Ghost’s second major release concert film hitting domestic cinemas!

Pannónia Entertainment Ltd., will bring the band back to the screen after 2024, at the end of August.

Offering an exclusive two-hour experience, 2 Big to Rig will be shown in the original language in selected cinemas nationwide from August 26th, for a very limited time during the last weekend of the summer.

The Swedish formation, known for their unique costumed looks and essentially performing as a “theater rock band”, made their previous film two years ago, also in the summer, with the hugely successful Rite Here Rite Now, but their current work is completely different.

While it was created using narrative elements and directed by a screenwriter-video director, 2 Big to Rig is a more traditional, but no less grandiose concert film and behind-the-scenes documentary that chronicles the band’s monumental Skeletour world tour. The production combines spectacular concert footage with exclusive backstage moments, allowing fans to experience Ghost’s unique stage world and the secrets of the tour up close. The film is based on footage from the Mexico City shows, and places special emphasis on the cell phone-free concert experience, which created an even more intense connection between the band and the audience. 2 Big To Rig simultaneously celebrates Ghost’s spectacular live production and the closing of an important era in the band’s history.

The details of the 73-night tour, which spanned North America and Europe from April last year to February this year, did not previously flood social media due to the lack of mobile phones. Thus, the 16mm footage will definitely provide many new features for those countries and markets that – including our country – were not among the venues of the concert series, mostly due to logistical difficulties. The creators also specially recommended the cinema to ticket holders of the canceled Mexico City date, because last September the crew preserved the excitement of the events in the Latin capital, which were planned for 3 days but ended up only experiencing 2 nights, for posterity. Those who only know Hungarian need not be afraid of the original language, as the documentary part takes up only a few minutes of the running time.

The band’s characteristic continuous storytelling is not present this time, so those who are less familiar with their work will not be at such a disadvantage, because now they have a kind of “best of” selection of songs from 6 albums and some songs that were not released on them, plus of course last year’s chart-topper and tour-related “Skeletá” will also be performed.

So for Ghost fans, it’s a must-see, but basically all rock music lovers are welcome to a great, crushing summer end-of-summer party in cinemas from August 26th – tickets are now on sale!
