Unicum Trezor XO to be available again from November this year.

Zwack Unicum’s exclusive herbal liqueur, Unicum Trezor XO, which debuted in 2024, will be available again in the Unicum Ház sample store and Zwack’s webshop from November 5, 2025. Following the introduction and success of the company’s luxury drink last year, an additional 517 serially numbered bottles will be released this year – this is the last chance for those interested to get their hands on the original series, which has been aged for 10 years since 2013.

The speciality was conceived in memory of Péter Zwack, and was put into barrel exactly one year after his death, as a worthy gesture of remembrance. Due to the aging capacity of the cellar section, the carefully guarded stock of Unicum Trezor XO is put into barrel once a year, in extremely limited quantities. Each year, a limited amount of Unicum, sufficient for a maximum of 2-3 thousand bottles, can be dedicated to the production of the drink.

Unicum Trezor XO has opened a new era in the life of the brand, which has a history spanning several centuries. The herbal liqueur, aged for ten years in oak barrels and then in French wine barrels, is a true masterpiece, in which the traditional recipe and the noblest elements of modern, premium beverage production meet. The drink in the bottle reveals special depths worthy of the “XO” – or “Extra Old” designation: its aroma reveals vanilla, tropical spices and sophisticated woody notes, while its taste is completed by more than 40 medicinal herbs, mature oak and silky chocolate tones. This is a new dimension of Unicum – rich, sophisticated and unique, in which the essence of respect for tradition and Zwack’s professional heritage comes to life.

Zwack’s limited edition luxury liqueur is available again from November, 5. 2025. On the spot from 10 a.m. in the Unicum House sample store.

The historic first series of Unicum Trezor XO will now be available for the last time … so gear up and drop over to taste it

One-and-a-half hour with The Dalai Lama – The Teachings of Happiness

The Dalai Lama – The Teachings of Happiness stars His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, who, at nearly 90 years old, sits down face to face with the viewer to talk about the simple questions of life – happiness, suffering, peace and compassion – with a directness and wisdom that is both timeless and urgently relevant.

This is His Holiness’s last film appearance.

The film is not a traditional biographical portrait or collection of teachings, but a kind of moving meditation in which one of humanity’s greatest thinkers looks into the camera – and into us. In the light of the state of the world, its global environmental, social and moral crises, the film shows how we can still live with hope … if we look within ourselves for the source of happiness, and thus the key to the solution – and for this, it also offers practical guidelines and simple coping techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life for all those who strive for a more balanced, harmonious life.

The Dalai Lama – The Teachings of Happiness is not a film, but an hour and a half of presence in which the Dalai Lama himself inspires viewers – regardless of their religion or beliefs – to look at politics, globalization, the climate crisis and the nature of human relationships from a broader perspective. Guided by the Dalai Lama’s words, the film uses poignant images to reveal the beauty and threat of our world, which is so heavily influenced by human activity. In the film, the Dalai Lama introduces the viewer to small steps that anyone can take to develop their awareness beyond the zeitgeist and political currents by practicing deep compassion for all living beings.

The film is an extraordinary collaboration between writer-director Barbara Miller, writer-director-producer Philip Delaquis, and humanitarian and Golden Globe-winning actor Richard Gere. Gere, a personal disciple of the Dalai Lama for 45 years and a committed Buddhist, said of the film, “It could have a profound impact on the future.”

It arrives in domestic cinemas on October 30th.

Elisabeth a.k.a. Sisi – Erkel Thearter

Erkel Theater

Friday, 7 p.m. – October, 3, 2025

District VIII., 30. Pope II. János Pál pápa Square – Budapest

The beautiful queen of the Hungarians, nicknamed Sisi, has previously presented an era in both film and various stage productions, inviting viewers on a captivating journey into the luxurious yet tragic world of the Habsburgs in the musical Elisabeth, which evokes the life of Sisi. The Hungarian adaptation of the play, which has become deservedly famous in many countries around the world, will be presented by the Erkel Theater from October 3rd. Now the veil has fallen on the previously secret cast.

The audience can welcome on stage … The role of Elisabeth is played by Bernadett Vágó and Réka Bori, the young Sisi is played by Gyopár Kovács and Virág Pásztor. Péter Puskás-Dallos and Péter Dávid Cseh will take the stage as Ferenc József, while Tamás Veréb and Balázs Koltai-Nagy will take the stage as Death. Márk Lucheni will be the Man and Attila Serbán will be in the Erkel, and Dóra Szinetár will play Archduchess Zsófia.

It debuted on the stage of the Theater an der Wien in Vienna more than 30 years ago, and since then, the play Elisabeth, which presents the unique face of the fate of the Habsburg Empress Sisi, is considered the most outstanding work of musical literature and a cult play worldwide. The performance is not just a historical musical, but a deeply human drama about love, loss and the inevitability of death, which sheds new light on the figure and legacy of the empress. Both Michael Kunze’s libretto and Sylvester Levay’s music strive to reveal the nuanced, emotional side of Sisi’s life, while the character of Death appears on stage not only as a menacing, but also as a passionate and almost loving figure. The play combines historical events and personal destinies in a novel way in the genre of musical theatre. Szente Vajk’s direction also offers a unique approach by dividing Sisi’s life into two stages, dedicating separate actors to portray the young and mature, fully feminine title character.

The theater has also chosen a special way to present the cast. A veil of several hundred square meters descended from the facade of the Erkel with the help of the audience gathered in front of the building, evoking Sisi’s wedding – which also returns in the performance. Then the veil was lifted from the cast of the play.

Purchasing the ticket available on the spot.

First weekend of October National Gallop @ Lipizzaner Equestrian Center … in the Village of Szilvásvárad – Hungary

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The 18th National Race will be held between October 3-4-5, 2025.

The organizers chose an 18-year-old hussar as the historical face of the 18th National Cavalry.

Order of the National Gallop preliminaries has been drawn on the 16th of September, 2025. Budapest.

Amd today, the order of the participants in the adult preliminaries of the National Gallop was drawn at the National Riding School Budapest. This year, the qualifying races were held in 7 Hungarian and 4 foreign settlements. At the last Preliminary Race on Sunday, the list of horse-rider pairs starting at the October National Gallop finals was completed. A total of 60 adult riders from 15 settlements will take part in the October event in 15 preliminaries. Kristóf Szotyori Nagycompetition director of the National Gallop, said Q.: “More than 100 riders will take part in the three-day equestrian festival at Szilvásvárad between October 3-5. In the adult category previously the order of the preliminaries had been drawn. Results: 60 horse-rider pairs, 16 of the 10-13-year-old hussar children, and 28 of the 14-17-year-old hussars will take part. In the stadium of the Lipizzaner Equestrian Center in Szilvásvárad, 4 riders will start at the same time, so the 60 adult riders who qualify for the semi-finals will start in 15 preliminary races. The following order of the adult riders was determined by drawing lots in the presence of a notary. The final races will be broadcast live on Hungarian Channel – Duna TV from 3 p.m. on the 5th of October. The program of all three days will be available to follow live through m4sport.hu.

At the press gathering as a reminder from the past was told, which was a glimpse into the background to the “Huszar Age”Pál Ráday – the hussar who always faced the odds.

Continuously was said Q.:” … “There were few officers of the 1848-49 War of Independence who looked danger in the eye as many times as Major Pál Ráday, one of the company commanders of the legendary Károlyi Hussars. The legend does not sit on the podium of military history, but anyone who loves horses, daring and the world of hussars should know about him. Although he came from the count branch of the Ráday family, he did not choose the salons of Buda, but the battlefield. His passion for hussarship was evident at a young age, and by the summer of 1849, as a major, he led an entire division into an attack his cavalry – often against multiple superior forces. The Károlyi Hussars were not a parade formation. They rode 40-50 kilometers a day, often on muddy, impassable roads, in rain, in heat – while always having to be ready for a sudden attack. Ráday’s men followed him, because he did not give orders, but set an example in equipment and training, in marching and in battle. It was impressive to them how he galloped in front of their line with drawn sword, leading their charge, the legendary hussar charge. The summer of 1849 was about the retreats of the Hungarian army, but Ráday’s name always appeared where sudden action was needed. From the battlefield of Komárom through the Hernád valley, all the way to Arad. On one occasion, somewhere in the Trans-Tiszanian Róna, he set out on a reconnaissance with only ten hussars, but they approached the Russian outposts with such loud trumpets and clouds of dust that they were completely overwhelmed by the Russian outposts. They retreated, believing that the whole regiment was coming. After the surrender of Világos, the Arad court-martial imposed a severe sentence on the hussar officer, who had just turned 19 and 12 years in prison. He was initially imprisoned in Arad, then in the Josefstadt fortress, from where he was released in the first wave of pardons. Retreating to their estate, he only took office after the compromise, firmly adhering to the principles of ’48. Pál Ráday was one of the most daring officers of the Hungarian hussars. If he were alive to-day the Young Pál Ráday would certainly be galloping within the final of the National Gallop in the saddle, with a sword, against the wind.

Tickets for the three-day National Gallop can be purchased online at Jegymester: https://jegymester.hu/event-host/618/nemzeti-vagta

While supplies last, tickets for the largest amateur equestrian competition in Central and Eastern Europe can also be purchased on the spot … Lipizzaner Equestrian Center @ Village of Szilvásvárad, during the event.

Hope readers enjoyed the A/M background information and hopefully will be present at the National Gallop Day(s).
