Cirque du Soleil show on screen limited time only from the 23rd of April.

Press release by Pannonia Entertainment Ltd.

Pannónia Entertainment will bring three Cirque du Soleil shows to the region for the remainder of the year, each season.

Founded in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian entertainment company and the world’s largest producer of contemporary new circus. It revolutionized the art form by eliminating animal acts and instead focusing on high-level acrobatics, artistic storytelling, elaborate, unique costumes and original music. By 2026, it will be a leader in the performing arts, combining artistic creativity with advanced technology.

The Montreal-based company has entertained more than 400 million people on 6 continents. In addition to their headquarters, they also offer tours (e.g. Kooza, Kurios) and permanent performances (e.g. “O”, Mad Apple) in cities such as Las Vegas or Orlando. Their performances have never been seen on cinema screens on 4 continents before our distributor acquired the rights to screen 3 of their productions in Central and Eastern Europe, and outside of Hungary, in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

The opening title of the 3 is Luzia (meaning Light), which will be available for a limited time from April 23 until the end of the year on Cinema MOM, Lurdy Mozi, Pólus Cinema and GoBuda Cinema With a series of spectacular visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, Luzia takes the audience on a surreal journey to an imaginary Mexico – a lavishly vivid world, sometimes reminiscent of Coco in its costumes, which hovers on the border between reality and fantasy. The fresh and surprising circus show enchants us by artistically incorporating water into the acrobatic performance – a first in the history of Cirque du Soleil. The scenes include hoop jumping on a treadmill, the Cyr wheel and trapeze, handstands, poles and bars, 360-degree swings, aerial straps, juggling, extreme body flexibility, swing-to-swing jumping, acrobatic cycling and hair hanging.

Although Luzia is not recommended for children under 6, no foreign language knowledge is required to watch the show. The company aims to make their new circus productions with songs, dances and live music accessible to all members of the family worldwide, and now it can be seen in cinemas for a fraction of the price of live shows!

After the April show, additional Cirque du Soleil shows will be coming to Hungarian screens in July and October, so if the first one is a hit, there will be plenty of opportunities to relive the circus atmosphere.
