Above all … also more luge races through HBO Max will broadcast all of this season’s major luge races.
The events will also be shown on Eurosport in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe and the International Luge Federation (FIL).
Expanded broadcasting rights further strengthen WBD’s role as the home of winter sports, especially ahead of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe has entered into a new partnership with the International Luge Federation (FIL) to bring all major World Cup races of the 2025-2026 season to viewers across Europe. The events will be broadcast live in Hungary by Eurosport, a leading player in winter sports broadcasting for 35 years. The full online broadcast will also be available to HBO Max subscribers, while Eurosport.hu will feature fresh articles and content on luge and its competitors throughout the year.
With luge now part of WBD’s expanded premium winter sports offering for the 2025/2026 season, the company aims to establish a long-term partnership with the International Luge Federation (FIL) in the lead-up to the 2030 Winter Olympics in France. WBD’s broad winter sports portfolio currently includes coverage of 13 different sports, including alpine skiing, biathlon and ski jumping, as well as World Cup and World Championship events (except in the Nordic countries where rights differ). All 116 medal events from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina will also be broadcast.
Trojan Paillot, Vice President of Sports Acquisition and Syndication at WBD Sports Europe, announced: “We are the home of winter sports and have proudly built our reputation over the past decades by being committed to covering more sports, events and athletes during the winter season than any other broadcaster. We are delighted to partner with the International Luge Federation and include the Luge World Cup in our expanded live winter sports offering. Luge will be an important part of our journey towards the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, when the Olympic Games return to Europe, offering even more opportunities to engage sports fans following the monumental success of the Paris 2024 Olympics, which saw us reach more viewers than ever before.”
Einars Fogelis, President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), said: “With this partnership, we will reach our loyal fans in the traditional luge markets of Europe. The global reach of both Eurosport and HBO Max, both recognized brands, is an important step towards greater visibility, professionalization and increasing the appeal of our sport.”
