The company opens up a new factory hall and presents their new workshop at Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems in Budapest. This is a 5.28 billion HUF expansion and within this development the company becomes the world’s largest manufacturer and developer of railway braking units and one of the leading training centers in Hungary, whereas Knorr-Bremse offers driving simulators and e-learning systems for optimum train crew training with workshop demonstration.
For over thirty years, the Knorr-Bremse plant in Aldersbach has been a key feature of the economic landscape in the district of Passau. In the recent years the factory has developed into the largest European production site for disc brakes and electronic braking systems for commercial vehicles. The production of disc brakes and electronic braking systems are employed at 30 countries around the world.
The Commercial Vehicle Systems division offers its customers braking systems for trucks, buses, trailers and agricultural machinery. In the chassis systems sector, Knorr-Bremse is a leading player in electronic controls and driver assistance systems as well as in air supply systems. Other product fields include steering systems, powertrain-related systems and torsional vibration dampers for diesel engines.
