“REVEALED”

Running through May, 5 until end of June, 2015.

Sofitel Luxury Hotels proudly presents “Revealed”, a compelling photo exhibition that takes an intimate look at the world’s greatest modern artists at work as they reveal themselves to the photographer. The photos of Revealed by Sofitel will adorn the walls of the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge Hotel lobby from Olivier Widmaier Picasso, grandson of Pablo Picasso and author of Picasso, Portrait Intime (Albin Michel/Arte éditions), curated the exhibit, hand-selecting the 30 photographs from the collection of Paris Match, the famous French weekly magazine.

Of this photographic exhibition coinciding with the recent reopening of the Picasso National Museum in Paris, Picasso’s grandson declared that “by making this selection, and by immersing myself once again in these photos, I have rediscovered these incredible documents which capture the intimacy of my grandfather and the other major artists featured in the exhibit.”

Among the prized photographs are a black-and-white image of Pablo Picasso eyeing a Dalmatian longing to climb onto his lap, Salvador Dali painting at the Paris Zoo, Jeff Koons styling a BMW for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Pierre Soulages crouching over a work in progress, Kees van Dongen painting a posing Brigitte Bardot, and other striking images of Rene Magritte, Marc Chagall, Fernando Botero, Joan Miro, Jean Cocteau, Francis Bacon and others.

This travelling exhibition highlights culture, one of the fundamental pillars of France’s leading luxury hotel chain. Indeed, Sofitel makes links between its hotels and culture by engaging with famous artists, writers and photographers.

“Revealed” by Sofitel was launched at Sofitel New York in June 2014 and displayed last year at Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square, Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile. The exhibition will travel to London, Amsterdam,Paris and Munich, among other destinations.
