The French Institute is celebrating with a “Street Ball” July 13, on the occasion of the French national holiday. The French Institute (Venue: District I., 17. Fő Street Budapest) welcomes those interested with free concerts and workshops.

The celebration starts at 6 p.m. in the framework of a workshop, those who want to exercise can learn the basics of the new sport of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, break dancing. France is the stronghold of hip-hop, and it is no coincidence that break dancing is an official sport at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. At the Street Ball, may join in the moves of the acrobatic sport! A teacher from the Master Dance school presents the sport in a one-hour workshop.

There will be a Tahiti Dance and Drum Show where this year’s location of the Olympic surfing competitions will be recalled. Tahitian dance is an ancient, vibrant, playful, storytelling dance that embodies the spirit and soul of Polynesia. The stories brought to life at the presentation of the Manahiti Dancers and Drummers transcend time and cultures and convey universal, eternal values.

In the second half of the street party, folk music from the Carpathian Basin, the audience can listen to arrangements of world music from the Fifth Year and Gypsy and Hungarian folk songs by Romano Glaszo.

The evening will be closed by Daniel Moritz’s DJ set, bringing a unique mix of house, hard groove, dark disco and voguing beats to the dance floor.
