In December 2024, the Museum of Ethnography awaits visitors with percussion gingerbread making, a musical-literary evening, Advent glass painting and other colorful festive programs.
The museum is preparing for the last month of the year with many events offering personal experiences. On Saturday, December, 7. a musical-literary program awaits the audience in cooperation with Anima Sound System. The guided tour connected to the SZEKLERS – Heritage Patterns exhibition, with the participation of Zsolt Prieger, founder of the band Anima Sound System, and Bori Magyar, renowned folk singer provides a unique experience for all participants.

those who want to create. The Church Collection of the Museum of Ethnography contains about 700 glass paintings. Approaching the holidays, children and adults can get an insight into the traditional technique of glass painting by inspiring the stained glass images of the collection (permanent) exhibition inspired into the traditional technique of making glass images by stained glass images for children and adults . The museum preserves glass icons, mirror images, both “Western” (Sandl/Buchers, Jablonka) and “Eastern”(Maramures, Füzesmikola, Făgăraș, Baranya). The earliest pieces are dated back from the early 1800s.
On Sunday, December, 15. the museum awaits visitors with gingerbread baking, starting at crafts 2p.m. and 4 p.m. as Xmas is unimaginable without gingerbread. Participants are invited to bake two pieces of their festive gingerbread Starling is led by gingerbread maker Mirtill, and festive gingerbread is delivered. It can be modelled with gingerbread percussion trees carved by contemporary Hungarian masters, which oldest honeymaking technique. Knead, hit, bake!
The Museum of Ethnography is devoted to gift-giving, gift buying, gift making period. Etnoshop offers both in person on the spot and/or online.
In person may look around and select exclusive, small series products made with traditional methods. Also collections in a wide range of products, whether home furnishings, accessories, toys, outfits, household utensils, peeking around in looking for something a little different, then worthwhile visiting the museum’s bookshop.
