At the beginning, ARTE’s desired to deepen in an original way its support for current European auteur cinema, by favoring its promotion and distribution.

The ARTE Kino International Prize is a development aid for feature film projects in the amount of 6,000 euros, awarded at numerous international festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, Locarno, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, Rome, Sarajevo, Buenos Aires and Pusan.. This aid makes it possible to support young directors and producers from all over the world in the development of their projects

Watch Tomas Vengris, director of MOTHERLAND and winner of the European Audience Award along with Elina Psikou, director of SON OF SOFIA and winner of the Young Audience Award, in conversation with Olivier Père, Director of ARTE France Cinéma and Rémi Burah, President of the ArteKino Endowment Fund.
