At the beginning, ARTE’s desired to deepen in an original way its support for current European auteur cinema, by favoring its promotion and distribution.

The ARTE Kino International Prize is a development aid for feature film projects in the amount of 6,000 euros, awarded at numerous international festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, Locarno, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, Rome, Sarajevo, Buenos Aires and Pusan.. This aid makes it possible to support young directors and producers from all over the world in the development of their projects
