffee) can be booked in advance or on the spot.

By-the-way …  The Skanzen – The Open-Air Museum of Ethnography is the largest open-air museum within 63 hectare area in Hungary where the visitors can see folk architecture, housing culture, farming and lifestyle come to life from the past eras.
