In the performance, Ottó Lajos Horváth and Júlia Szász, who suffered an accident at the National Theater in November 2023, will be back on stage together for the first time, again in the roles of father and daughter – directer Tamás Puskás.

David Auburn’s play was created as a result of theatrical development at the request of the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick. It premiered Off Broadway in 2000, from where it soon moved to Broadway. It has been performed there 917 times, making it the most performed Broadway play of the 21st century. The work won both the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Prize for Best Play in 2001. The play was adapted into a film by John Madden in 2005 under the title Proof, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Gwyneth Paltrow.
