“They Shall Not Grow Old” – Peter Jackson Documentary – Hungary

New Zealand film-maker Peter Jackson on the occasion to commemorate the centennial of the end of the WW I. has created a visually staggering thought experiment. An immersive deep-dive into what it was like for the ordinary British soldiers on the western front. The documentary is in use of diaries and letters for narrative voice cover, also used lip-readers to help dub in what the men are actually saying.

The documentary using state-of-the-art 3D technology and materials from the BBC and Imperial War Museum, filmmaker Peter Jackson allows the story of World War I. to be told by the men who were there. Life on the front is explored through the voices of the soldiers, who discuss their feelings about the conflict, the food they ate, the friends they made and their dreams of the future.

The unique documentary of its kind will arrive to Hungary’s film theaters from December, 5. 2019.
