This was the second year’s to the 3-days charity fair „DAYS OF INDONESIA”. It came to an end on Sunday around 7 p.m. at the Syma Event and Convention Center. During the three days event ongoing music and dancers showing Java, Bali Island traditional dancing. Even through the Indonesian music and dance is far from the Hungarian traditional folk music from time-to-time members of the audience, kids, adult and even elder folks were called upon the stage to dance together. All those volunteers who joined the dance to the Indonesian style very soon learnt the steps and enjoyed being dancing together on and beside the stage. The Indonesian Embassy made sure the Hungarians will have an insight into the world of Indonesia by viewing the exotic cultural performances, seeing and understanding of the origin products. Many shoppers just could not only walk by seeing the superb accessories, home decor, snake-skin bags in original and stunning colors, the unique home-made batik clothes were even popular … no factory stuff was around. Those who bought some special items took a piece of Indonesia back home with them. Customers who shopped any item for at least 1000HUF received a coupon and during the 3 days all the coupons were gathered and drawn several times/day whereas traditional Indonesian prize were to win. Just before 6 p.m. the raffle to the main two prize took place … flight tickets from Budapest back and forth to Jakarta and to Bali. The Budapest-Jakarta flight ticket was won by a lady working at the Indonesian Embassy in Budapest. The Budapest-Bali flight tickets was won by a Hungarian girl and receiving her ticket to Bali said she will be traveling with her Indonesians girlfriend who is studying in Budapest and knows she will be in good hands with a perfect guide traveling to Bali. The Indonesian ambassador announced and solemnly handed over from the charity fair’s collected one million Hungarian Forint. This amount came from the donation by the supporters from the Indonesia Embassy, the international traders and the income from the sold raffle tickets during the three days fair. The donation was handled over to the representatives from the STRETCH YOUR HAND foundation – Marianna Nagy and Hedvig Kányási who serve at the institution of disadvantaged children’s and the proposal will go to the “Door handles” pre-school and special elementary vocational school and students’ home, based at the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplény County. …By-the-Way …. the coming week from May, 15 to May, 17. at the Grand Market Hall in Budapest will be held a three-days Indonesia Market Day, whereas food, drinks, crafts will be available for those who could not make it to the previous event. The Indonesia music and dance will not end here in Budapest, after the Indonesia Days at Grand Market Hall in Budapest, the group’s next station will be rolling over to Zagreb – Republic of Croatia to present their show.
