King of Pop – Michael Jackson story begins @ Worldwide Theaters – April, 24.2026.

The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic is set to hit worldwide movie theaters as well in Budapest and throughout Hungary on April 24. The original premiere had to be postponed after the crew reshot some scenes due to legal hurdles.

The original film would have featured scenes featuring Jackson’s accuser in the child molestation case. However, he had previously reached an agreement with Jackson’s estate, stipulating that he would not appear in any dramatized productions of Jackson’s life.

After a long search, the most suitable person for the lead role was finally found within the family. The lead role in the biopic is played by the singer’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, whose voice and movements faithfully evoke the pop icon.

Director Antoine Fuqua said King of Pop, Michael, takes the viewers on a spiritual journey which shouldn’t be missed even love his videos or not.

Director Antoine Fuqua is known mainly for his action and crime films (Sniper, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The White House, The Defender), but he also made a documentary about Muhammad Ali. He started his career with successful music videos, and as a child, he liked Michael Jackson’s music videos the most on Music Television, partly because he was the first black artist to appear regularly on the music channel.

Reminder …. The day after the premiere, Sony Music will release the film’s soundtrack in multiple formats, with a collector’s edition LP available in multiple colorways. It features thirteen tracks, including recordings by the Jackson 5 and Michael’s biggest hits from the beginning of his solo career.

Sony Music, Trafalgar Releasing and Pannonia Entertainment Ltd., will present George Michael‘s last work, Freedom Uncut, will be a one-time exceptional evening on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, to watch his 110-minute musical documentary. In English language with Hungarian subtitles.

Throughout the documentary Michael reveals two distinct sides of his life: his very public music career and his private personal life and why he turned his back on the rivalry light, the celebrity lifestlye. The “uncut version” of George Michael Freedom’s musical documentary focuses on the defining era in the life and career of the late Grammy-winning artist, which also saw the release of the first installment of the highly successful album, Listen Without Prejudice, and the famous Supreme Court that followed. The lawsuit against the record’s publisher, as well as the death of George Michael’s first love, Anselmo Feleppa … and so in addition to the professional aspects, it is understandably throat-tight.

The film covers the turbulent period after Faith leading up to, during and after the making of his Listen Without Prejudice: Vol 1 album in 1990.

A deeply autobiographical feature documentary narrated by … who else could it be … hearing the late Grammy® Award winner the singer himself … shot before his early death, George took part in every moment of the film’s production, so the film can also be considered a swan song.
