The essentially a line-up of all the best restaurants, wineries, PÁLINKA producers, beer breweries, confectioneries and bars, were awaited to show the public experience the delicacies they offer. As usual, Hungary’s most popular gastronomic event was organized by the MBH Bank. This year, more than 100 exhibitors brought love “country tasting”. Every year Gourmet puts a central theme on its banner: this time female energies were dominate. Both at home and abroad, more and more women are taking on a significant role in gastronomy, far beyond the boundaries of home baking and cooking and gastroblogs. Mentionig two presentations on the stage the Gourmet Academy Baker – Gabriella Ormós, talked about how to make a vegan dessert? She previously worked in a well-known fine dining restaurant, and is currently pastry chef and co-chef at Laurel Budapest.

Watched on the stage of the Gourmet Academy, Maki Stevenson – the founder of Makifood Cookery School and Events, who gave Japanese-Hungarian food combinations an insight into the world of Japanese gastronomy. On Sunday, Gourmet also celebrates children’s day: the little ones can bake and cook with stars, as well as the Kerek Perec gastronomic playground and the Dollhouse.

It was possible to take part in a real taste journey for the eyes and the mouth. Classic Hungarian flavors combined with recipes typical of the region. They came from Gyöngyös and the masterful creations of “Bori Mami” taught the taste buds a lesson. Were design absolutely as masterpiece of art! Interesting taste of the marrow snack. Well done kindness belonged to the yummy food.

At the OPIUM Restaurant stand had a long queue to get to know and taste the offerings of the special flavors brought on the spot with their pan-Asian dressings. The dish presentations to flavor profiles, symmetry enhances both visual appeal and taste experience. Truely brought street grill vibes to life. Recommend to top by and see/taste their yummy foods.

A festival without missing Pálinka ain’t worth to be, especially to have met again the Nobilis pálinka owner again after 7 years. Still brought back in mind their fresh fruity tastes. The aroma and taste of the Noblis No22 – black ruby pálinka is simply awesome. The series of their full selection of Hungarian fruits in bottle is unbeatable.

Take a ride to the land of culinary experience at the Foie Gras Festival.

District, V. Erzsébet (Elisabeth) Square – Downtown area in Budapest

The  Erzsébet Square opened its doors in marking the 6th  Foie Gras  Festival. Even though goose meals have an old tradition in the Hungarian gastronomy more than a hundreds of years, yet must admit ain’t a common meal during  weekdays. One of the festival’s goal was to invite as many families and tourist and foreigners staying in Budapest  to the festival as to have the opportunity with affordable prices to enjoy, have the experience of these unique taste of the goose meals and to benefit from these culinary delights.

Probably many will pull  up their eyebrows hearing there will be daily  several times the  Geese Olympics Games … yes that’s right! So be present as an observer or take part in herding geese  at the Hilarious Geese Olympics.

This year the Festival exhibition will be even more colorful tha in the previous years for example  … goose crackling bon-bon, home-smoked goose sausage, blueberry camembert ice cream, Tokaji Aszú ice cream specialties, locations goose cracklings, truffle and garlic pan-fried goose liver pate, Tokay Aszú pate, freshly baked bread, Dozens of  ADA natural jams and fruit juice without any ingredients  by Katalin Török,  dark and light millet beer, cow’s milk cheese  and goat cheeses by Estate Mirca Nárcisz cheese maker from Debrecen, superb wines from several wine regions in Hungary and naturally pálinka, especially, the Nobilis Palinka will not be missing.

For three days housewives and all who wish to obtain a good meal  may see by their own two eyes and hear the tricks and the secrets in perpetrating a really tasty goose  feast.

One thing was really missing at  Foie Gras festival that would have brought much more attention to the tourist walking by the venue … not knowing what is inside the entry gate! That would have been a poster on a notice board  at the ticket box with at least a goose picture showing about what kind of event is on the other side of the gate.
