Join the 13th Pakoznaki Jazz Picnic – 31st July – 2nd August 2025.

Organizers held a press gathering to spread the news about this year’s … the yearly held Paloznaki Jazz Picnic programs. The founder and festival director Orsolya Valde took a step back to the birth of the Paloznaki Jazz Picnic. So said … The Paloznaki Jazz Picnic is held every year since 2012 at the village of Paloznak, one of the nicest villages on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The event turned from a small jamboree held in the village into a 3-day, 4-stage, 40-concert festival, and from 2015 it became a pillar member of the Balaton event series. Added “Q” “You no longer have to go to Montreux if you want to listen to high-quality performers; Grammy-winning Judith Hill who will perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival this year, and the Lehmann Brothers played there last year. The founding idea was a relationship between good wines, charming atmosphere and good music, aswell the owners of a popular local winery. The quality event near Lake Balaton offering an alternative to mass festivals. Besides the best Hungarian and international performers, it is an important aspect to provide quality gastronomy, offer local products, and pay attention to sustainability. A new gastropub called Bordivat Udvar (WineFashion Yard) will open also its doors. Was also mentiond that every year are also preparing colorful programs for the little ones at 2 locations. In the meadow in front of the Main Stage and in the Children’s Yard. Remember, admission is free up to the age of 13 (applies to persons who have NOT turned 14 by the day of the festival).

The picnic audience is very receptive to the new performers, said Dániel Sánta, the managing director of the Paloznaki Jazz Picnic, who himself came to the event as a drummer in a band ten years ago. The picnic atmosphere immediately captivated him, and after the concert the tour bus went home without him.

Basically, the founding idea was a relationship between good wines, charming atmosphere and good music, aswell the owners of a popular local winery. They thought up, and still do, a quality event near Lake Balaton offering an alternative to mass festivals. Besides the best Hungarian and international performers, it is an important aspect to provide quality gastronomy, offer local products, and pay attention to sustainability. The scene from Lake Balaton is upon the wine hill of Paloznak. The small village of 500 inhabitants, becomes the Balaton capital of jazz, funk and soul for the coming up three days. The huge concerts are held at the main stage next to the village. The smaller stages give place to exciting jazz performances along side of th authentic century old village houses.

Nevermind about how to get there without driving by yourself there, Shuttle Bus back-and-forth from Budapest – Paloznak – Budapest will be available. The bus service rolling over between Budapest BAH-junction to Paloznak village center. The bus ticket entitles for a round trip on 31st of July and but reminder… not for the entry fee to the Paloznaki Jazz festival. Meeting point at 3 p.m. BAH-junction -Budapest – the stuttle bus will be parking at the OMV petrol station) Returning at 1 a.m. from Paloznak – village center.
