Siófok-Balatonfüred, June, 12. 2021 Balatoni Hajózási Zrt. – Balaton Shipping Ltd. – BAHART officially and solemnly opened this summer season on 12 June. The special feature of the event was the solemn greeting of this year’s 130-year-old Kelen nostalgia boat and the first trip of this year’s St. Nicholas motorcycle, which was renovated inside and out. The company looks forward to the 2021 Lake Balaton season, celebrating the 175th anniversary of Lake Balaton navigation with a large series of programs, spectacular activities and renovated boats in the spirit of tradition and modernization.
On June 12, 2021, the renovated flagship of BAHART, the Szent Miklós (St. Nichola) motorboat, sailed from Siófok to Balatonfüred as the grand opening of the jubilee summer sailing season. At the event, Gábor Veigl, CEO of BAHART, Member of Parliament Mihály Witzmann and dr. Gábor Nagy, Deputy Mayor of the City of Siófok, greeted the guests. After the opening of the outdoor exhibition presenting the 175-year history of sailing on Lake Balaton, passengers toured the ship’s exterior and interior during the cruise from Siófok to Balatonfüred, where new engines, furniture, a renovated buffet and light-filtering glass foil increase travel comfort.
Celebrating its 130th birthday in Balatonfüred in the spirit of the anniversary motto of Tradition and Modernization, the season-opening boat welcomed the season-opening boat on the shores of Lake Balaton Dr. István Bóka, Mayor of Balatonfüred, dr. Károly Kontrát, Parliamentary Secretary of State and Member of Parliament for the region, Gábor Lombár, President of the Lake Balaton Association, and Gábor Veigl, CEO of BAHART.
