Hungarian Theater Award Gala @ the Karinthy Theater Budapest -2023.

The Hungarian Theater Award, founded in 2010. Over the past 13 years, the Hungarian Theater Society has presented 93 Hungarian Theater Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards, so with this week’s recognition, the history of the Hungarian Theater Awards reached its 100 awarded professional individuals.

In Hungary, which is perhaps unique in the world of theater … theater employees stop for a minute to nominated for an award one of their background workers. Every year, the theater profession welcomes and awards those who, day-by-day, help the creation of excellent, successful stage productions from the background. They are the ones who never stand in the limelight. They are the ones, without their professional knowledge and dedication, the lights would be dimmer, the costumes would be more boring, the hairstyles would be duller, or there would be fewer spectators sitting in the auditorium.

The Karinthy Theater hosted yesterday at 7 p.m. for the Awards Gala of the Hungarian Theater Society, which was founded in 2008. The 100th Hungarian Theater Award was presented, and this year the 14th. Gala Award ceremony the best of the theater background professions.

Wish to highlight the brilliant performances of the artists performing at the Gala evening, as well as the captivating presentation of yo-yo virtuoso Shu Takada, the six-time yo-yo world champion Japanese artist who also performs in the Metropolitan Circus show @ Budapest.

Nomination requires the joint proposal of two theater artists recognized with a state award and the director of the nominating theater. Mária Hosszú – artistic secretary of the National Theater, received recognition at the gala evening; Jónás Ibolya – hairdresser and manager of the Szigliget Theater in Szolnok; Árpád Sándor Csipke – prop of the Jókai Theater in Békéscsaba, László Csenkytechnical manager of the National Dance Theater, Gábor Papset designer of the József Katona Theater in Kecskemét and Dániel Sándortechnical manager of the Zenthe Ferenc Theater in Salgótarján.

The evening also saw the presentation of the Hungarian Theater Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes exceptional acting careers, and was received by László Miskesuperb actor from the Csokonai Theater in Debrecen.

    I used to be pretty good with a yo-yo…….I could walk the dog with the best of the best..Thanks..Hope it was a grand occasion….
