In the late morning hours March, 20. 2013. the MÁV Nostalgia Ltd. invited the media representatives to the Royal Waiting Hall at the Western Railway Station to introduce their plans to the 2013, forthcoming Adventure and Pilgrimage trains to leave from Budapest to these outstanding journeys. The departure of these trains are all from the Budapest’s Western Railway Station. The Director Mr. András Szendrey MAV Nostalgia Ltd., Mr. Laszló Budai Head of Missionary Tours Ltd. and András Veres Bishop of Szombathely spiritual director shared information of the dates and scenes to be visited. Director András Szendrey MAV Nostalgia Ltd. spoke about the „Advanture Trians” carrying individuals in and outside of Hungary and introduced by visiting later on the renewed first-class Pullman wagon. On this occasion Bishop András Veres carried out before the people stepping into the wagon the St. Ladislaus wagon’s sanctification and ribbon-cutting ceremony  took place On the „Adventure Train” an opening of Mr. Tamás Gábor’s „traveling exhibition” of images of photos were introduced.

Mr. Laszló Budai Head of Missionary Tours Ltd. brought the attention to the Pilgrimage Trains of 2013. He highlighted  beside the other Pilgrimage Train tours, the Mariazell Pilgrimage Train to run in September, between 28 to 29.2013.

After the press call, we were invited to have a taste of the selection of culinary specialties which those people will have  also a chance to taste while rolling on the tracks  to the adventure scenes on board the Nostalgia Trains Ltd. No doubt, the delicious Hungarian home-cooked meals and finger food was at its best accompanied by fine cranberry liqueur and pálinka from Transylvania . In general a meal cannot come to end not having to have some wines from Hungary’s excellent wine regions. This time the Dula wine from the winery in Eger  was on board and served.

All you need is to make yourself free for the day and a valid passport or ID for the trip.

MÁV Nosztalgia Kft. is organizing a trip to the International Railway Vehicle Convention, engine house held at the City of Košice. The special price covers the back-and-forth ticket with a reserved seat. The MÁV Nostalgia Ltd. will be giving out little surprise gifts. and a welcome drink will be served.

Along the route the dining service will be opened throughout the whole journey. The staff of the MÁV Nosztalgia Kft. will be up to provide the comfort to all their passengers. Live Music band will be ensuring to relax after a long day  by enjoying the rhythm on the route returning to Budapest in the Orfeum-carriage.

Schedule from Budapest, Hungary – Miskolc – Hidasnémeti – Košice, Slovakia: Stops and departures from several railway stations: Budapest:6.05 a.m. Nyugati pályaudvar – Western Railway Station. From Gödöllő:6.45 a.m.From: Miskolc:8.40 a.m. Tisza Railway Station. From Hidasnémeti: 9.30 a.m. Arrival at 10.10 a.m. to Kassa – Košice, Slovakia.

Program 1. The MÁV Nostalgia Express offers for the cultural lovers to travel on the tracks over to Kosice on the Márai-Express. Attention to those English-speaking individuals who have Hungarian language knowledge to deffinitely come along to this one-and-only travel option to the Hungarian Thearter at Kosice playing from Mr. Sándor Márai “A gyertyák csonkig égnek” – „The candles burn to its Embers”. There will be an afternoon’s performance  only for the guests  to Kosice on the MÁV Marai Express Nostalgia train. The play begins at 2p.m., the duration time is 2 hours. Participation fee to the play: 2390HUF/person, which includes a ticket to the show – seats are upon arrival.  Guests may enter the thearter at 1.30 p.m.

The second and the third program is an option, cause the time to catch the train back to Budapest is limited!

Program 2.  A visit to the Marai Memorial Room  The trip takes one-and-ahalf hours. The tour begins immediately after arriving to Kosice.  On the spot there will be a Hungarian speaking guide. Admission fee: 1990HUF/person.   Can catch up with the lunch at a downtown’s restaurant. The price for a lunch  having two-course, coffee and mineral water will be 4190HUF/person.

Program 3.   Rolling  around Kosice architectural gems . Duration time : 1.5H’s (the tour begins immediately after the Kosice arrival) Participation fee (Hungarian Guide + entering the Rákóczi crypt): 1990HUF/person.  Price for lunch, with two-course, coffee and mineral water nat a downtown’s restaurant:  4190HUF/person.

Leaving Kassa – Košice, Slovakia: 5 p.m. back to Budapest. Arrival at Hidasnémeti: 5.35 p.m., at Miskolc 6.44 p.m., at Gödöllő 8.49 p.m., finally at 9.38 p.m. to the Budapest Nyugati pályaudvar – Western Railway Station – Budapest.

Upon arrival to Kassa- Košice, there will be time and  opt. to explore the downtown of the City  Kassa – Košice, having a view out on display of  the local railway vehicles and to catch up with some historical site …  the Rodostó House may be of interest for many individuals.

Upcoming programs for February, 2013.

Seems like now-a-days the winter imbedded itself, but hopefully will wake-up and slowly go.  Until then,  the  MAV Nostalgia Ltd. offers  a variety of new trips coming up this year. Romantic breaks to spend time at historical sites, hopping over to festivals, enjoying the, adventures, services while trolling  on  the trails to-and-from on the MÁV nostalgic trains. After the winter break opening the trails, the first route will be at February, 14 for the lovers and the  ones who will become lovers on Valentine’s Day. The Valentine’s Day CandleLight Express crooner will be Róbert Gergely on the  Orpheum  car to  entertain the guests.

Now in brief to the upcoming date, February, 14 the Valentine Day on the CandleLight Express. This is a special journey on a luxury train which takes you away from the average days for three hours. The dining with delightful menu for meat or vegetarian lovers is served in the original Orient Express dining carriage along with the finest Hungarian wines to met the taste offered by a sommelier. Also on board a saloon car and a bar will be available at their fingertips. To make the place and time unforgettable, the company can kae  arrangements in providing a bunch of flowers on your table, or the event is connected to ones birthday, then arrange a birthday cake, a bottle of champagne. The guests arriving to  the CandleLight Express will be welcomed with a glass of  champagne at the Western Railway Station in the “Royal waiting room”  (easy to reach from the outdoor parking area)  Boarding on the train is expected to be 45 minutes before the dinner is served.  The CandleLight Express will be on track number 9. at the Western Railway Station, Budapest.r.

Shorty after the route ont he CandleLight Express route comes one of the most popular events outside of Budapest between February, 22-24 will be heading to the City of Miskolc to participate at the 13th Meat Jelly Festival. To get into the details of every single minute of the 36 hours at the Meat Jelly Festival would take here pages, and too much writing may wear out the eyes and above that I do not wish to share all the secrets,but at Miskolc will be able to get to know what is the connection between the legend of the Meat Jelly with Miskolc, so just  mentioning a few interesting backgrounds to get into the mood and hop on the MÁV Nostalgia Ltd. train and head to feel, see it for yourself.

The MÁV Nostalgia Ltd and the train itself  … Modern, convenient, with a classy elegant touch. The excursion train will take all the passengers on a fun ride. What do I mean by saying „’Fun Ride! It is in the name, the staff will do their best to make this journey memorable for young and old. Programs throughout the whole route back-and-forth will ensure a fun ride full of pleasures for instance: as for the start a „welcome drink” games, gifts, little surprises, a real adventure too.

As  already mentioned,  the train will run to the City of Miskolc to take passengers  b oth ways to the Meat Jelly Festival. A lifetime experience with unforgettable programs for everyone from the age of 3 up to 103 that will be ensured by traveling on the Hungarian State Railway – MÁV Nostalgia Ltd. If you wish to be a part of it and explore a terrific and tasty event, plan your journey, your place is on this train. The Meat Jelly festival is „more than a legend”.  Along the journey your host will be Mr. András Szendrey, Executive Director, who will make sure all passengers on board will feel they are the only one on board. Will not allow anyone to feel bored nor dull. Even those who may be dozing he surely will enrich all the way full programs by holding games, hands out gifts, little competitions with small surprises, welcome drink and far haven’t mentioned all the goodies and entertainment that surely will draw the attentions. Mr. Szendrey also will be talking about the background, the birth of the Nostalgia Train Ltd. Also rolling it’s historical wheels  on the track back in time when the Orient Express worn the overhead sliding rails through Europe.

More to the entertainment side, there will be an “Entertainment Car” so-called Orpheum set up with modern sound system and light effects. A live band will be giving over the dance floor to those who would like to dance their way to Miskolc. The time flies even though the journey was by train and not by plane. The train rolls into the Railway Station at Miskolc after two and a half hours on the trails and you just simply don’t realize “how come we have already arrived”!
