In recent years, Budapest became a major meeting point for circus arts. Magnificent Artists and Acrobats of the World arriving to the Capital Circus Festival to Budapest.
During the early evening hours of yesterday officials and press members were awaiting for the touch down flight from Beijing Capital International Airport to welcome the 13 young circus artist upon their arrival at the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The Chinese delegation arrived from Beijing with 31 members and no question … they will be delighted to show their performance within the Chinese National Circus Troupe. Many may know the China contemporary circus arts leading in our time. China being the best artist training institution in the world. The Chinese circus art reach back to 2000 years of history, their education, training, own methods stand behind their current successes. Péter Fekete – State Secretary for Culture open the press conference, by greeting the circus artist delegation at the SkyCourt Conference Center – Budapest Airport press office, whereas local circus professionals talked about the upcoming 6 days appearances by the young artists from China. Continued Q.: This will be the 13th occasion when not just only the Circus world draw attention to Hungary. Around the world the Acrobats prepared themselves over the past two year to introduce their knowledge by which they can step into the forefront of the world. For a competition like this there is two important things to have jury present of the world’s professional leaders, circus directors, managers whom will decide who are the best-of-the-best circus artists and secondly the audience.” It has been announced, and there are two professional programs related to the festival. On January, 9. the UNESCO International Professional Conference, held at the Museum of Fine Arts, will address the current issues of the domestic and foreign intangible cultural heritage of circus art. On January, 10. the European Circus Association (ECA) will hold a technical conference at the Museum of Agriculture. The two major themes at the symposium will be artist education and education for children traveling in the circus.
Was also highlighted, that the negotiations are already on green lights between China and the Hungarian on mutual co-operation in the division of circus artist training abroad in China. This year in the coming September three groups of “artistic seedlings” travel to China in training, then after transfer their experience into artistic training in Budapest.
At the Circus Arena it is very important the auxiliary tools, such as the light conditions, the lighting, the music to enjoy the production also by the 2000 in the audience and not less for the competitors, who indeed wish to reap just what they sow … be a winner! Winners at the international festival will be on the program at the Budapest Circus for two and a half months.
The Budapest International Circus Festival is the second most prestigious circus festival in the world and has been held every two years since 1996. Professionals of the Hungarian Circus and Variety Non-profit Ltd. (MACIVA) had a dream. The dream came true and the circus festival has grown up, became a real adult over the 23 years and proven to be in the line organizing circus world festivals in addition to the Monte Carlo and so forth. Budapest Circus has earned the recognition and at this coming grand event will be just splendid to watch the artists from around the world at the circus arena. The judges will be by professionals, circus directors, artist managers, not to mention the breath holding exited audience.
