The 16th Hungarian Theater Awards Gala 2025.

The Hungarian Theatre Society organized the 16th Hungarian Theatre Awards Gala, a celebration of theater background professions, recognizing the best of the professions! During the gala evening, Mónika Fischl, Zsolt Homonnay, Artists of the Pécs National Theater, Anna Györfi – actors of the József Attila Theater, also artists of the Déryné Company, with the second-year students of the University of Theater and Film Arts, Artist of the Jókai Theater in Békéscsaba, Viktória Kiss – from the orchestra and ballet choir of the Budapest Grand Circus, and last but not least the Chinese artist group that achieved the greatest success of the gala, the Xishui Acrobatic Troupe, took the stage.

The Hungarian Theatre Awards, which recognize the professionals in the theatre’s background and service professions, were presented on Monday evening at the József Attila Theatre. This award is given every year to those who work invisibly, behind the spotlight, in the machinery that runs successful stage productions. A joint proposal from two state-awarded actors and the director of the nominating theatre is required to be nominated for the Hungarian Theatre Awards, which were established in 2010.

The awards went to Judit Tímea Hajdu, head of the props and furniture warehouse at the Thália Theatre; Erzsébet Kásádácz, economic manager of the Pécs National Theatre; Bori Mátrai, artistic secretary general of the Operetta Theater; and Mihály Borbás, technical director of the Déryné Company. The Hungarian Theatre’s Special Nationality Award went to Gyula Béri, production manager of the Pécs Croatian Theatre. The Hungarian Theater Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes exceptional artistic careers, was presented this year to Zoltán Seregi, director of the Jókai Theater in Békéscsaba.

The awardees received their awards from the directors of the nominating mother theatres, the members of the board of the Hungarian Theater Society and representatives of the organizations supporting the gala evening.
The award presenters included Magdolna Závogyán, State Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Irén Novák, Deputy State Secretary for Arts and Community Education at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Vice President of the Hungarian Theater Society, Director of the Chamber Theater Gyula Gózon, Ágnes Szabó, Strategic Director of the Thália Theater, Illés Horváth, and Directors Atilla Kiss-B. and Márk Domonkos Kis.

The lifetime achievement Award established by the Hungarian Theater Technology Association, the Pál Tolnay Award, named after the first Hungarian theatre technology engineer, was presented together with the awards of the Hungarian Theatre Society, which was received by Béla Götz, scenic designer.

This year, the gala was held for the 16th time, during which a total of more than 100 awards have been awarded.

Founder and originator of the Hungarian Theater Award, Péter Fekete, Director General of the National Circus Arts Center, highlighted: “The initiative launched fifteen years ago has now become a tradition, a common celebration of the theatre profession, which gives us the opportunity to celebrate those who work behind the scenes all year round at the end of each year.”

Bálint Bársony – Hungarian Rhapsody Project @ Kálmán Imre Teatrum – Operett Theater – Budapest

Bálint Bársony – Artisjus has reached a double jubilee, within celebrating his 25th year of his musical career and the 10th anniversary of the Magyar Rhapsody Project he founded.

Kiss-B. Atilla Kossuth award-winning opera singer, general director of the Budapest Operett Theater, shared his thoughts about on Nagymező Street will be a worthy venue for the wonderful jubilee concert. Their goals are also similar, that is, to provide quality entertainment and spiritual and spiritual nourishment for the viewers. The general director of the theater introduced the members of the press to the fact that he considers the members of the band his friends, with whom they worked until recently, for example at the theater’s St. Stephen’s Day holiday concerts, Operett Promenade at the square in front of Pesti Vigadó. Bálint Bársony said that the program promises an unadulterated ancient musical journey. In addition he plays on ancient instruments, also uses modern instruments. Starting from the prayer entitled Boldog Asszony Anyánk (Happy Lady Our Mother), which can also be regarded as a hymn, the orchestra musically travels through the Carpathian country, in which the ancient instruments of the Carpathian basin will be their companions, some of which the artist introduced and played on the spot. Later, they will move to the Balkan landscapes, and a song will debut at the concert, for which they recently made a joint video clip with the Bulgarian State Women’s Choir. Together with the Kossuth Prize-winning musician János Csík, they evoke the atmosphere of Turkish music, and then they play together with Abebe Dániel Bebé – singer and musician of Ethiopian-Hungarian origin, with whom Bársony has had a decisive creative relationship for years, through him the African musical motifs were also included in the program. Finally, the audience is again guided to the Carpathian Basin, where they can hear a rendition of the Hungarian folk song “Evening Song” at the end of the concert. Speaking about the costumes seen at the concert, he mentioned that the musicians will be wearing beautiful kaftans, of which several series have already been made for them.

Zsolt Homonnay – Jászai Mari award-winning theater creator and director of the evening explained that the audience is invited on a spiritual journey: he considers Bálint Bársony’s music to be soul-soothing, which, together with the truly special and wonderful instruments, the visual effects and the extravagant scenery, goes from intoxication to ecstasy it will form an organic unity until the sensitive, tearful collapse. Adebe Dánie Bebe added that the greatest thing about the concert program is that they celebrate music as a “common language” that everyone can understand and speak.

The light of the evening will be enhanced with impressive dances: Attila Tókos – soloist of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble, Gyula Harangozó – prize winner, worthy artist Jr. Zoltán Zsuráfszky – Gyula Harangozó award-winning dancer and choreographer of the Hungarian State People’s Ensemble, and their partners, dancers Júlia Paput and Lili Faragó.

ON THE 6TH DAY … HAVING THE 6TH „POZSONYI PICNIC” IN BUDAPEST – HUNGARY

GOOD MORNING  POZSONYI PICNIC … STARTED SHARP AT 10 a.m.

Saturday, September, 6. 2014.

Venue:  Pozsonyi Street  is located at the 13th District (aka Lipótváros) of Budapest and  also  lies along the River Danube.

Countless programs having fun, relaxing, food in all quantities, concerts, Presentation – theatrical productions awaited for families with small children, friends to hang out still enjoying the Indian Summer in Budapest.

 

The Pozsonyi Picnic Association now for the 6th occasion organized at the Lipótváros (Leopold Town … a traditional neighbourhood in the city center of Budapest) the annual culture gathering previously before the coming Jewish New Year holiday. This year’s event is special for two reasons … having more-and-more theaters presentations and concert throughout the whole day and also because with the it turned out  with having the increase number of performers the venue outgrown the scene. So this year the whole route of enjoyments began from the Jászai Mari Square along the way to the St. István Park (St. Steven Park)

Just as a reminder when it began …  At the first Picnic in 2009, nearly 5000, and the last year has been more than 20000  people rolling along the venue. This year most probably doubled the number of visitors. There were countless performing artists  Szilvia Kárászy,  Tahi Tóth László (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoQhgKRwV8kLia Pokorny, Andrea Malek,, László Dés, Miklós Benedek, Kata Janza, Pál Fekete,  Bernadett Vágó,  Zsolt Homonnay,Tamás Dunai, Judit Hernádi, János Gálvölgyi, András Bálint, András Kern, the Comedy troupe and belly dancers and salsa show  surely  got much attention  … many others programs throughout the day.

As said just mentioned … Today’s picnic was primarily for the theaters. This time, two big stage and a children’s stage filled the air, entertaining the audience. This will be in addition to the usual, Picnic successful events: street children. As in the previous years again the baking time  contest took place, baking the Hungarian speciality, the Pozsonyi croissant. The charity bazaar tables were pretty much visited  with spectator and shoppers. Hand-made crafts were on sale,  chess seats for young and elder folks, assort of manual skills for kids and a  bunch of activities  to enjoy  at the late summer days before the rainy days of the Fall arrives.  Within the program the city’s best restaurants this year was selected by a team of professional  jury and was awarded the prestigious Picnic Star.

When the night fell down and  the clock struck at 10 p.m. the Pozsonyi Picnic came to the end, but before that it was announced through the loudspeaker …
