The 25th Jewish Cultural Festival @ Budapest

The 25th Jewish Cultural Festival will offer music and literary events throughout Budapest from the 3rd up to 12th of September. 2023.

Events will be held at the Great Synagogue in Dohány street, Europe’s largest, and at the Frankel Leó, Hegedűs Gyula and Rumbach street synagogues, as well as in the Bálint House, House of Music Hungary and Papp László Budapest Sports Arena, they said in a statement.

The audience can hear great singers of Hungarian music life, such as Andrea Malek, Andrea Szulák, Mariann Falusi, Nika Veres Mónika, Anna Pásztor, Janicsák Veca, Péter Sziámi Müller, László Dés.

In the world of theaters, among the actors who stand out not only with their prose performances, but also with their singing skills, such influential artists as Petra Gubik, Eszter Ónodi, Réka Koós, Gabriella Hámori, Kata Janza, Béla Fesztbaum, Zoltán Bereczki, P. Szilveszter Szabó, Csonka András, Iván Kamarás, Gábor Máté and Pál Mácsai.

The excellent artists of the Hungarian music community will also be represented: we will have Katica Illényi, Orsolya Korcsolán, Judit Klein, Jáger Bandi, Kálmán Balogh, Miklós Lukács, Márton Szives, Gergely Nógrádi, Pál Banda, the Voice&Brass, the Debrecen Dixieland Jazz Band and the Klezmer band. The festival will be opened by the concert of the Budapest Klezmer Band led by Fegya Jávori, and the Sabbathsong Klezmer Band led by Tamás Masa, also celebrating its 25th anniversary, will close.

International performers will include the Voices of Yemen – Omri Mor Trio and the marimba and xylophone artist Alex Jacobowitz. Leonid Gutkin, and guests of the Binah Orchestra led by Leonid Gutkin in preparing for a world premiere and for this evening they will be joined by domestic and international performers such as joined by Netta Nimrodi and Arie Burshtein of the Israeli band Amber Revival, Alex and Nikita Pozdnyakov of Russia, who founded the band Rox Brothers, and Viktoria Singer Kolosova.

The festival will be opened by the Budapest Klezmer Band giving a concert and concluded with a performance by the Sabbathsong Klezmer Band.
