The Furmint of Zichy Estate Won a Bronze Medal!

88d87f470552951a8ebe752482fb51ad

Anna Zichy has once again gained international recognition in the world of winemaking, continuing the new direction of the historical legacy of the Count Zichy family in the 21st century.

Anna Zichy won a gold medal at the Winelovers Wine Awards with her champagne in 2023, and now she won a bronze medal with her first Furmint wine at the same prestigious international competition. This new success further strengthens the position of the aristocratic name Zichy in the domestic and international winemaking community.

The Count Zichy Wine Estate is located in one of the most beautiful vineyards of the Tokaj Region on the 30-hectare estate. Furmint is one of the most important grape varieties in Hungary. The character of Furmint wines is mostly characterized by high acidity, rich minerality, and an elegant, complex taste. The extraordinary adaptability of the grape variety allows it to produce wines of different styles, from fresh and light wines with a fruity taste to full-bodied wines suitable for longer aging. In the aroma of the wines made from the Furmint grape, we often discover green apples, pears, citrus fruits, and honey notes, while in their taste, in addition to fresh fruitiness, a unique, mineral character appears.

Anna Zichy said: “We started making champagne with my husband, Count Zichy Aladar, in 2019. Champagne is part of our family’s everyday life, not only because of our work, but because we love it ourselves. The mix of elegance and lightness that our products carry is part of our life, and it’s not just me, but also my sons, who are also my business partners. Our goal is to reach people who are looking for quality and special experiences, be it everyday or festive moments.”

Anna Zichy’s mission is to represent the Zichy name even more strongly in the Hungarian wine industry and on the international scene. Furmint wine, awarded with a bronze medal, is another step towards becoming a defining brand of the Zichy name, both domestically and worldwide.

The Duna Artist Ensemble’s peformance “Fathers and Sons” @ Tatabánya, Szeged, Keszthely

Apakesfiak_DusaGábor

At three areas outside of the Capital, the artist group will debut on site in September.

The Duna Artist Ensemble’s performance Fathers and Sons – Dance performance following the collections of Albert Nagy is the starting point of a series in which they want to pay tribute to folk dance collectors who have done outstanding work, focusing first on the work of artistic director Zsolt Juhász‘s master, Albert Nagy. The production will debut at the Professional Folk Dance Festival of the First Carpathian Basin in Tatabánya on September 8, at the National Theater in Szeged on September 10, and at the Táncpanoráma Keszthely on September 13.
As a native of Gyoma, Albert Nagy took over the leadership of the Szeged Dance Ensemble in 1972, which he quickly elevated to one of the best ensembles in the country. According to his own confession, he belonged to the Tímár school and followed him as a choreographer and collector. The Gyula Harangozó prize-winning choreographer has created emblematic collections over the years, and the production entitled Fathers and Sons – Dance Performance Following the Collections of Albert Nagy, built in his honor, is the starting point of a series presenting famous folk dance collectors.
The performance of the Duna Art Group wish to talk about tradition, passing down and taking over through the spiritual relationship between fathers and sons. The interesting thing about the performance is that the Duna Artists’ Group did not invite external choreographers, the dance faculty learned the dance material based on archival recordings. As Zsolt Juhász says: “that’s what made this a great performance”.
The audience can see the most famous collections from the Szeged area in the performance: the gypsy dances of Szegvár, Baksi, Hódmezővásárhely and Kiskundorozsma, and the groom dances of István Kardos from Apadfalvi, but also from Eleki, Méhkerék, Ktéegháza, Mezőség, Széki, Kalotaszeg, Nádasdaróc and Inaktelk, and Lőrinrev from Küküllő-mente dances are also presented in the production, in which excerpts from Ferenc Kölcsey’s Parainesis to Kálmánhoz Kölcsey are also quoted, interpreted by Ödön Jászai Mari award-winning dramatist, worthy artist, and Kristóf Pálvölgyi participates as a dancer.
The ensemble goes on a country tour to present the production on the stages of famous events.

On September 8, the performance will debut at the 1st Carpathian Basin Professional Folk Dance Festival in Tatabánya, on September 10 on the stage of the National Theater in Szeged, and on September 13 at the Táncpanoráma Keszthely event. On September 10, two performance will be in one act at the National Theater in Szeged, in the first act of which the ensembles with which Albert Nagy worked as a choreographer and ensemble leader for many years will perform. The Körösmenti Dance Ensemble from Gyomaendrőd, the Üllési Fonó Dance Ensemble, the Pacirták Folk Dance Ensemble from Sebes-Körös from Romania and the Szeged Dance Ensemble will take part.

Pannonia Entertainment Screening a Two-Month Star Wars Marathon Coming Fall.

This year, another anniversary also makes the presentations relevant. It has been exactly 45 years since the first Star Wars movie hit the cinemas in Hungary.

From the beginning of September, fans of the galaxy far, far away will have an extraordinary opportunity in the multiplexes of Pannónia Movie Kft. in Budapest to have a unique experience for 7 weeks.

This year marks 25 years since the opening of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Sinister Shadows . For the pleasure of this, the first part of the Skywalker saga was sent to cinemas for the first time after the 2012 3D re-release in English-speaking countries, and a new poster was even created for the May event. On the other hand, we Hungarians were left out…

But just as in 1999, in 2024 we will join the jubilee celebration with almost the same delay as the premiere that year. Sinister Shadows could only be seen in domestic theaters from September instead of May, but the latest event of the Pannónia Cinema Network, which starts in autumn, does not come close to re-creating Episode I, which has been experienced as a generational experience for a quarter of a century!

Between September 5th and October 23rd, not a day will pass between the walls of Cinema MOM, Lurdy Cinema, GOBUDA Cinema and Pólus Cinema without a Star Wars episode being screened. As usual, the dubbed and subtitled versions will be screened at MOM. During the games running from DCP copies, digitally restored 4K versions are presented to the viewers, as the age demands.

As a result, we are able to show the latest official versions approved by Disney and Lucasfilm for each work. Thus, the sight of Sinister Shadows will no longer be the same as it was 25 years ago (with a CGI master instead of puppet Yoda), and the original trilogy is based on the 1997 editions by George Lucas.
Three dubbings were made for each of the three parts of the basic trilogy, and we can associate the most recent one from ’97 with our event, as it is the only one that is already for renovated cinemas. We can hear the voices of countless iconic actors who have already passed away, we can sit down to any trilogy, unfortunately the list is too rich to not leave anyone out of the list.

The marathon, on the other hand, contains a point, because, as mentioned, it lasts for 7 weeks, because at the end of the month, Zzivány Egyes is wedged in between the two film trios, and like the others, it will only be shown for a single week. Even though the already mature Disney, modern piece is a little out of nostalgia, its finale is a perfect lead-up to the 1977 classic, patching up one of its most burning, seemingly logical errors.

Before the screenings, the cinemas also enrich the festive event with other programs. Poster and photo exhibitions, costume shows and other programs await those interested.

The parts will be given in historical chronology as follows:

September 5-11: Ominous Shadows

September, 12-18: Attack of the Clones

September, 19-25: Revenge of the Sith

September, 26 – October 2: Rogue One

October, 3-9: A New Hope

October, 10-16: The Empire Strikes Back

October, 17-23: Return of the Jedi

Movies screening @ Budapest: Cinema MOM, Pole Cinema, GOBUDA Cinema, Lurdy Cinema

Back to the future … Enjoy the Star Wars movies once again.

Disney Fairy Tales @ Musical Fountain on Margaret Island Budapest

lead_800x450

Whether Friday or Saturday is on your mind, needn’t have to go any further …

The music fountain show “Disney: Summer of Stories” can be viewed for free in Budapest, at the Musical Fountain on Margaret island, every Friday and Saturday from 9:15 p.m. until August 24, 2024.

During the show, the audience can hear and see many classic Disney music and scenes in Hungarian, including Encanto, released in 2021. The Hungarian actress and singer Petra Gubik, in addition to her many roles, was the Hungarian voice of the main heroine of Encanto, she considers it most important that the stories of Disney fairy tales not only entertain, but also teach us important values: courage, perseverance, acceptance and love. Encanto is particularly exciting because it tells the story of an unusual family, where everyone has special abilities, yet the strength of togetherness and family is the greatest magic.

One of the outstanding points of the program is that the cartoon “The Lion King”, which reached its 30 years anniversary this year, is commemorated with the songs “Hakuna Matata” and “You can feel the word of the heart”. And after the presentation, visitors at the Margaret island can enjoy the movie soundtracks of Marvel Studio and Star Wars”. At the Margaret island the spectacular fountain show interspersed with light and water play is a stunning place to visit for foreigners … as visiting US Disneyland … as well locals for families taking young and elder kids alike … who can stay awake … to a world full of adventure, magic and unforgettable heroes.

Results & Medals @ European Pentathlon Championship in Budapest 2024.

Throughout the week some updates … The mixed relay won the Hungarians’ fifth medal at the European Championships. Last Monday, Richárd Koleszár and Bereczki came second in the men’s relay, and third in the women’s relay with Noémi Guzi and Blanka Eszes.

In the mixed event, the Hungarian colors were represented by Rita Erdős and Mihály Koleszár, and both won the gold medal in the mixed doubles relay.

On Sunday morning, nine duos started the fight in the BOK Hall. In the ring fencing, the Hungarians finished in seventh place with 14 wins and 18 losses – Erdős finished with 5/11, Koleszár with 9/7 – and accumulated a thirty-point deficit against the leading Ukrainians and Czechs.

The horse riding took place in the middle of the afternoon in the sculpture park of the Puskás Aréna. After fencing, the ninth-placed Poles withdrew due to Natalia Dominiak’s knee pains, so the Hungarians started riding. Erdős’s horse broke out at barrier four, but the teasing came together for the second time, and then Koleszár pulled down barrier 7, adding a 14-second timeout, which resulted in 269 points out of the starting 300. Previously, during the warm-up, Erdős fell off her horse and was injured, but in the end she was able to undertake the continuation of the competition.

The home pair defeated the Finns and the Swiss on the pashto raised next to the horse track, and then lost to the Lithuanians, so with the two successes, they earned an extra four points in the bonus competition.

After that, the Hungarians completed the 2×100 meters with the best time, 1:58.56 minutes, in the swimming pool next to the Gerevich Aladár National Sports Hall, but even then they could only start the combined event from the eighth place, in which the relay members had to run 3×600 meters each, interrupted by two shooting sessions. They were 33 seconds behind the bronze medalist and 36 seconds behind the leading Italians. Erdős 3-6, then 2-5. she caught up to position, and at the change she was already third behind the Swiss and the Italians. Koleszár overcame his deficit in a matter of seconds, then ran with his Italian and Lithuanian opponents, who were catching up, and “exploded” first from the last shooting, when he reached the full main stand, he waved his two arms to encourage the audience even more, then he ran at a great pace and reached the finish line with a respectable lead , before the Italians and the Lithuanians. The Hungarians won the combined event with 11:56.66 minutes, 36 seconds better than the second best Ukrainians.

The day ended with a show accompanied by live music in the competition center set up in the sculpture park next to the Puskás Arena, Sára Tímár and her band, Ágnes Herczku and Nikola Parov participated, lamenting, mystical and martial songs were sung. The legend on which the quintet is based, the story of the military courier carrying out the mission, who rode a horse, fought with swords and pistols, swam across a river, and then ran to his destination, came to life.
